Greenies pill pockets work wonders for pills! They are soft treats you pinch around the pill. They usually don’t even realize the pill is in there. Bonus they love it as a treat, because it taste good, it contains much needed moisture, fiber, protein, & fat as well. No preservatives, fillers, or artificial flavors! I give my cat a daily multi vitamin in them, because he is such a picky eater. I break it into fours, and pinch the greenie around it. He loves it!

Cats in these videos are almost always peaceful little angels.
If my cat was like that I wouldn't need to watch a video on giving him medicine in the first place.
People who watch these videos have hellbeasts that would murder 7 people if they even tried to put them in a burrito.

Rn thats me honestly my cat (Chen Cha) has been really on edge, normally she isn’t like this but we brought in a new cat (Gibbson) and ever since then she has been hissing and scratching and about 5 days ago they had a cat fight. Took them both to the vet, gibbson is okay, but chen cha got her by gibbson and it was bleeding. Called the vet they said only had appointment available on saturday at 2pm. I called friday to see if they can fit her in but they said no, and her injury was getting smelly. I went in saturday and they told me “Next time it happens bring her in earlier and not wait so long”…… I didn’t say anything but I was stressed and overwhelmed, even now bc she has an infection in her ears, she needs to take in liquid medicine for the injury and her infection and she wont let me give her medicine, we have tried to scruff her, wrap her in a towel, hold her still- idk what to do anymore at this point. Like I said she has never been like this, she normally likes to cuddle and lets me pet her and lets me give her kisses 🥹

@@jaeee0393 please look up vids and info on how to introduce new cats. Don't just throw the new cat in there and hope for the best... As for meds, you can just rather hide it in wet food (I cram it into the chunks) or get pill pockets from Greenies. Peanut butter is also great for hiding pills and cause it's sticky the pill is less likely to be spat out.

  • @MMOInformers

alot less resistance? That is no resistance, this is like every other cat video that says they have a rough cat, but the cat just sits there and takes it. If all my cat did was a sad face, I'd consider it to be a success. I love how every clip shrugs off the fact you can just carry your cat and put her over the towel and wrap it around her.

@@irismoon8435 Just rather hide the pills in some wet food or pill pockets. I don't have pill pockets where I'm from so I make a mixture of wet food (the pate kind) and peanut butter to wrap around the pill. The PB works great cause it's sticky so chances are the pill will get licked up together. I also asked if some pills could be in liquid form so I could easily just add it to some gravy.

with my cat, i would sit and hold him in my lap while he’s on his back and have someone keep his head still. then i would open his mouth by pinching the sides of his mouth by his back teeth until his mouth opens enough and, quickly, put the syringe into his throat and give the meds. this has also worked for me when giving him pills. with pills, i close his mouth for a few seconds to make sure that he’s swallowed it. when i get his mouth open enough she usually does that cat thing and they try to get their head away from you. that’s why i have someone hold the back of his head so he can’t move as much. the beeg boi is in my profile pic

My cat isn't just going to sit there while I wrap the towel around him as soon as he sees me coming he runs and I have to try to pin him down somewhere with one hand and then try to wrap the towel with the other hand. It's definitely not as easy as you had it!

    • @ksajak
      @ksajak Год назад

So your cat always runs from you? You never get to pet your cat? It really is as simple as grabbing your cat by the scruff and putting them onto the towel while keeping them by the scruff. Once you get them by the scruff they're easy work. Just put them on the towel and wrap them up. I've done it with the friendliest cats in the world to the worst cats from hell and I haven't gotten scratched or bitten yet! I should knock on wood now but yea. While your cat is eating just get him/her by the scruff. You win

We’ll today Miss Nala says no way,no how. She won’t take either. We tried tuna in the carrier. She jumps out too fast. I have severe arthritis and limited in how fast I move and how much I can bend. My son is getting pill pockets and those creamy treats in a tube . I guess we can hide the treats in that. I wish I thought of making a ball of tuna with the treat in the middle. I’ve used the towel but have to grab her quick. She won’t just sit there. Oh well. Our cat is a sweetie. She was a stray for a year (as a kitten) and probably wasn’t picked up much. She is a love bug otherwise.

I tried this, it worked! The most important step is getting the cat used to the towel as he mentions. I never thought it would work but it did... they were hungry so when i knelt down at the towel they came right up to me!

Thanks for the details. It's been many years since I've had a really difficult cat and a cat demon next door who comes and attacks my cats in broad daylight. Hence the need to medicate. She's otherwise a very sweet and retiring kitty but with meds, it's scratch, claw, hiss and OW! BTW for judgy people I was outside with the cats; it still happened. *1/2 hour later* tried a trial run with 7 month-old very rambunctious male (neutered) kitten. Even with scruffing (he got insulted) I could NOT secure him in the towel. Those back legs were like clawed kicking stilts, no way I could wrap him. Good thing he's not the one I'll be medicating.

Yeah!!! Your method worked with my Shih Tzu needing oral medication. There are cats larger than her so thought I would watch your video and super glad I did. I'm not even sure what I put in the search bar but there you were with your kitties, wrapping them up. Just used your method and it's the first time her medicine was going where it's suppose to go rather than every where else. Much appreciation to you!!!!!!!

My shih tzu is very dismissive. All I have to do is grab her name and push her down with my forearm. Now my cat on the other hand? She just spits out her medicine. 😞 it’s a pain but at least she’s getting a little bit of it.

Great video, but my problem is partially ME because I'm "older' (ok...old) and if I get down on the floor to capture them in the towel, THAT'S where I'm gonna' be until the cat has been freed from the towel 'cause some of us older folks have knee problems that make it nearly impossible to get up from the floor. I have an old feral boy (with s TINY tame streak) who needs to go to the vet for a prednisone injection, but since the LAST time he was coerced into a cage to take him, he's gotten "wiser" and he's NOT going into the cage for his food. Been trying for over 2 weeks at this point! He's NOT gettin' on a raised surface if a human is around EITHER! But, your tip about getting them used to the towel under them is a VERY good one... I'm sure it will come in handy with my inside cats when it's vet time; they'll be easier since they all get on the bed! LOL

my cat has a wound thats bleeding again, basically we wrap it , spray it, sometimes after spraying it would bleed then it wouldn't. He is on a appetite stim and we gave him a little more to help him eat more, he hasn't been eating last few days much, we would lower the appete stim back and he doeskin eat but seems the bleeding on the wound stops. I think for some reason I think above the wound there is a area that is hard like blood pooling into the wound or something.

I just tried wrapping with a hand towel because it was handy, and I can vouch for the need of a larger size towel. My cat just peed from the "terror" 🤭and I think the larger towel would have caught it. So I thank you for your video and will def use large towel next time. An added benefit of a towel wrap, not only to protect yourself from scratches or bites.

Wow never thought of that I’ve already become a professional cat grappler. My female cat who used to be feral really hates when I give her worming medicine for tapeworm she even yells at me while I’m doing it. We make up with a nice bowl of freeze dries. Had to learn she keeps the pill right in the back of her mouth and would spit it out so I have the check her after and make sure she swallows.

We used to do this to our cats all the time, but we just basically put them in the middle, with one edge under their neck and grabbed the two ends of the towel with one hand over their back, and made sure to block them from backing up with our body, so they couldn't go forward or backward. Usually worked well. One does need to practice, but it's a great technique.

OK, I'll be doing this (or attempting to) in a couple of hours, with my very resistant cat who also refuses to eat wet food OR treats (I'll try butter). I might have to ask my husband for help, but hope not, since he's more resistant than the cat!
