What is here happaning is something amazing! I studied jazz-singing, and I really don’t understand, why did I need to wait 20 years to meet her art!!!

My first Idol.....I was only 7 years old when I saw this on Television in -63.
I’m Swedish, so I can understand the lyrics!
    She makes it soooo easy......and it’s “ Live “
    But...it’s very hard...
Still love here ! She was an amazing artist !

There is a studio version where Alice sings the jazzfuga in Swedish and English. Look it up at the Apple shop.
Jag är Tysk. Jar har lärt mig någon Svenska I Karlstad. Jag arbetede som tysk lärare på sommarskolan. Det var för femtio år sedan. :-)

This track appeared on an English late-sixties LP set from Polydor, called _Stereo Wonderland_ and I have played it many, many times over the years. Watching it here, sung live, I was not surprised to find that Alice sounded just as good in performance as she did on the record. I appreciate Rigmor Gustaffson, too-and for similar reasons.

    English lyrics below:
Listen to me for a while, for a bit, today
while I vaguely try to analyze
this little melody which has come to be
mostly as a joke, for fun, as a game
and which almost ought to make you think of
Johann Sebastian and one of his fugues,
but which also has something of rhythm and sting,
of jazz and swing, bebop and cool, whatever you want
Here comes the bridge, so I'm not done
and now there's trouble ahead, just listen closely to this,
when I draw breath and begin to wander up the scale,
up the treble and luckily it's over now
But then the melody comes back again,
sing with me my friend and you'll learn the art,
how to trill like the bird in the sky
mostly as a joke, for fun, as a game, whatever you want
Listen to me for a while, for a bit, today
while I vaguely try to analyze
this little melody which has come to be
mostly as a joke, for fun, as a game
and which almost ought to make you think of
Johann Sebastian and one of his fugues,
but which also has something of rhythm and sting,
of jazz and swing, bebop and cool, whatever you want
Here comes the bridge, so I'm not done
but now there's trouble ahead, just listen closely to this,
when I draw breath and begin to wander up the scale,
up the treble and luckily it's over now
But then the melody comes back again,
sing with me my friend and you'll learn the art,
how to trill like the bird in the sky
mostly as a joke, for fun, as a game, whatever you want

Maybe a somewhat different personality, but Monica Zetterlund is also worth mentioning.

"Listen to me for a while, a moment
while I, per usual, try to
      analyze
this little melody that has come to be
mostly as a joke, for fun, for amusement, for play
and which closest would bring to mind Johann
Sebastian and one of his fugues
but which has something rhythmic and stingy
of jazz, and swing, bebop and cool
      whatever you want
Now comes the stick so I'm not completely done
      and now there'll be trouble
      just listen closely to this
when I take a breath and start to wander up the scale
up into the treble, and it's good luck it's finished
      But the melody comes again
      sing with me my friend
and I'll teach you the art of
how you like the bird in the sky sing your warble
mostly as a joke, for fun, for amusement, for play
      whatever you want"

Dies ist eigentlich mein Lieblungsmusikstück in meinem ganzen Leben. Sie war die beste Jazzsängerin aller Zeiten. Die Studioaufnahme ist sogar noch besser aber nicht auf RUclips.

Alice's daughter, Titti Sjöblom, is pretty talented too.
    However, nowhere near as famous.
