I've got a good one, Friends never say goodbye, by Elton John. Seeing your take on the 2 different versions of the song would be interesting and i think that it would really benefit from your voice range♥
This is the biggest coincidence that I’ve ever seen. This is literally my mom’s favorite song and she’s having surgery the exact day this comes out. I’ll take this as a sign that she’s going to be ok. Edit: I just found out that this comes out the exact time of her surgery. I’m pretty sure Colm was gifted with prophecy
This reminds me of a trip I took once. I went to California to visit some family. At one point, I was in the pool at an apartment complex at night. A bunch of young Irish tourists were also in the pool. They started singing "Don't Stop Believing," but got stuck after "he took the midnight train going anywhere." So, I chimed in, "A singer in a smoky room," and helped them remember the rest. It was a good time.
I would guess he might use chemicals for some of the more extremes, but I also wouldn't be surprised if he didn't at all, and just has legendary range, (which I am totally jealous of)
Lyrics for those who want them: Just a small town girl Living in a lonely world She took the midnight train going anywhere Just a city boy Born and raised in south Detroit He took the midnight train going anywhere A singer in a smokey room The smell of wine and cheap perfume For a smile they can share the night It goes on and on and on and on Stranger's waiting Up and down the boulevard Their shadows searching in the night Streetlights people Living just to find emotion Hiding somewhere in the night Working hard to get my fill Everybody wants a thrill Paying anything to roll the dice just one more time Some will win some will loose Some where born to sing the blues Oh the movie never ends It goes on and on and on and on Strangers waiting Up and down the boulevard Their shadows searching in the night Streetlights people Living just to find emotion Hiding somewhere in the night Don't stop believing Hold on to that feeling Streetlight people
It's astounishing how people from all around the world, people of different languages and cultures all come here together to enjoy your music, Mr. Colm! These magnificent masterpieces of yours unites people, and that is result of your great work. Thank you so much for what you are doing ❤️
I'm Irish and I used to be obsessed with this song when I was a little boy Thank you for this amazing cover Colm This brings out so many innocent memories
Well he is one of your countrymen lad. I have to say you Irish have one of the best histories and I have to say it is a shame Brian Boru did not live longer or that you guys lost The Nine Years war but you guys fought very well yet at least you guys finally got your independence in 1921 though it is a shame the North did not join in though what makes the victory great is despite the famine and population disadvantage by a large bit you guys still won. Sincerely an American
Phenomenal. Colm could cover "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and it'd be rapturous... and then his composition, instrumentals, unique takes on older songs- joyful like a breathtaking misty sunrise! Thank you sir!
I really love this piece. And what makes it even better, every year at every school it played for me every time I graduated or on the last and first day. And now im done with school, hearing this brought back all those good memories of me and my friends and family. Thank you and have a wonderful day or night! And keep up the great and amazing work you do!
This one is special to me because when I was four, or five, we would drive across the state to go to my grandparent's house. Without fail, sometime in the evening, when we were almost there, this song would always play.
Bruh. This song has never had this much of an emotional impact on me. I'm on the verge of tears from listening instead of from straining my vocal chords
This makes my classic rock soul extremely happy. Well done Colm!! Sending this to my Dad (the one who who got me classic rock in the first place) right now
Whatever algorithm and tracking data software Google used to figure out that I was listening to Don't stop believing two day before this came out. Keep it up because this is great!
You absolutely must do this to a linkin park song. I would be interested to see how it could be transformed, maybe do crawling, numb, leave out all the rest, what I've done, etc.
And here I am. A 15 year old boy. Going into 8th grade. I just so happen to be in my schools marching band. I play Alto saxophone. We are playing this song for the halftime show.
Pretty good adaptation bro. I’m not gonna lie, I was always like “eventually he’s gonna outpace songs to cover and no one can write good songs at yt’s production pace.” Way to land on your feet, keep it up
Typically I have gotten so sick of “Don’t Stop Believin’” covers that I don’t even click on them, but Colm has never let me down so I did… You did an amazing job man, your vocals are always on point and the arraignment was beautiful and well balanced! Thanks for the experience!
A masterpiece like always. Keep putting out such legendary music and I might listen to irish folk and nothing else because all songs I like have Colm McGuinnes versions too.❤
What other songs would you like to hear in this style?

I know I keep asking, but I'd simply love to hear you sing any of the songs from the Dragon Age series :)
Amazing cover as always!

Newspaper headlines on 20th April 2023: "Epic song sung by epic singer causes multiple ecstatic deaths, causes known"
Mourners report, “Absolutely worth it, mate.”
You both win the internet ❤

80s Rock/Irish Folk fusion?
This is a genre I never knew I needed
How does this lad have the widest vocal range I’ve ever seen. Hats off to ya’ 🇮🇪
I would guess he might use chemicals for some of the more extremes, but I also wouldn't be surprised if he didn't at all, and just has legendary range, (which I am totally jealous of)
@@BookwormDCR Chemicals?
@@wandasetzer1469 or gases, such as helium to go higher, or maybe bromine. Idk which gases are safe for using to make your voice go deeper
@@BookwormDCR That would be hexafluoride. Also he does infact have insane range and technique. He has clearly mastered subharmonics.
@@constantinbaddalek6691 cool. Okay thanks. How do you know for certain that is his natural range?
Lyrics for those who want them:
Just a small town girl
Living in a lonely world
She took the midnight train going anywhere
Just a city boy
Born and raised in south Detroit
He took the midnight train going anywhere
A singer in a smokey room
The smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on
Stranger's waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlights people
Living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night
Working hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Paying anything to roll the dice just one more time
Some will win some will loose
Some where born to sing the blues
Oh the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on
Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlights people
Living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night
Don't stop believing
Hold on to that feeling
Streetlight people

Thank you, Colm.
Amazing amazing amazing!!! Everything you sing is just 😍 wow!! I just love those instruments too💕🎶
Your voice and accent give the vocals a twist I've never heard before and I love it. Even just a normal cover of the song would be awesome
There are so many sub-par covers of this song. How incredible to hear a truly great one. Top notch work as always, Colm
Really loved this one! I think its my new favorite! Awesome job!
We had to wait, but the wait was worth it. A classic has been remade into an UBER classic!! Done it again, Colm!! Thanks lad!!!
Out of all the versions and singers of this song. Yours has to be the best version I have ever heard. Keep up the amazing work!
One of Billy Joel's songs... Good night Saigon, piano man, uptown girl... Any of these classic bands I look forward to your cover. Cheers!
Colm never fails to deliver. A living legend
I would never have thought to combine this song with this style, but you do it very well!
And here I am. A 15 year old boy. Going into 8th grade. I just so happen to be in my schools marching band. I play Alto saxophone. We are playing this song for the halftime show.
