Yes me too. I even wrote it in my review for ultrakill that I loved this game more than doom eternal.. it’s magnificent! I also don’t know how they can make the game any better, it’s already in S tier. How they will make it harder with more difficulties I can’t imagine..
It's on par with Eternal for me. I liked the brutal kills but they feel mandatory in Eternal and somewhat kill the pace. getting health back in Ultrakill is more satisfying and honestly harder.
The second alt for the shotgun only explodes if you overcharge it, pumping the shotgun two or three times just gives you a more powerful attack without blowing up in your face.

The most surreal moment in gaming is when you first enter limbo in this game. You are expecting something dark, empty, and you get...peace. Well, at first it looks that way, but when you take a second looks its hollow, empty peace. Such an amazing moment, yet so simple.
I love how they make you slow down there too. Gives you a chance to look around, explore a little, solve a puzzle. A weird little breather after all this crazy nonstop action. Then boom they drop the beat and get you right back to shootin. So cool.

I really like the review and thought is covered a lot of stuff; but there are a few things you got a bit wrong or missed out on. - Not only there are weapons with multiple modes, there will be alternate versions of said weapons. (such as a single action revolver rather than regular revolver) - The game is not being developed by New Blood but by a single person which are the likes of Arsi "Hakida" Patala, New Blood became the publisher as they took interest in Ultrakill - The Pump Charge (the green mode for the shotgun) only explodes when you load all 4 shells into it; you need to count the shells you load into it (3 being the max without hurting yourself) - The Railgun doesn't have only one mode but three which the others are the Drill (a shot that does continuous damage to one enemy) and Malice (an explosive shot) Other than that, really good review.

Especially when it comes to the shotgun. That beautiful, beautiful shotgun. The railgun stuff I cut to tighten up the video, maybe not the best choice. However I don't think I would have mentioned the alt revolver only because its a secret and I try to be mindful of spoilers. But I will go over the alt weapons in the next review as I'm expecting the other weapons to receive alternates too and it will be hard to ignore... You know a game is good when your parents ask you and are intrested.My mom dies a lot in it but she still likes it,for her it's a stress relivier.If it ever gets something like a multiplayer or lan mode my mom and dad are gonna be really happy.
That is awesome! Thats an Ultra mom right there. I remember back in the day I got my Dad into playing Unreal Tournament and the original Call of Duty. It was kind of the same thing, they were good stress relievers and he enjoyed how fast they were.
I have played this game far too much since EA release. Everything about Ultrakill has checked off all the marks of an amazing game for me. I'm not sure if this or Eternal are my GOTY. Great video man! Can't wait to see more!

Ultrakill is in early access phase and its already best game of 2020. I already had 30+ hours on demo and now i'm trying to perfect act 1. Also you can not only parry projectiles but also bites of armless enemies. Which is really mind blowing how much you can do in this game.
Style, Tech, Fury... Side note: you can actually dodge the shotgun explosion you just have to dodge away from it, and while were on the shotgun you can punch its spread if I remember correctly

I'm surprised you didn't mention the Lust boss at all. He's by far one of my favorites. Loving this game so far. I really want to see what it has to offer in the future.
I was just nervous about spoilers, but I guess New Blood has been using him in their promotion so I guess it wouldn't have been a big deal. But yeah great boss , another big Dante's Inferno reference too. I'm really excited to see how Act 2 and 3 turn out. I expect them to be over the top crazy.

It's innacurate but hilariously accurate that you said that the railgun has a several minute cooldown. If I remember correctly, it's 20 seconds, but damn does it feel like a year.

3:35 pumping the shotgun only twice gives you a payload twice as strong as just shooting it normally, so that's nice. Pumping it thrice causes the explosion, and while this might seem bad, with good timing you can dash to DODGE YOUR OWN SELF DESTRUCT, removing the downside entirely. It's also required to get some secrets as it's a very strong rocket jump.
Not mentioned, or i missed, but: - Shotgun shot can be PUNCHED FOR EXPLOSION when you shooting main fire; - Coins have split-shot action in right timing, short window on toss, and larger before falling on floor; - Explosive alt can be dodged, or used for skipping chunk of level, or achieving secrets.
Wait.. did i just get recommended good content? By RUclips? Unbelievable! Jokes aside, this was an amazing review, youre very well spoken and shared alot of my thoughts on the game! The only nitpick i have is that the Revolver has 3 fire modes, not 2. You should check out that Rune door in the level 1-4 on the Left side of the Main hall ;D

The game just got an update that gave a challenge to 3-1, which previously did not have one. I don't feel like spending hours to try and kill a Mindflayer with acid right now.
Playing through the demo, I can see inspirations from many design philosophies. The way you get health back and boss designs along with difficulty and traps give me a strong Bloodborne vibe. Spliced with DMC and Quake 2, it's got a lot more depth than "shooty shooty bang bang" and I'll be buying it. Its amazing the games we're getting. Console fanboys upset because Halo didn't look next gen enough and boomer fans literally want options in their games to make them look worse. These throwback devs are really going against the grain, games are about fun and all AAA wants is the game to look nice
I love that Hardstyle music! I just got the demo and I admit, I suck at this game right now. I want to get better. The shift button used for Dashing and the Ctrl for slide feels awkward to my hand. I feel like I'm just bouncing around, jumping, trying to get away from enemies and trying not to die, instead of killing them.
ultrakill has by far the most creative combat where everything has a use in hell some of the most effective dps comes from rail coining (each coin bounce adds some damage)

