Hi! We are Eric and Sarah, a couple of Canadians currently travelling around Ecuador. We’ve been married since 2017 but have known each other since we were only 6 years old! During our last year of university, we spent 4 months in Honduras on a semester abroad and fell in love with Latin America. Since then, we began planning and saving to do an extensive Latin America tour. 2020 delayed those plans by half a year but during this time stuck in BC, we explored a new hobby (like everyone in the pandemic) of videography and photography. We are now using our new skills to document our adventures around Ecuador. Our desire through these videos is to provide helpful and inspiring content for other travelers while also showing people around the world how beautiful and underrated Ecuador truly is! Don't forget - part of the hype of Los Frailes is the fact that being protected, there are no homes or stores (other than the visitor center) and no malecón. The beach head is totally natural. This is what truly makes it special, and makes it the cleanest beach in Ecuador. The hiking trails are awesome too, but I think they were closed when you visited. If you find yourself in the neighborhood again, give me a shout. I live in the village of Machalilla, 12 Km north of Puerto Lopez and short distance from Los Frailes and Agua Blanca. Keep up the good work!

Great videos. Los frailes is beautiful on a clear day. However you definitely can roast when it's clear.. My favorite beach so far that can be reached by public transport (plane to the galapagos Islands, speed boat )is to Isabela Island. You can hang out there at a hostel that fits whatever budget. In May the water is warm, but in october it's freezing.. Enjoy 🇪🇨.

Hahaha glad you think so cause Sarah could not stop laughing while editing the last part. It’s impossible to watch it and not laugh. Haha. And Dutch hardbar is bigger than all of us. The sooner the world knows it the better ✊

Definitely one of the most underrated places to visit. Why did you skip manta and Santa Marianita ? You missed all the sun.

The water depends on the place! If swimming in a bay, it's much warmer but the open ocean beaches tend to be a bit colder. We find all of it all quite warm though because we're used to Canadian ocean water haha!

It is the best beach (apart from Galapagos) in better weather, but getting in the ocean and walking around is awesome anytime. And Agua blanca, you guys missed the mud massage. Its just 10 USD each and you become all black and relax and your skin afterwards gets pretty nice. Hopefully you get back and experience all of it. Btw, great choice, Ecuador is just awesome and all of us welcome you with open arms

Los Frailes has always had that early closing time, unfortunately you need to get there pretty early to enjoy the most of it. You did miss the better beach there though. If you followed that beach to the observation deck there is a path that leads to a cove with black sand. The water there barely moves and it’s so great to swim in. I think that ones the best beach there.

Are u kidding me? Los Frailes is the most beautiful place I’ve seen, also is a National Reserve, FYI, Machalilla is the 2nd oldest culture in Ecuador dated from 5000 years ago , first one is Valdivia almost 10.000 years, is not just abt the beach is abt a wonderful history nice video anyways.

Good eye! The property is owned by a couple - Ecuadorian and Swiss
The music is too loud. My preference is more real-life takes - street-life; less touristy clips. And, please, less music.
We appreciate the feedback! Unfortunately our style is including music in our videos and showing people what things there are to do in Ecuador (which includes some touristy places). So your type of video might not match our style of video.

@@EricandSarah I appreciate your reply. However, I'm looking to see real-life in Ecuador. There are tons of videos that show the usual tourist hot spots in other countries. I like viewing real-life natives and their surroundings. Having said that, I wish you success in your courageous ventures.
