Actually the final boss was by far the easiest in the entire game, which was a surprise considering it took me a 100 times the first time I met this character in limbo. The second time around it took me less than a dozen tries. I just used the drill as soon as he spawned, followed by the 2 kinds of nail guns (while staying as close to him as possible for regen). Then the rest was just shotguns and 1 final rail shot. The trick is to tank his damage through health regen and stick to that mother like glue. Maybe the boss was rebalanced since I played it in October 2021 but that is how I felt. After how ball busting-ly hard it was to get to that point it was weird how easy the fight was.
Fun fact, all of the sand in greed (including the stalker's bomb) isn't regular eroded rock, it's gold dust. That's how it gets hot enough to be lethal to the touch.
Greed has been an absolute treat with the new mechanics and enemies it presents. The whiplash is easily one of my favorite additions. I would have mentioned the split-shot mechanic with the default marksman because that's easily one of the most powerful tools in the players hands. Another great video Kirk, keep it up!
After i played act 1 i said to myself that i would wait until all acts are out so that i can enjoy this game in its full glory, but it's so damn addicting that i keep visiting every small update
As a heads up Kirk, the normal revolver is still really good since if you time it correctly, it will ricochet into two shots instead of one, great for room clearing or taking out multiple flamethrowers. When the coin flashes after flicking it is when you shoot it or if you let it sing (falling sfx) then you get an additional effect along with its damage, if you shoot it with the alternate revolver, it will increase its piercing power. If you shoot it with the normal revolver, it will split into two.
Just a side note whiplash when used on larger enemies: Virtue, Malicious Face, and Cerberus actually pulls you towards the enemy giving the player great ways of neutralizing them first.
@@KIRKCOLLECTS Haha no problem, also there is a really cool easter egg in 4-2, is a dead stalker, if you find it shoot him and see what happens 😈, also to find him, i will give you a hint: make the level be night instead of day and go to the liberty statue
It’s also worth mentioning weapon “combos” such as hitting a coin with the blue Railcannon, enemies that have nails in them take bonus explosion damage from the blue Railcanon, and the shotgun ‘s core eject can be hit by hitscan attacks for an even bigger explosion (that one is new).
You can also overpump the shotgun and shift as soon as you shoot (or a tiny second before I am not sure) and you will i-frame the boom and still destroy a bunch of enemies! Also if you shift->slide then you retain the invincibility frames from the dash until your slide ends (you just gotta slide fast after shift), letting you slide into a pack of enemies and blow them up on top of yourself without taking damage, you even get healed. It's so. Damn. Fun.
Good video, makes me want to retry it. I was terrible at act 1 but I'll restart it to see if my skills got any better. That dark labyrinth with the Slenderman was where I quit.
Ive seen the pump shotgun's overload mechanic mentioned in a lotta review video's and all of them mention that you just "blow yourself up" if you over pump it. Consider this. Your dash gives you I-Frames.
I figured out the boost punch when I fought the Archangel for the first time. That fight is so frantic that eventually I was meleeing and shooting at the same time and then I realized what I was doing
I love how you brought up the Stalker enemy as a reference to the game franchise's name sake! Also Ultrakill's double and beyond weapon power up is a clear reference to Blood's Guns Akimbo on steroids! Boy I hate the lava temperature sand and the sand enemies that don't bleed! Next thing I know either Sloth or Wrath will introduce kamikaze suicide type enemies!
note that the real power of the coins arent in using it with the slab/alt revolver. With the regular revolver, when the coin "shines" or "sings" and the shots are timed the bullet will split, killing two enemies at once, this is power since its such a satisfiying and deadly tool to eliminate groups of enemies whilst still being efficient. The Slab/alt revolver cant do this, so it's best treated as a smaller railcannon.
another thing is as long as you can track them, the whiplash can be used over and over on the same enemy to keep yourself in midair alongside them while you hit them with point-blank weapon combos so Hakita's essentially added DMC jump cancelling to a first person shooter
Sad part is you can actually dash cancel from the shotgun blast on the pumpcharge, completely negating the "hail mary" and risk of it, only making it even more devastating and potent.