Thank you! You know there is a free demo available if you want to try it out. New Blood games are typically pretty kind when it comes to PC specs. Who knows? Maybe you still got some of those Pong reflexes 😉 I would have loved to been around back then to watch gaming take its first steps. I was around when it made the transition from 2D to 3D which I feel really lucky to have witnessed.
This game manages to be the goofiest shit while being taking itself seriously. Lorewise, it's deep and intriguing. Gameplaywise its fucking crazy, what other game can you find where you can PUNCH your own shotgun pellets to make them explode???
I bought this on launch and have about 100 hours in it. it is honestly my personal game of the year. Im kinda disappointing that you didnt point out the absurdity that this game pulls while still keeping skill and balance. the fact you can punch your own shotgun bullets to give them more damage adds a layer of rewarding skill that not may other games even try to attempt not to mention the coin ricochet not only requires a lot of skill but can be used by things other than just your own revolver (hint hint). the ability to tag an enemy with a magspike then hold them in place with another magspike shot at a wall is just plain awesome. this game is nothing short of a blessing in this utterly cursed year.
Just a nitpick. The Divine Comedy and the Inferno are NOT the same. The Inferno is just one of three parts of the Divine Comedy, followed by Purgatory and Paradise. I've had a blast with this I must say. I'm really curious to see how the circles of Violence and Fraud will be handled here, because Fraud in Dante's Inferno (the game)... meh.
A fair nitpick! I could have worded that a little better 😁 I feel like violence is going to be nuts. The game is already over the top violent, so a series of levels with that theme just sounds like madness.
I pirated this game to get some inspiration for my own project... I am buying it now... Such a blast of a game... Unsettling, violent, simple yet so actionful. Defenitelly recommended for those who seek action-shooting at its finest
hey if you dash you become invincible for a fraccion of a second so if you dash and ang use the charge up you wont take damage and you will obliterate the enemies
Small UK facts: 1-4 contains a secret gun that is gotten through secrets in the other levels of Limbo. The railgun can electrify nailgun bullets. The shotgun shots can be parried as they come out to make one of the pellets explode. Anything hitscan can be ricocheted off of a coin, even railgun shots. Punch the coin. Do it. Shoot the coin when it flashes (there's a timing) to split the shot into two, dealing double damage. BLOOD IS FUEL... FOR MY COCK
3:36 sorry but ya missed the mark on this specific weapon, you're supposed to only charge it twice per shot for a more powerful shotgun blast at the cost of a bit of time and if you accidentally charge 3 times you have to switch in order to not blow up, they balanced it that way so that you wouldn't just use the secondary shotgun
You miss the mark even harder than he does lol. You can dash out of the explosion and it's super useful in blowing up hordes and instakilling Mindflayers.

i was super dissapointed with the bosses in doom eternal, especially after playing ultrakill. The bosses here are really good and require you to use your entire toolkit to beat them which is something i felt wasn't present in doom

( F for humans, D for mediums and psychics, C for low level demons, B as the highest for humans and medium for demons, A for very powerful demons or Yusuke since hes a hybrid, S for Elites, and E I think was for whomever is King or some shit lol) AM I RIGHT?!
I did enjoy the demo, but why should I play this instead of Doom Eternal? (Not tryna sound rude I'm actually curious, I do like retro graphics but I prefer the look of Doom Eternal personally. Is there more replayability here or? I'm just wondering why the Steam reviews are 99% positive, there has got to be something im misisng lol)
Let's just say the bosses of this game are fucking insane. The demo cuts off before you get to see any major boss. Another thing is that the weapon creativity is insane. Did you know you can punch your shotgun pellets to make them fly faster and explode on contact? That you can overpump green shotgun and dash out of the explosion? That you can instakill a malicious face by throwing a coin at it before it fire the explosive laser? The speed and mobility is also really satisfying. You can slide, dash, wall jump, slam, and the new update just added a grappling hook. You can boost yourself to ridiculous speed with explosions. High level gameplay is insanely chaotic and insanely fun. Finally, there's the ranking system. Aside from the rating, there's a door that can only be opened by P-ranking (max rank) all stages in act 1 so it's a motivation to return to early stages and do better.
Its just extremely fun and has a fast flow, the other layers just add more replayability to getting the P rank to unlock the secret boss, its just more content that multiplies the fun.
Oh yeah, the charged shotgun (where you can kamikaze yourself) is not what you're supposed to do You're just supposed to charge it where its red solid, not blinking
Nah, you can dodge out of a full charge, and it's super useful for dealing with hordes of enemies. Also explosion boost but that's only for speedrunners.
Oh man the finger cramps were real after that boss. Yeah they could tone that second form a little, but not too much. I liked that they had me playing at full speed with that one.

