Beck is so underappreciated. This whole album, "Mellow Gold" is fantastic; some really great songs on there and absurd lyrics everywhere: 'Pay No Mind (Snoozer)' and 'Nightmare Hippie Girl' stand out in my head for that, in addition to this one, 'Loser'. I'd also recommend the "Guero" and "Odelay" albums almost in their entirety, and "Modern Guilt" and "Sea Change" have some awesome tunes on them, as well, and he's truly alternative - lots of different styles.
One of my favourite tracks of all time dude, I never thought of it as like rap rock that’s such an interesting view and makes sense, kinda blew my mind haha
not really rap but hes got a nice flow in this song. The band Cake has a neat little flow as well. Rap and rock meet well in the Nu-Metal genre with Linkin Park, Korn, Limp Bizkit, etc. I would recommend some more System of A Down. Songs like Spiders, Lonely Day, or Prison Song!
You say “No you’re not a loser we’re not doing that” but that is how a lot of GenX felt at the time. Struggling in collage for an education in field we weren’t interested in. Seeing no future, and no one cares.
Love your vids! This song is of its time and was tongue in cheek - no bad vibes were meant, or taken when it came out. It’s probably nonsense, but those of us in Gen X at the time that turned away from school and apprenticeships etc, were labelled ‘losers’. The song is laughing at that perception.
It's not Rap Rock. It's Beck, you can't really go that way with him. He likes unique sounds, Lyrics are second. Devils Haircut is a good track people often forget about. Lots of sampled sounds from other performers.
Why warn people not to kill themselves? Its a SONG....let Beck sing it. Stop advising people not to kill themselves....normal people already know not to do that.....again bro, let Beck sing his song.

Beck made this song to prove a point. Lyrics are just random his point is doesn't matter what you say if it sounds good people will listen
Its sweet how he is concerned about the singer sayin he's a loser.
You should try Flagpole Sitta by Harvey Danger, Distance by Cake, Dirthouse by Static-x, or Too Many Puppies by Primus.
Also, I love your content. One of my favorite Tiktok discoveries 😎
All great suggestions.
More from Beck: 2 turntables & a microphone
"where it's at"

My brudddah, Beastie boys, sabatoge
Get hip to Midnite Vultures also Beck. Blew my head off when i bought it new and still hear new stuff going on in the mix.
You are the man! Love your vibe and reactions.
“Wheres it at” may have been a better intro into BECK but meh, this is awesome too

True Love Will Find you in the End is a Cover song Beck does it’s magical touching too
Song is a beautiful oxymoron.
Edit: the video makes it the classic that it is.
just anticipating you asking: the chorus is him singing "soy un perdedor" which is spanish for "i'm a loser" lol
Always love the little spanish line he puts into the chorus "Soy un perdedor" literally just means "I'm a loser" in spanish lol
Gary Clark jr - “when my train pulls in “ is an absolute banger
Sick tune
get crazy with the cheese whiz
Lol it's funny to see him trying to wrap his head around the lyrics... it's ok dude we've been trying to do that for decades.
Welcome to holiness of indie rock

I've never felt so seen and heard before with a comment 😉
I believe this falls into the alternative rock category. I think it's early 90s or 2000s.
I think you will like listening to the song "Roll the Bones" by Rush. It's their idea of Rap!
The first time I heard this I thought he said “sore from knees to toes, I’m a loser..) 🤦🏻♀️😂
Wow I'm so early 😂 Love the content man keep it up.
Do you think you'll react to any country music? 🤔
Maybe
💪
Idk if this will be read. I need you to check out a song. It’s called “ wait in the truck” by hardy. If you can do it with the music video even better
The music is good, but the lyrics are something else.
Listen to "gamma ray" by beck
Lol. Look closer my man. It’s poetry

I cannot see the screan
Beck 2 turn tables and a microphone is a better song
Saw Beck live. He has better songs than that.