@@suto9233 It's a timing thing that's surprisingly generous, because even if you get the horde to come near ya when you do it, even the slightest fuckups are negated by the blood you fucking shamwow up.

as a person on august 16 2022 almost 10am pst and has seen the teasers for act 2, greed is like that meme where squidward eats a tiny piece of crabby patty, act 2 is like going from eye distortion to lsd. its such a massive step up in the game
Hey Kirk, another great video. Just wondering, do you ever plan to review Prey (2017)? I really enjoy it, but don't see too many people talk about it, and I'd love to hear your thoughts. Also I'd love for you to do a video on the history of immersive sims, similar to your boomer shooter video.
It'd probably be better if he covered all prime sanctums in one video when they're all out. Or cover them if he does a full game review when it launches.
also you can dash at the right time to avoid damage from your overcharged shotgun and constantly switch variations to eliminate the cooldown when doing self parries
Please allow me to fix you a little bit in the weapon refresh part. There are actually 2 types of revolvers: Default revolvers and Alternate revolvers (Or as the community prefer to call - Slab revolvers). Both of these types include Piercer and Marksman. As you have said, Slab Revolvers deal much more damage than the default revolvers but has remarkably slower fire rate. Marksmans alt tosses a coin. And if the coin is shot in a specific time frame (often called "split time") it will does the following: 1. If shot by a default revolver of any kind during split time, the coin will split to attack multiple enemies at once. For 1 coin it would be 2, for 2 coins both at split time it would be 3, 3 would be 4 and 4 would be 5. 2. If shot by a slab revolver of any kind during split time, the coin will multiply/add the damage of that revolver to the next coin or just deal massive damage to the enemies. The coins hold infinite potential throughout the whole game. Punching the same coin multiple times without having it hitting the ground can also multiply its damage, hence the infinite potential. The rest of the refresh is accurate, there are more tricks to these weapons, but we gotta hold some stuff for gamers to find out.
Contributing with a comment, but great work correcting mistakes from last review and also covering the new content. The hard hitting revolver is actually called the slab revolver, and the coin variant is called the marksman And did you forget to mention mirage?
Tip for the coins: if you have bad aim with the coins you can just look up, throw the coin and shoot it, if you get in terrpted you can throw another coin to actually shoot it
Maybe it will help you: a stock revolver can do "split shots" when shooting a coin with the right timing, it shoot's two enemies at the same time. Slab (alternative) doesn't have that, instead it penetrates enemies (or hits them multiple times). So my recommendation is to have slab pierce shot and stock coins.
I think the power of coins comes with their speed, so base marksman plays to that aspect. Additionally, the slab piercer actually does more damage but has a longer cool down, so if you're using marksman most of the time having slab piercer gives you a nice high-damage option
i must say i disagree with the last statement about the moss fight (wont spoil for those who don't know) I play standard currently going for the full p screen, but that fight was not very hard if anything it should be made a lot more difficult
Shooting core eject (alt fire blue shotgun) with a revolver will explode and deal twice damage however shooting it with malicious railcannon will double the explosion radius
0:49 say what you will about the update, but I think V1 Has plenty of batteries right In front of him. Also at 8:18 this fight is really buggy. I had to unfortunately sacrifice my perfect run with a restart because he jumped into the air and didn't come down
Another thing I like about Virtues is that they take *ridiculous* damage from the nailguns, a weapon I dont' normally use. Shotguns pale in comparison to just getting in their face and blasting them with nails.
You go through a level and the enemies will spawn on the set places, and you usually have to kill all enemies to go. There's also an arena gamemode "cybergrind"
spoilers for greed boss battle : do you really think V2(violent) was to hard on this iteration if anything i think the first phase was a let down and the chase was kind of easy since you can just stick to him all the time , it looked really cool tho but i felt it lacking on difficulty compare to the insurrectionist and gabe anyway wanna hear what everybody else thinks about it
