I've been watching all these kitty burritos and none of them have a cat that fights, brawls, hisses, spits like my cat Sarge. Anyways great video keep up the great work.
Exactly! And THEN how do you go about trimming their nails? Especially if you are solo? I need a bit more detail than this. OH I found more detail!!! ruclips.net/video/6-JouGVh_zg/видео.html
It takes practice for sure! But I use my “well behaved” cat so I can show the steps clearly. I have trained other techs with wrapping a stuffed animal and getting comfortable that way first, before the bad cat.
Every cat in these demos is so sweet and cooperative. I have the Tazmanian Devil and as soon as I start the towel wrap she is jumping away. Then trying to get the medicine into her mouth is horrible. I hate upsetting her and myself and I try and stay calm and talk calmly to her but she just fights me.
Most other videos I've seen start the burrito from the bottom not the top and I can never make it work. I'll have to try this way and hope it works so I can trim the back nails. I've been using a hoodie and gloves instead to avoid annoyed scratches and bites 🙄
My cat Bella has to take 2 liquids meds this video will help a lot as she loves to foam and i don't think any meds has gone in I will try again next time
Backs are fairly easy to get to, the fronts, you wiggle the towel up a little and pull the paw out. Or use the first way I showed and have 2 people, one holding and one trimming. It really is easier with 2 people when they are bad for nail trims.
Love this but how do I get the paws out for nail trimming? I have a very angry cat when I try to cut her nails and I've tried everything I can think of and still get bit.
If your baby gets too upset, and you and a second person can’t slide a paw out of the towel, then you may want to talk to your vet about some medications to take the edge off and just help your baby be a bit more relaxed. Better living through chemistry! Fear Free Pets at Home has some great suggestions on how to keep things more calm too.
Was looking a way to wrap a cat to trim nails and hold it by yourself. Was hoping you would should pulling out a paw and trim it and holding wrapped cat at same time
This wrap for nail trims is best with 2 people, but for one person use a Cozy Cat Wrap! I have a video on it or just google it. Definitely worth the money!

In the 3:56 video time you have cat perfectly carried but with back legs still being able to access. I am traveling and when I have to take my cat out of carrier so they can run the carrier through X-ray. I have to carry my cat very quickly in my arms and pass by the TSA inspector, there they swipe one of his paws to check for any drug or powder residue. While I hold him then they also have to swipe one of my fingers to also check for any residue. But my cat gets so scared as soon as I take him out of his traveling carrier that I almost lost him at the airport 😩😭 Can you give advice on how to better hold cat after putting him in burrito wrap and still be able to show one of his back paws to TSA inspector while cat is afraid of inspector 😩 Hope you can help us 🙏🏾 Thank you 💐
Does TSA have to use a particular paw? With the full wrap, you should be able to reach up in the towel and pull out a back leg, while the rest stays secure. We do this a lot for back leg blood draws.
@@CatToyLady That is what I was thinking when I saw your video and the back legs were still not fully wraped. I tried the burrito wrap today on my cat and he did ok. I am gonna continue practiceing untill our travel date, but just seeing your video has def made me feel less anxious about it all. THANKS sooooo much :)
I’ll put a link to chewy, but I get them at Publix. FYI, they are on the very top shelf of the cat treat section. www.chewy.com/hartz-delectables-squeeze-up-variety/dp/187835
Is it the same procedure on a much larger cat? I have a 120 pound cat, I delivered him myself. I have tried having my husband help but we keep getting bit every time we use the pill popper on him. He's very skittish the only good thing is that I don't have to pay a vet bill he can see a regular human doctor because technically he is human he's a furry but his body is a non-factor. Any tips would be greatly appreciated❤❤
Good video. But next week's video is the one I really need to see. We have 4 cats and 1, is like a Bobcat when it comes to getting her into the carrier. What are those treats called? I always get tore up. Last time she even tore my pants with her back claws.
I'm the first one! Yaa!!! Once again, another good one!!! I'm going to give this towel method a try with Bing, which is something I have never done with him. I have the liquid treats, too, and he loves those. My question is since he is a bigger boy at 18.5 lbs., is the towel wrap going to hold him long enough for me to trim his nails. I have no-one to help me with this and I am currently dealing with a rotator cuff issue in my right shoulder, so it might make for a good video for what not to do. 🤣🤣
I used a well behaved cat for learning purposes, if I used a bad cat, I could never be able to show and clearly explain what I do. But this is how I wrap almost every cat when working with the vet. I I do not use a towel, I use the Cozy Cat Wrap.
All these video showing "the way to wrap your cat" are bullshit if you cat just fight you. The cats on the vidoe are super calm. It's very easy with a cat that doesn't fight. It's probably not even necessary. Do it with a cat that fight you back and then it'll be realistic.
I use this at work all the time on cats trying to eat me. I’m using a calm cat so I can explain how to do it slowly, that way people may be able to learn from it. Some people have to practice this with stuffed animals a few times to get more comfortable with doing it, before they can even try on a live cat.
Cat lady .I agree if you were using an angry cat we wouldn't get the full lesson. It would just look more like abuse. I do wrap my cat to bring to the vet ..wrap and keep on my lap..he poops but at least it's in the towel and not all over the carrier.we tried the carrier a couple of times...messy! And I include a new towel for bringing him home! Except for his head he's totally immobile! But noisy!🤪
I use this at the vet studio . My cat is 19 yrs old lady normally quiet but she transforms herself into a devil when she’s at the vet . They were unable to too her blood fir check up an suggest anesthesia which is a risk at her age . But I use this wrap and it worked magically . I don’t know why the vet themselves didn’t know about this
Your little assistant is such a good patient
I wish my cat was that cooperative.

How do you get the paws out when you manage to wrap them like that?
Great video and tips for a kitty burrito! I have to do that for nail trimming.

Ok the most docile cat I have ever seen. Lol

Fine if you have a nice placid cat. Mine grows claws and teeth when I try to give meds

I need advice on giving 10lb male cat * w attitade* a bath or at least butt
Ask your vet about meds you can give at home to take the edge off. Happy meds help a ton!

Only try for one paw a day. Don’t rush it. You can smear a bunch of the treat on a plate to keep him preoccupied.
