Hi! We are Eric and Sarah, a couple of Canadians currently travelling around Ecuador. We’ve been married since 2017 but have known each other since we were only 6 years old! During our last year of university, we spent 4 months in Honduras on a semester abroad and fell in love with Latin America. Since then, we began planning and saving to do an extensive Latin America tour. 2020 delayed those plans by half a year but during this time stuck in BC, we explored a new hobby (like everyone in the pandemic) of videography and photography. We are now using our new skills to document our adventures around Ecuador. Our desire through these videos is to provide helpful and inspiring content for other travelers while also showing people around the world how beautiful and underrated Ecuador truly is! What made you choose Ecuador?. We are planning a trip I. October...been researching for 1.5 yrs
Ecuador seemed like a good place for many reasons!
- It’s a very diverse country in terms of geography and biology (they call it the country of 4 worlds). So there’s lots to explore!
- they are on the US Dollar, which is easy conversion (not super critical, but was nice)
- and actually one thing was that we heard their health care system was really good. So if we needed any medical attention, we would (a) be well taken care of and (b) would not be a burden on the system during the pandemic!

I was in ecuador and stayed with the Krisnas. I sold stuff in the park on weekends with local artisens. Misne was beautiful channel island and galapagos turtles came ashore.

Who said you need a certificate? No certificate is needed to enter USA/Ecuador, just a negative COVID test 3 days prior.
The people at Vancouver airport check-in. But this was almost four months ago now so Canada wasn’t used to people travelling other than for work so most people coming through had a negative test AND a signed certificate from a doctor. But thankfully we knew that wasn’t required so we discussed it and all was well :)
In Jan 2022, do you have to be vaxxed to enter Ecu via plane ?

@@EricandSarah .... if you visit please visit SAN Antonio it is where all the artesianos is the people that do lots with wood carving. They have amazing stuff. From SAN Antonio to my husband little town is five minutes it is called Tanguarin.. Have lots of fun.. where are you leaving? In Quito? Or Cotacachi? This town is very well know from the gringos...😉😉😉😉

it is fantastic that you have done such a great step, I am contacting you because I live in mission few minutes from abby . I am few years from retirement and I am planning to go to south america to retire. In fact I am fluent in spanish and I have double nationality. I never been in Peru or Ecuador or Colombia. which one is cheaper , and which one is easier to emigrate as a retiree. Do you know ?
