I worked backstage at this event, and no one messed up on this set despite what it looks like. It all went according to rehearsal. Beck wanted to do a syncopated live version. At 00:27 I ask beck if he wants anything from Mcdonald's. He turns around and shakes his head, and then yells at me "no thanks for asking." He had told me earlier (multiple times and very sternly) that if anyone goes to Mcdonald's to ALWAYS ask if he's hungry, no matter the circumstances.

I think the reason most people don't like beck live is because he's just as experimental live as he is on his albums. He doesn't want to do the same song twice, when most people want it to sound exactly the same as the album version.

Beck has a unique stage presence. I was lucky enough to see him live once. He was mumbling his words and seemed a bit out of breath, but there is something riveting about him on a stage because he conveys this sense that he might just lose it any second.

Beck's a trooper. He's having a horrible seizure rendering him unable to perform but he somehow manages to go on with the show regardless.

I always come back to this video every year or so. I really like the weird solo in the beginning. Beck is a weird guy so it fits. And whatever about the goof up at soy, I think beck was really tested here and the fact that he kept going and tried to keep it entertaining was cool beans. He seems like a short fuse kinda guy, props to him for at least waiting till after the song to throw his guitar.
Also the comments are hilarious, in a good way :)

No instagram, no facebook, no snapchat, no tiktok. Just MTV and beck. Rock was sincere and unpretentious. The 90s was a century on its own.

The great thing about alternative is not how good you are at playing the guitar, it’s about the riff that kills it and reaches the point to the audience. I love it.

I'm from just outside Seattle, I've been to so many amazing shows. Red hot chili peppers, David Bowie, blue man group, Moby, Alice in chains, The Pretenders, Rob Zombie, Eminem, Korn, Green day, No Doubt, so many more I can't even remember to list!
But my #1 absolute favorite live show of all time was at the Gorge in George, Washington and BECK was the headliner. So, as many venues go, the crowd takes up so much room that not very many people from the crowd can get close. So they do the HUGE GIANT OVERHEAD screen thing. So at this particular BECK concert instead of h
