Colm, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for this cover. I have been very ill for the last 8 months, with one complication after another slowly eating away at my will to keep going, to keep fighting. But through all of it, nearly losing my life more than a few times, multiple surgeries and procedures, losing and slowly regaining control of my legs, losing nearly half of my body weight, I was surrounded by a group of the most amazing friends and family a man could ask for, along with my wonderful wife, who sacrificed so much to be with me in the hospital, nearly every day. They never gave up, and never let me give up. I am happy to say that I am finally on the road to recovery, and even though that road is very long and difficult, I think you can understand me when I sing along with this song, practically yelling out the words "I'm still here!" with all my breath. Thank you.

I am glad this movie bombed or else Disney would've ruined it with their current record...now it can remain an untouchable gem of an adaptation of a classic....
@nawedahmed8168 tbf, back when Treasure Planet was made (2002), Disney had a better track record w/ sequels and were more tasteful w/ "milking" franchises, so a Treasure Planet sequel mightve been good if there was a way they believed they could think to continue the story. thing is, Treasure Planet is loosely based off of Treasure Island, which did not get a sequel (well, by the same author, theres been plenty of sequels made by others over the years, but i dont include those because theyre just sequels ppl decided to make in the same universe to continue where the classic left off without input from the og author as far as i'm aware), so why would Treasure Planet get a sequel? supposedly there was a sequel in the form of a game, but the validity of the canon is still debated. i think it WAS made by Disney, but it's just the game never caught on and, those who have played it, didnt like the story and debate whether it is/should be canon because it kinda contradicts the movie
"I'm Still Here (Jim's Theme)" is a song written and performed by John Rzeznik, frontman of the band the Goo Goo Dolls for the 2002 Disney animated film Treasure Planet. Its introspective lyrics explore themes of teenage angst, rebellion, and the search for identity, resonating with the film's protagonist. The song enjoyed moderate commercial success and remains a fan favorite within the Treasure Planet soundtrack. Secondary Source Clements, Ron, and John Musker. Treasure Planet. Burbank, CA: Walt Disney Pictures, 2002. (Audio commentary on the film discusses Rzeznik's selection and inspiration for the song).

They can't tell me who to be
'Cause I'm not what they see
Yeah, the world is still sleepin'
While I keep on dreamin' for me
And their words are just whispers
And lies that I'll never believe
And I want a moment to be real
Want to touch things I don't feel
Wanna hold on, and feel I belong
And how can you say I'll never change?
They're the ones that stay the same
I'm the one now 'cause I'm still here

I loved the original, but this version is even better! Thank you, Colm, your voice fits the song perfectly.
Hearing this made me go back and watch the movie after probably 15 years since the last watch...
Incredible movie. Incredible song. Incredible cover!
This is gonna make me cry I just know it! I love this song and movie so much!!
Always and forever: one of the greatest songs from one of the greatest movies, covered by one of the greatest musicians!
I love this, Such a great movie, It was so sad it was not given the recognition it needs! , And for real! though, I want a whole album of your versions of these songs. I would love this on vinyl!
“Didn’t I say the lad ‘ad greatness in ‘im?!”
Could say the same for a lot of these renditions you make. Stellar work.
This song is so close to my heart ❤️ this film shaped my childhood as well as this song in particular. I am looking forward to hearing your rendition of this song. I love your channel and your music! You are a very talented musician 🎶
You ever hear a song that you've heard a million times, but all of a sudden it feels like the first time again? You just did that for me. Cheers for making this.
Awesome version! The original song is in my everyday playlist when driving. Now I just want to watch Treasure Planet
I really should rewatch this movie especially after hearing this incredible cover
One of my all-time favorite Disney songs, plucked from my second-favorite Disney movie... reworked into my favorite musical genre. This is a thing that exists now.
I can't think of anything I can say in response to this that could possibly feel like enough. It's just so good.
It literally sounds like it could fit right in on an Irish Descendants album, except it's made even better by its connection to something else I love.
This is one of my favorite songs. Thank you for sharing.
A beautiful cover of a very under-appreciated song. You did really well on this.
The whole movie is a lost bit of treasure.
But yes, the song is nothing but gold.
One of your best covers. The tempo absolutely fits your voice and inflection from your dialect and allows you to exercise your treble and bass range.
Wow! This genre of music really suits this song to a T! Fantastic cover, thanks for sharing💕🎶
Wow I saw a comment like 2 days ago saying they wanted this. I'm glad this channel knows the mood of it's audience
This man is not only a wonderous talent, but secretly a psychic xD

