I worked backstage at this event, and no one messed up on this set despite what it looks like. It all went according to rehearsal. Beck wanted to do a syncopated live version. At 00:27 I ask beck if he wants anything from Mcdonald's. He turns around and shakes his head, and then yells at me "no thanks for asking." He had told me earlier (multiple times and very sternly) that if anyone goes to Mcdonald's to ALWAYS ask if he's hungry, no matter the circumstances.
I think the reason most people don't like beck live is because he's just as experimental live as he is on his albums. He doesn't want to do the same song twice, when most people want it to sound exactly the same as the album version.

Beck has a unique stage presence. I was lucky enough to see him live once. He was mumbling his words and seemed a bit out of breath, but there is something riveting about him on a stage because he conveys this sense that he might just lose it any second.
I really love this live version !!!!! Beck comes in with a killer intro/solo. Throughout the song, he couldn't care less what anyone else is doing. Then he finishes off by throwing his guitar at the drummer. Epic !!!
I don't think that's necessarily true. Just because someone is a lead singer doesn't give them immunity from fuck ups making it the bands job to immediately fix it.
If Beck did this live performance of Loser perfect, every single time, then it wouldnt be Loser and yes Beck can play one hell of a guitar with one hell of a unique sound!!!
