Drifted over here from RME4X4... As a father of two daughters, I can't even imagine what you went through watching this as it happened...totally helpless! Holy crap! Just watching here on YT, I went from tears to laughing my butt off when her first words we "Somebody had better have gotten that on video!"...and then a little reality takes over... ❤ She's a tough cookie, but I bet she was hurtin' the next few days! The XJ can be replaced...our kiddos can't! Best wishes getting her back into a new buggy!!
Where are you getting a full cage for 2500? Let alone one that will hold up this well to a 40 ft free fall? Shit, SxS cages near me go for 7500+ custom built
@@TrekkerMoto I'm currently looking at cages for an xj I just bought and I'm not even seeing anything pre-built above $2k, and this one for $1,600 looks pretty beefy, idk if it'd handle that fall though. Custom built cages cost more because they're one off, but if you do it yourself you could build a cage similar to the video for $1,500 or so in materials.
Just, WOW. Never underestimate the value of quality safety features and equipment. Glad it turned out okay - to hell with the rig, the occupant was okay!!
"God Love Her" !! 🥰 So happy when I seen she was ok , been there with my daughter 🙃🙃 too.... like I always says , a vehicle can be replaced , but a love one can't... 😢 I hope you have since repaired the jeep and are enjoying it ..... 😊😊👍👍
Wow, the fear was real. I'm glad she remembered to keep her hands in. He was yelling it, but people lose their minds sometimes. I've seen some nasty injuries from crushed hands.
Now knowing Katelynn's experience even at this point, this reaction from her is entirely expected as this probably isn't even the first time something like this has happened to her.
Glad to see she is OK. Love the whole "somebody better have got that on video". Cage and teaching to keep hands INSIDE make are a huge difference in the outcome of things like this. I always cringe when I see people put their arm or hand around the OUTSIDE of the cage/door.
Here because of MORR Now I see why Matt doesn't let Katlynn drive very often. Impressive BTW. Funny did you get that on video. Spoken like a true off roader
Happy to see she took that ride and emerged unscathed! The angle caller however, did no justice, of course, I wasn’t there to see the actual path she took, but always err on the side of caution.
Thats the equivalent of taking your jeep to the top of a high school 🏫 roof and dropping it. That is a fatal crash. She shouldn't be alive. But she's not injured in anyway, I can't believe it.
Honestly, with the proper safety year that is entirely survivable and a good starting point is a good roll cage. Also no this is not the equivalent of just pushing a Jeep off of a high school. Because it didn't do that entire fall at once. It's slid down the rock which makes this even easier
aHHH the camera doesn't do it justice, it doesn't look that high from here but I'll bet it was . I would think this video is prime material to go viral, maybe I can help. Hold my Beer!
This was a professional competition so they were trying to place fairly high, and they clearly had a risk tolerance and that Jeep was built to take a fall worse cuz it looks basically unscathed compared to what you would expect from a 40 ft fall
Love how everyone panics and start screaming and crying , what do you think is going to happen ? They got a roll cage and if your not prepared for this shit to happen then you shouldnt be doing it , That FN simple,,,,,nothing worse then people who cant stay calm in a emergency , screamers and panicing people , thats what i want as my safty team ...NOT ....
She did not almost die. Judging by that roll cage that vehicle was designed to take worse, and then judging by the helmet and some other things that vehicle was also designed to keep the driver quite safe in such a situation
Judging by the look of that vehicle there was likely no off-road insurance, and honestly, I don't think that vehicle was significantly damaged beyond the roll cage probably needing to be replaced
She looks just fine in the jeep survived. This is also one of the most difficult trails in that area. There are many, many trails at Sand Hollow where so long as you stay on the trail, you're not rolling your Jeep, and even if you go off the trail slightly you would have to try very hard to roll
He placed a lot of value in her life, That was his daughter and that was their Jeep that they built together to take. As far as I can tell a fall worse than that. The only reason he was panicking is because that was his daughter, If he didn't panic and took some time to think about it, he would have known she would be fine because he built that jeep with her to take a fall worse than that but when humans panic they can't think straight, anyone who pretends this is not the case is an idiot
Do any of these brainiacs ever say to themselves…I wonder what’s the worst that could happen, and then actually entertain that thought for a minute…like, hmmm what is she came out and it rolled over her, duh…
This is an off-roading competition, that vehicle is likely built to take a lot more than that fall. That probably isn't even the first time she hadn't experienced like that and as far as I know was not the last. With the correct safety gear that kind of fall can leave no permanent damage and it definitely looks like she was wearing the correct safety gear. This girl has more recently appeared on a RUclips channel Matt's off-road recovery, so she definitely was not scared by this incident as she very much stayed in the off-roading competition space
No, this is an off-road competitive driver trying to come in first place at an off-road competition. The gender or background of someone trying to come in first place at a competition like this would not change how they drive much. But when you try to come in first you pretty much have to take risks at competitions like this and seeing as as far as I know this is double Sammy at Sand Hollow State park in Utah, this trail got its name when two Suzuki samurai's rolled off It probably very close to this spot
Hands and feet inside the ride at all times folks.
Thank you for keeping the camera rolling. Glad you built a tough roll cage.
Actually the camera was stable and the car was rolling.
@FactLOCO Excellent comment!!! Glad she was ok!!!
She’s a beast. That’s why she a pro crawler.

