- The Pull-A-Part Cheap Jeep Challenge BleepinJeep vs Busted Knuckle brought to you by Tekton Tools has been awesome and it is finally time to see how these Cheap Jeep Builds stack up! We started out by spending $2000 on each cheap jeep. A Jeep Cherokee XJ for me and a Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ for Bleepie. Then we had the remaining $3k to spend on aftermarket parts. I chose to spend my money on suspension and bleepinjeep chose to spend his on built axles. We finished our cherokee builds up and met at Windrock Park in Oliver Springs, Tennessee for the final showdown. You will be as surprised as we were at how well these cheap jeep cherokees performed. you need the front locker,it pulls the rear up..
Love seeing an XJ on the trails. I picked up a 98 XJ for 1500 this year. Got a locker for the rear and have plans for this winter. It's nice to see what can be done on a budget.

Disabled Air Force veteran here, and I want that red one! It would be so great to take the wife and daughter out in the desert in to get a break from the current situation. But both of these Jeeps are sweet. Thanks for the great wheeling content, and thanks to all those guys for helping to make the competition happen. I can't wait to see more!

I have to say after building a one ton jeep I really have more fun in a basic jeep doing stuff I know I shouldn't over crawling through stuff and upset when I dont make it..
Its always more fun to root for the underdog!!

@@BustedKnuckleVideo the kids always get mad at me when I dont wanna take the wrangler on 42s out but take the xj with 31s and a welded rear to play but they don't understand the rush the challenge of making something in "nothing" that you never should have had in that spot to begin with lol
I am with you on that, I have gone from a rock bouncer to a JK on 37s to a cherokee on 35s and you can guess which one is the most fun to wheel.

Brings back great memories of my first vehicle, an 85 XJ, it was so under powered it wasn’t even funny, but momentum usually got me where I wanted to go.

That’s the beauty of an old Jeep. They just don’t know when to stop and it’s amazing what a guy can rig up to get them going to make it home. Time to goto Moab and settle it. 😁

Awesome video! Love Cherokees! Amazing how you can just have such a tight budget and build such a rock crawler. I honestly can’t decide which one is better. Love both of them. But the xj is such a classic but that zj looks so good! Both are keepers in my book! Great job guys! Enjoy.

Absolutely loving this series!! Unbelievable what that XJ can do with lunchbox up front and open rear! And HP 30’s don’t get enough credit. I friken love my XJ. I’m fully locked front and rear ARB’s, Chrome Molly’s and trussed and she is a little goat. ❤️🐞
They are crazy capable no doubt about it. I am a believer in the HP30 now as well and that 8.25 is legit as well when you weld it well enough

Cool series. I do think this makes a good point for front locker first. If your front locker had failed instead of the rear you wouldn't have made it as far and you would have had less control while doing it. There are only a few times where a locked rear and an open front do better than a locked front and open rear. Plus with the rear most times you can get away with a good factory posi.
I am more of a fan of open front and locked rear, but that is just my preference if I had to choose. I have done some crazy trails with an open front (leaky ARB)
That is nuts I've seen fully built Riggs make those challenges look hard. Ya'll made them look easy.

Was loving it, I had a 96 sport XJ ,, put a lot of money in it, and it got stolen with all my tools.. about 13000 total . Never got a thing back.
