after selecting the area with the magic stick, I press the Delet. the Background will be deleted. And in order to deselect the area hit CTR+Shift+A.

i had to go into edit on the top men then click cut sharp to remove the selection. idk what you were doing but thanks for some info

I'm sure the rest of the video was as great as the road block with CTRL + SHIFT+A (or delete for that matter) Didn't work at all.
