We have the front entrance hard sided carrier. We have had trouble with previous cats, but the 3 we have now are easy. We are so grateful for this. We leave our carriers out all the time now. Maybe that is the trick. No one runs and hides. We actually went to the vet one time without our apple-head Siamese. Told the vet we couldn't catch the cat but that we did bring some cat hair with us. We did a consultation, discussing issues we were having, but without the cat. It worked that time.
I leave my carrier out and once a day or so I put a treat inside, so she's used to going inside the carrier. Before an appointment I put a small amount of food out for her and as she's busy eating, I put a towel over her and pick her up and walk to the carrier. I then put a treat or two in the carrier and as she goes in for the treat, I quickly zip the carrier. I did this even when she was supposed to be food free after midnight. They asked me if she had eaten and I told them about the few bites of food and they said that would be ok. Putting the towel over her totally relaxes her and then I can pick her up. I hold her gently but snuggly against me and talk soothingly to her on the way to the carrier.
First catch cat! The last time I tried to take my girl for her annual check-up, I chased her around the (closed) room for at least 30 minutes, & I finally had to give up & just take her "brother". She's a rescue who has been with us for 8 years now, but she still hates to be picked up. She has had other non-vet experiences with the carrier, but these are infrequent & don't seem to make it any easier. I've tried food bribery, & the carriers are "left out" where the cats can visit them, but it is always an ordeal. My boy does just fine.
One extra tip for the pet carrier is if your cat REALLY hates it, do not set him on a high surface and leave him there when he's in the carrier. One time when I was moving I put my cat in the carrier and left it on the bed while I finished gathering up a few things to get into the car. He rammed the side and tumbled off the bed. I felt so bad :(
Thank you! Heart especially melted at 7:57. They are so beautiful! All that floof. I need to watch the nail trimming video. Spicey'D, who will be 7 this year (time flying), had a bad experiecne with a vet tech who came to our house to trim their claws. She had me forcibly pin Spicey down. Wrong move!! I thought she knew best cuz she is a vet tech. Now Spice has NTPTSD ... Nail Trim Post Tramatic Stress Disorder. Keep up these videos. You are my fave!
What a wonderful cat butler you are!!! i love watching all your videos. Your cute cats have a healing effect on me just by watching them. You explain everything so well, it is very educational and funny at the same time. Great work you do, thank you for this.
Hello ol buddy, I hope you and your beautiful pair are doing well. Im still having my ups and downs. I just got home after 2 weeks for a wicked infection. So we went ahead and homed the daughter of the feral papa that we have been feeding for years. Her 2 brothers alternate coming for meals and sleep in our workshop. Jr has yet to warm up to us. She hides under the table and we have tried so much to be beside her without engaging her. She is about the same age as ollie our Ragamuffin and we have had her about 10 months now. Perhaps you can suggest something we have yet to try? After i walk ollie ill focus 15 minutes on just jr but it is difficult as i cant move freely. Ollie is great. He was on the cover and center of a food magazine. Thank you my friend.

she's a smart cat!
I have a soft cat carrier. Toby doesn't fight it that much. praise Bastet. He goes to the groomer for a nail clip about every 6 weeks.
Toby is an angel haha

Mmmm 💕🥰 que bellos tus gatitos, yo también tengo ragdoll y me encanta que sean tan pachones jeje cómo les cuidas su pelito?
I leave mine out all the time nothing special just a teleportation device 😂❤
My cat is sweet but difficult. I have tried every technique. She even runs away from FELIWAY!!! :/ Any advice will be appreciated!!!
Something tells me that Arya is still not over the bicycle incident a long time ago.
she seems to have gotten over it since I take her and Teemo together in the pet stroller outside for walks. She just dislikes going to the vet :(