If you're familiar with Dante's work, you'll know that Limbo isn't that bad a place to be. The real punishment of being there is boredom, mostly.

Not mentioned, or i missed, but:
- Shotgun shot can be PUNCHED FOR EXPLOSION when you shooting main fire;
- Coins have split-shot action in right timing, short window on toss, and larger before falling on floor;
- Explosive alt can be dodged, or used for skipping chunk of level, or achieving secrets.

Playing through the demo, I can see inspirations from many design philosophies. The way you get health back and boss designs along with difficulty and traps give me a strong Bloodborne vibe. Spliced with DMC and Quake 2, it's got a lot more depth than "shooty shooty bang bang" and I'll be buying it.
Its amazing the games we're getting. Console fanboys upset because Halo didn't look next gen enough and boomer fans literally want options in their games to make them look worse. These throwback devs are really going against the grain, games are about fun and all AAA wants is the game to look nice

I love that Hardstyle music! I just got the demo and I admit, I suck at this game right now. I want to get better. The shift button used for Dashing and the Ctrl for slide feels awkward to my hand. I feel like I'm just bouncing around, jumping, trying to get away from enemies and trying not to die, instead of killing them.
ultrakill has by far the most creative combat where everything has a use in hell some of the most effective dps comes from rail coining (each coin bounce adds some damage)
the divine comedy is actually inferno (hell), purgatorio (purgatory), and paradiso (heaven) - inferno is just the first part

I would have loved to been around back then to watch gaming take its first steps. I was around when it made the transition from 2D to 3D which I feel really lucky to have witnessed.

Im kinda disappointing that you didnt point out the absurdity that this game pulls while still keeping skill and balance. the fact you can punch your own shotgun bullets to give them more damage adds a layer of rewarding skill that not may other games even try to attempt not to mention the coin ricochet not only requires a lot of skill but can be used by things other than just your own revolver (hint hint). the ability to tag an enemy with a magspike then hold them in place with another magspike shot at a wall is just plain awesome. this game is nothing short of a blessing in this utterly cursed year.

Just a nitpick. The Divine Comedy and the Inferno are NOT the same. The Inferno is just one of three parts of the Divine Comedy, followed by Purgatory and Paradise.
I've had a blast with this I must say. I'm really curious to see how the circles of Violence and Fraud will be handled here, because Fraud in Dante's Inferno (the game)... meh.

hey if you dash you become invincible for a fraccion of a second so if you dash and ang use the charge up you wont take damage and you will obliterate the enemies

Small UK facts:
1-4 contains a secret gun that is gotten through secrets in the other levels of Limbo.
The railgun can electrify nailgun bullets.
The shotgun shots can be parried as they come out to make one of the pellets explode.
Anything hitscan can be ricocheted off of a coin, even railgun shots.
Punch the coin. Do it.
Shoot the coin when it flashes (there's a timing) to split the shot into two, dealing double damage.

3:36 sorry but ya missed the mark on this specific weapon, you're supposed to only charge it twice per shot for a more powerful shotgun blast at the cost of a bit of time and if you accidentally charge 3 times you have to switch in order to not blow up, they balanced it that way so that you wouldn't just use the secondary shotgun
You miss the mark even harder than he does lol. You can dash out of the explosion and it's super useful in blowing up hordes and instakilling Mindflayers.

i was super dissapointed with the bosses in doom eternal, especially after playing ultrakill. The bosses here are really good and require you to use your entire toolkit to beat them which is something i felt wasn't present in doom

I did enjoy the demo, but why should I play this instead of Doom Eternal? (Not tryna sound rude I'm actually curious, I do like retro graphics but I prefer the look of Doom Eternal personally. Is there more replayability here or? I'm just wondering why the Steam reviews are 99% positive, there has got to be something im misisng lol)
Let's just say the bosses of this game are fucking insane. The demo cuts off before you get to see any major boss.
Another thing is that the weapon creativity is insane. Did you know you can punch your shotgun pellets to make them fly faster and explode on contact? That you can overpump green shotgun and dash out of the explosion? That you can instakill a malicious face by throwing a coin at it before it fire the explosive laser?
The speed and mobility is also really satisfying. You can slide, dash, wall jump, slam, and the new update just added a grappling hook. You can boost yourself to ridiculous speed with explosions. High level gameplay is insanely chaotic and insanely fun.
Finally, there's the ranking system. Aside from the rating, there's a door that can only be opened by P-ranking (max rank) all stages in act 1 so it's a motivation to return to early stages and do better.
Its just extremely fun and has a fast flow, the other layers just add more replayability to getting the P rank to unlock the secret boss, its just more content that multiplies the fun.

Nah, you can dodge out of a full charge, and it's super useful for dealing with hordes of enemies. Also explosion boost but that's only for speedrunners.

Oh man the finger cramps were real after that boss. Yeah they could tone that second form a little, but not too much. I liked that they had me playing at full speed with that one.
