At 00:27 I ask beck if he wants anything from Mcdonald's. He turns around and shakes his head, and then yells at me "no thanks for asking." He had told me earlier (multiple times and very sternly) that if anyone goes to Mcdonald's to ALWAYS ask if he's hungry, no matter the circumstances.
I think the reason most people don't like beck live is because he's just as experimental live as he is on his albums. He doesn't want to do the same song twice, when most people want it to sound exactly the same as the album version.

If Beck did this live performance of Loser perfect, every single time, then it wouldnt be Loser and yes Beck can play one hell of a guitar with one hell of a unique sound!!!
I saw him at Lollapalooza 94 or 95 and his set was awful. I read that he had a weird approach to shows back then and it was not a fan-friendly experience.

The crazy thing about Beck is he records his vocals understated. When you see him live, you get to appreciate just how amazing a vocalist and instrumentalist he is... He has pipes! I've seen him three times now - never disappoints. He also loves to mix up his songs from his back catalog a bit. Love this version!

He is obviously in a mood, perhaps becouse of playing in that sun, and you see, that the band did a joke, not coming into first chorus along with him, maybe to cheer him up, maybe just to jerk off. Also its so obvious that he signals drummer to stop, not to continue, maaan.
As a drummer myself i would have taken that nod as a cue to end it too. typically a nod means go on to the next section or phrase, in this case the end.
