  • Live Coverage: WI v. Kyle Rittenhouse - Kenosha Shooting
    Happening in Court:
Dr. John Black - Use Of Force Expert
Ofc. Brittni Bray - Kenosha PD
Drew Hernandez - News Commentator - Reported On Unrest
Dr. John Black - Use Of Force Expert
REMINDER of the judge's ruling in defense use of force expert testimony: Schroeder told the attorneys that Black wouldn’t be allowed to testify about what Rittenhouse was thinking when he pulled the trigger or whether he definitively acted in self-defense.
Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger said if Schroeder allowed Black to testify only about the timeline of events that night he wouldn’t call his own expert to the stand. Defense attorney Mark Richards agreed to the deal.
    Charges:
    1. First Degree Reckless Homicide, Use of a Deadly Weapon (Joseph Rosenbaum)
    2. First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Use of a Deadly Weapon (Richard
McGinnis, reporter for Daily Caller, not injured but near Rosenbaum when Rittenhoue
    fired)
    3. First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Use of a Deadly Weapon (unknown male)
    4. First Degree Intentional Homicide, Use of a Deadly Weapon (Anthony Huber)
    5. Attempt First Degree Intentional Homicide, Use of a Deadly Weapon (Gaige
    Grosskreutz)
    6. Possession of a Dangerous Weapon by a Person under the Age of 18
    7. DISMISSED AT THE END OF STATE”S CASE. Prosecution failed to put evidence in front of the jury that there was a lawful curfew in place (appears to be an oversight by prosecution) Defense moved to dismiss, judge agreed. Fail to Comply with Order of Local Government - Emergency Management Activity (citation, carries no penalty) - everyone present was breaking the 7pm curfew issued by the sheriff.
Possible Sentence: Max: Life in Prison Without Parole (WI does not have the DP)
JURY CHOSEN IN ONE DAY. 20 jurors have been selected in WI v. Kyle Rittenhouse. 9 men and 11 women. (8 are alternates)
Rittenhouse shot and killed Joseph Rosenbaum, 26, and Anthony Huber, 26, and injured Gaige Grosskreutz, 27. Prosecutors say that Rittenhouse, then 17 and from Illinois, was a vigilante looking for a fight. He, like other right-wingers, went to Kenosha, Wisconsin ostensibly to protect property. This happened as protests over police shooting local man Jacob Blake turned violent. Rittenhouse’s attorneys assert he was acting in self-defense. This case became a cause célèbre among conservatives.
Prosecutors have struggled in court, failing to introduce evidence of prior aggressive behavior. This included evidence showing him attacking a woman who was in an altercation with his sister. The other is that he was closely linked to the violent, far-right Proud Boys organization.
Kenosha County Judge Bruce Schroeder said an appellate court would reverse him if he allowed these in trial. The evidence was too prejudicial, he said. He left it up in the air whether he would allow footage showing someone identified as Rittenhouse discussing a Black man exiting a CVS pharmacy. Rittenhouse believed the man was shoplifting.

@@korbendallas7181 I think you missed my point entirely. They're sitting there accusing this guy of not being a journalist or media member simply because he offered an opinion on a story.... Umm, that's pretty much all the media and journalists do anymore is give their opinion on the story. It's extremely rare anymore to read a news story and not find bias in the reporting, to not find the writer giving their opinion. Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes it's subtle, but it's usually there. So what's the point in attacking this guy? The fact that you're calling me a snowflake/sheep makes it apparent that you read my comment incorrectly. You pretty much read it the opposite way it was intended lol.
Anyways, yes, yahoo and cnn are great examples. Their "stories" are filled with opinion. Heck, you can see the writer's opinion in the headline alone. Their journalists don't just report the unbiased news. They give their opinion every time. And cnn and yahoo... they are two of the largest outlets, so yeah, they are valid examples. I don't place very much value in anything I see on their websites though.

I don't believe their was intent to kill. Kyle had good intentions to help people but a group of rioters are hard to control or help. He could have left his legal firearm at home but he would probably be dead if he did. Give the kid a class 2 weapon charge and call it a day. Everyone in this situation made dumb choices and with dumb choices comes repercussions. The city should have done a better job containing the situation and this situation would have never happened.

    • @blueskadoo1402
      @blueskadoo1402 2 года назад +8

Completely agree. It's crazy how people are against the self defense narrative, they constantly say the same thing "Watch the videos!" I have watched multiple videos, and the main catalyst of this entire situation was Kyle putting out a dumpster fire. You can even see Rosenpedo threaten to kill Kyle and any others of his group on video after he put out the fire. When politics and agendas are treated as "Sports Teams" the main problems will never end. "Hey you may be right, but my team is gonna win, just you wait." That should not be the mentality in any civil/public situation.

What actions have to be done to be considered rioters? I don’t understand it. I’ve asked this question before but no-one will give me an answer. As soon as the conversation gets to the point where they are offended by my question, it never goes any further than that. I seriously want to know.

For the people convinced that the judge was biased, you need the context.
The prosecution repeatedly borders on either witness tampering or including evidence that had been disallowed at certain points. Also, he insists on attacking witnesses’ state of mind, opinions, or beliefs instead of focusing on the events of the case; which is somewhat allowed in court to demonstrate a bias, but the judge warns him several times about how he’s going about it.
My point is, it’s the judge’s job to keep both the prosecutor and the defense playing inside the boundaries of cross examination and following legality. So when he gets angry it’s because the defense disregards a ruling, or is pretending to not understand that he’s outside the boundaries.
It’s pretty expected court standards if you don’t follow the rules of the court.

  • @ricklichau9176