That was crazy! So glad she was ok. She wanted to make sure it was on video. Stay safe out there! ✌🏽❤
Full caging an XJ: 2500$
Your daughter surviving a 40ft roll off a cliff full of boulders because of said cage: priceless.
Where are you getting a full cage for 2500? Let alone one that will hold up this well to a 40 ft free fall? Shit, SxS cages near me go for 7500+ custom built
@@TrekkerMoto most of the kits you get online go for less than 1500$. A 2500$ one would be really nice.

Wow Katelynn , Great way to Promote Your Self! Lol. That was AWESOME, Glad Your OK! The Car Barn Is VERY Proud Of you!
holy crap. She had to be sore after that landing. glad no one was hurt. Jeeps can be rebuilt/replaced.
A learning experience. On many levels.
0:06. I can't believe he wasn't able to keep it from rolling off with his hand. He really needs to start working out... or maybe use two hands.
Oh dang!!! Good thing she had a cage and her attitude makes it easy to bear watching the video at the end. Im Glad she is ok 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Now knowing Katelynn's experience even at this point, this reaction from her is entirely expected as this probably isn't even the first time something like this has happened to her.
When yo I raised a daddys girl 😂
Somebody better have gotten that on video..” 🤣🤣😭😭
So glad Katelynn wasn’t hurt and didn’t get the Double Sammy Blues! Hope your next build is a flat fender!
I'm glad she's okay! I thought he said "keep going!" I was like wtf before I realized he was yelling "hang on"
Looks like fun
Very good that she was wearing a helmet.

Woah. That was crazy. That’s gonna end up in a bunch of compilation videos. 😂
Roll cage did it’s job, shit that thing worked overtime. Glad everyone made it out.
That's pretty damn scary to watch. That girl is a rockstar
Good to see more people having the brains to wear helmets--- so they keep their brains!
That exoskeleton saved your backside.
Heard about this today. Glad you are okay!
Damn At least she had good spirit
Happy to see she took that ride and emerged unscathed! The angle caller however, did no justice, of course, I wasn’t there to see the actual path she took, but always err on the side of caution.
She's a keeper
Well, that’s gonna be an expensive repair… If it were mine I would leave the battle scars and be even bolder (no pun intended) on next outing.
Love her attitude about it all while her yeep is TOAST.
As a parent this shit is scary 😮
Farmington New Mexico ?
Sand Hollow State park in Utah
I'm glad she's ok.....
Some advice.. GRAVITY ALWAYS WINS...👏👏👏👏
You totally bent your Jeep! TOTALLY!
I hope shes alright.
She built that roll cage right
Thank god for helmet and seat belts!
Expensive hobby.
Seeing as as far as I know this was a competition with prizes for coming in top five this could make her money

Someone said that's about a 40-ft drop
Do it for club xj 😎
Oh boy......
hope its a rental? damage waiver too..
Slow down when crawling little lady! Too much throttle there but glad you are ok. What a ride.

She did not almost die. Judging by that roll cage that vehicle was designed to take worse, and then judging by the helmet and some other things that vehicle was also designed to keep the driver quite safe in such a situation
Down South we call that a Fool
That's just dumb 🤷🏻♂️
😂😂😂😂😂
"You're fine!" Uh, nope.
Guess your insurance may dump your butt on that roll over... you do have offroad full coverage right?
Judging by the look of that vehicle there was likely no off-road insurance, and honestly, I don't think that vehicle was significantly damaged beyond the roll cage probably needing to be replaced
Nothing else to do?

Fun 'n' games for the rich and the spoiled.
Another reason not to go off roading in a jeep.

Glad she was OK, but that is too dumb for my liking.
Pretty stupid asking "are you ok"
and sadly the insurance company will likely pay.....as it insures against collision....not stupidity....and if they pay.....we all pay.....
Do any of these brainiacs ever say to themselves…I wonder what’s the worst that could happen, and then actually entertain that thought for a minute…like, hmmm what is she came out and it rolled over her, duh…
You have to be a fool to destroy a good cherokee by hacking it up to roll it off a rock.
That's the ONLY thing Jeeps are good for
How asinine. They must think very little of their own lives.

1.) Don't go to stupid places; 2.) Don't hang around stupid people; 3.) Don't do stupid things. 😎
