one of the best modified xj 's I have ever seen . the drivers hand looks smooth and very good!!perfect jeep , thank you for sharing this moments with us !
Just picked up an XJ 2 door, lifted almost as much as this, rinolined and just so much fun driving! I just got hooked on the rock crawlers, mudders and all, just because I needed a winter beater. Well...the winter beater just turned into another cool vehicle that I have to put money in LOL.
@@SWActiveExplorers Thanks. Yeah, its too nice so I found myself looking for another winter beater...I maybe should look for a car I absolutely hate lol
We try most stuff without lockers first. The XJ has a Detroit locker in the back, so it's locked most of the time we are attempting to climb anything. The front axle has an Eaton e-locker. We leave that unlocked until we really need it.
Was going to say the same thing about airing down but saw your response in the comments...wow those tires are stiff lol! XJs on 37s are the best...our D rated KM2's almost look flat at 10 psi! Great vids and love the XJ!
Very nice Jeep. I like it. I’ve got an xj too. Wouldn’t it make it easier with the rocks if you aired the tires down more? I think you’d be crawling up those rocks a lot easier. Love the build
+VeggieMonsta We were running the XJ at 14psi that day. The E load range makes the sidewalls on the 37/13.50/17s pretty stiff. We are playing with lower pressures since this video to find a sweet spot without worrying about unseating a bead.
@@SWActiveExplorers how you like the 4.88 for daley drive , i have a ZJ 8.5 lift is a mix 2 difrent companys and buy any chance u like in AZ you mention decert rat.
The 4.88s are great for a daily driven rig and are a good compromise for highway and crawling. We are located in Albuquerque, New Mexico and there is a Desert Rat here in town.
@tedheath2326 it's a JK Dana 30 with sleeves in the axle tube's, a truss, c gussets, and a locker. The shafts themselves are stock. I havent had any issues with it.
There are a few things that contribute to making that decision. What is the ability and driving style of the driver and what will the jeep be used for. Its really user preference. We do a lot of rock crawling and as cool as having a manual is rock crawling is easier with a automatic.
It's a Smitty Bilt bumper and tire carrier however I cannot express enough how much I do not recommend it. It didn't hold up at all at least for me and the 37 I hung off it. It would constantly rattle and make all kinds of noise. It drove me absolutely nuts, I ended up selling it for that exact reason.
what year XJ how much and what type of lift and how much was it lift does it have any other specs. and what type and size are the wheels and tire's thank you 👏👏👏👍👍👍 I injoyed the video C😎😎L
Thanks for the support, it's appreciated. Be sure to subscribe follow us on Instagram and Facebook and share us with your friends. The XJ is a 2001 with 85k miles and I got it in a trade when it was bone stock. It has a Rusty's Off-Road products 8 inch long arm lift with their RX200 shocks. It has 2013 JK axles front and rear with a truss, sleeves, c gussets, 4:88 gears, E locker in the front and Detroit in the rear. It's on 37x13.50x17 copper discoverer STT PRO'S and the rims are desert rattler rims from desert rat. It also has a handful of frame stiffeners and other small things here and there.
@@SWActiveExplorers 37's ?!? holy shit dude. I was watching the video thinking those 35's look massive . Mine has 32's currently so seeing the truck looking so much different was tripping me out. Sick wheeling bro u got skills. Get that harness it looks like u have stock seat belt

I personally dont care for music at all videos like this. I actually like to watch and listen to the unit while its working. It tells me how its feelings and handling the task at hand... 🤷♂️🙋♂️
That bumper has been removed from the jeep. We have tried folding the back seat down and keeping the spare tire and tools in the back seat area, in front of the rear axle, and it didn't make much of a difference. The front end of this jeep has always been a bit on the light side. We are going to put a roof rack on the jeep and start keeping the spare up there. I know thats a lot of weight up high but I'm tired of having the spare take up the entire back seat area.
Yeah that’s fair I have the same rear bumper on my jk and I hate it cause the tire sits so far back which makes a huge difference with a 2 door. Anyway love your vids keep it up :)
They are desert rattlers from desert rat i believe. I just bought the cheapest 17" alloy wheels i could find sense I knew i would gouge them on the rocks.

"Seeing the Cherokee XJ in action is a testament to its reputation as one of the most capable offroad vehicles.
Thats a good lookin xj
Thank you!
Beast mode!
I want to go back to Moab now. Like right now
Same here man. We need to plan another trip!
I see you finally aired down
Great video
Thank you!
Another excellent video. While I love my JK, I do sometimes miss my XJ.
So sick!! 👍🏼
Looks soo nice man! Great drive out there😍👌
Still looking for that sweeping antenna in Europe.
So this is awesome video. Thank you. Are you doing this with out lockers

Helps to air down tires when going over a big step lol
What a view, not much room for error that’s for sure! I would say I’d do it....buuuuut daaaaaam😱
Awesome. Like my Jeeps big brother lol

@@SWActiveExplorers ok thanks i have to check the 4.88 i was thinking in 4.56 and fuel economy is ok for you
Patinan las ruedas porque tienen mucho aire hay que bajarle la presión a los cauchos para que tenga mejor tracción en esa superficie
Is that a trussed Dana 30 ? Are you running chromoly shafts and u-joints ?
@tedheath2326 it's a JK Dana 30 with sleeves in the axle tube's, a truss, c gussets, and a locker. The shafts themselves are stock. I havent had any issues with it.
Ever heard of airing down? Looks like a rough and slippery ride with full psi
That is aired down. I run 10psi, this video was filmed when the tires where still new and slightly stiff.
Whats taeres ave?
whats more good manual or automatic jeep cheroke??

My advice is to go auto in the rocks. Easier on your starter.
Nice video
What size tires?
Thanks

Ok great thanks
What rear bumper do you have on the jeep? Would like one for mine

It would constantly rattle and make all kinds of noise. It drove me absolutely nuts, I ended up selling it for that exact reason.
What are you running for front axle?
The front axle is a Dana 30 out of a JK that has been sleeved, gusseted, and had a truss welded on. It has an Eaton e-locker and 4.88 gears.
@@SWActiveExplorers Thanks for the info, looks like it holds up pretty well, despite what everyone says about D30's.
One of the big reasons I think its holding up is the jk dana 30 has a larger gear set in it so they are a bit stronger.
Little more power when going over Ledges

It has JK axles in it, Dana 30 and Dana 44.
What psi are you running? Love the vid but I see no sag in those tires!
Usually between 10-12. They flex and work well however they are load range E which is why they don't look like the flex as much as most.
Dammit I love that thing! Are you still in NM?!
Yes I am
We really need to link up
What tires are you running I know you said a 37 in another video
I'm running the 37x13.50x17 copper discoverer STT PRO'S and I absolutely love them!
SW Active Explorers ive heard good things about those I thought about buying them put went with pro comp mt2s and i like them for everywhere i go
Man that thing is a beast!Did you also sleeve that front axle?
Yup, the front axle is sleeved, trussed, and has gussets and an e locker. It's also a JK axle.
@@SWActiveExplorers are you also running a jk 44 rear aswell?
Yes I am.
This is me driving thru Miramar if u know u know
Try airing down your tires. Would have made it through much easier
He was aired down to 12 psi in these videos.
This would be better without the 9 minute metal solo

Let some air out of your tires