I'm happy that there is still people who care for this song
Love your covers and originals! Please consider doing a cover of The Dancing and the Dreaming from How to Train Your Dragon 2.
God yes please
Oh yes.😍
Gosh, it's not only one of the best covers of this particular song, it's one of the best covers I've EVER heard. And I've heard a lot, really, A LOT!
Beautiful rendition. The style really fits the song.
This song got me through some of the darkest parts of my life...Thank you Colm; Your rendition gives this song a beautiful strength.
This actually moved me to tears. Excellent job colm. This version is WAY more suited for the movie than the O.G
I saw this and was weary at first, but it works so well. I apologize for doubting you good sir, keep up the good work. I need to check out more of your content now...
I've always liked this song, and the movie. It's amazing how well this version works.
One of my fave OG Disney movies, real cool to hear an alternative song be turned into a folk version
also 1:43 he just gave his secret away!!
Treasure Planet AND Colm McGuinness?! Two of my favorite things?!?!?!? YES PLEASE?!?!?!?!?!😊
well here's a gem from my childhood it didnt know i desperately needed. you touch to it makes it all the better.
This appeals to me on so many levels. Treasure Planet, Irish Folk Cover, and the cardigan that I immediately scrolled to see if any had linked the pattern. 😆
This is the best cover of Im Still Here I’ve heard. Beautiful nostalgia
Every time I see appreciation for my favorite Disney movie, I must comment.
However.
This is a MAGNIFICENT take!! You put such a flair on it and it feels totally appropriate and fresh. I love that I can hear you smiling as you sing. 🙌🌌🪐
I've had this song on loop for about a week now. Total ear worm. The most impressive thing, though, is that I will be doing something else with this in the background and then stop and run back for the ad in the middle. Really, advertisers could learn a LOT about how to advertise things without annoying the living daylights out of people from this video! It's short, to the point, witty, and I love it! STAY HANDSOME!
Awesome, underrated song, can't wait to hear this one covered!
"Look at you! Glowing like a solar fire. You're something special, Colm. You're gonna rattle the stars, you are!"
More people need to see and love Treasure Planet. A truly overlooked gem of a movie. Thank you for doing this.
4:05 minutes of nostalgia I'm gonna be playing on repeat for the next few months! I love it when I see people recognize this underrated gem of a movie. This was a amazing version of such a awesome song!
One of my favorite songs covered by one of my favorite artist… can’t wait for this!!!☘️☘️
Now, this I'd love to see in live action... as well, with you and your take on the music for the soundtrack!
I wasn't sure, the first time.
But, listening to your other work, getting used to the voice and the style..
I can appreciate what you've done here, how you've built on the original and made something of your own.
Excellent work!
I really appreciate that, mate! Cheers!
Thanks man. This movie deserves so much more appreciation. And your singing is perfect as always.
This is such a fun rendition of this song. The style fits so well considering some of the other music and thematic elements in the movie. Treasure planet is by far my favorite Disney movie and I love seeing it get some love. Great job!
I so wanted a Morph of my own. Watched it with my kids and we loved it. Great movie that I still have on DVD. Good job!
OMG THE MEMORIESSSS
Such a great movie and song. Wonderful memories. Thank you for doing it justice
Can't help but smile! The instruments were gorgeous as always and I'm again so impressed by how much your range has expanded with such nice vocal quality. :)
Good sir, thank you for a great cover for a song close to my heart
I can't believe you actually did it, you mad lad. Cannot wait to hear it
Treasure planet was my right-of-passage movie. Came out just when my parents broke up. So.. I relate to Jim lots.
My man, this song always moves me to the core. Bloody awesome cover! ALL THE FEELS!
I can just tell that you are singing with the same passion that we all sing this with in our cars while listening to this at full blast and it’s infectious
