    ML Sound Lab breaks new territory by expanding from guitar solutions with the release of ML Drums - our very own drum sampler. The aim was to create the easiest virtual drum sampler with the versatility to also meet the needs of professional studios. Finally we have drum samples done with the ML Sound Lab secret sauce: capturing the sound perfectly at the source so there's no need to fix it in the mix. Natural sounds with no gimmicks.
    ML Drums is a modular drum sampler platform where the initial release comes with a FREE DRUM KIT. You can continue expanding the kit to your liking by purchasing the add-ons you are interested in. Start expanding the kit with ML Drums Essentials.

    "Routing is super easy, barely an inconvenience". And I agree that this is The best software drum kit ever. Just the "No Kontakt" draws attention. Then, no messing around with weird UI. Every other, you wanna change one piece, you need to go through a lot coz all it matter is the cosmetics. This is just a drop-down menu on which piece you wanna change. Brilliant!

      Thank you Gabriel! Doing our own loader was a lot of work, but we're really happy with the flexibility it provides us. DAWs like Reaper and Studio One are barely two-click affairs to engage the Multi-Output routing with pre-named channels and everything. Super simple!

    By far the easiest,cleanest, and most real sounding drum library that I own. It's my go to for sure. Not too mention not having to deal with kontakt. Wow. Imo... That's my favorite aspect. Lol. I cannot wait to hear future libraries. If they release separate samples to ad to the library... This instrument will be unmatched. In my own humble opinion... Thank you ML for developing these and making them super super affordable. WELL worth the 💰 and then some

    d0oOOoOoooD! These sound AMAZING. First cymbals I've ever heard that sound like...you know...cymbals...without all the boxiness I hear in most other libraries. And the drum tuning? Perfect! But the cherry on top....the presets. These are literally ready to go out of the box and with the smart way you incorporated the mapping presets, anyone can be up and running with any of the presets in seconds. Kudos ML!

    I already have 2 huge GGD libraries, but for this price, I might consider getting this one as well. The Sound is very nice, the UI is super clean and intuitive and the kit itself looks killer!
    Only things I think I miss, are snare top/bottom controls and parallel compression, but I might have missed them due to skipping a few seconds here :D But even if they're not available, it's still a great library, especially for this price!

    • @mlsoundlab
      @mlsoundlab  2 года назад +2

      Definitely give it a try. We're definitely going for a different sound with the kick and snare than anything that's out there so at least it'll bring you variety. We really want that natural ring and sustain of the drums themselves without gimmicks. We will be adding a bunch of features as we go - this is the initial launch and we're looking forward to building the platform while keeping the ease of use like it is.

    Needs a double kick kit with more rack toms!
    Fast double bass programmed on a single kick ends up with the 'machine gun' issue. If you have two kicks you can detune one slightly to make it sound more natural.

    • @mlsoundlab
      @mlsoundlab  4 месяца назад +1

      Thanks for the suggestions! One thing that can help with this is to map the kick drum to two separate MIDI notes - this way you can lower the velocities on the non-dominant foot pretty easily, which will give a nice variation to the sound, akin to using a real double kick pedal.

    Lovely to get a decent drumkit for free. One day when I finally have the money, I'll get that Mikko's Plexi. I thought plugins don't have that huge of a difference, but then I played the trial of Mikko's Plexi. I don't know what it is, but it has some quality that no other plexi plugin has, and that has to be one of the most popular amps to simulate. It has that rawness and bite that your favourite old records or videos about loud plexis have.

    • @mlsoundlab
      @mlsoundlab  2 года назад +2

      Yes you can and that is one of the big reasons why we wanted to build our own platform - to make multi-outs as easy as clicking a few buttons. You will simply have to create more outputs for the virtual instrument. This happens differently depending on the DAW. I will likely make a video showing how it's done just to be sure.

    I currently use SSD 5.5, but have been open to trying others since committing there. I downloaded the trial and it was quick to load and not horrible on the CPU. The stock sounds are cool and the way you can manipulate them is also easy and innovative. I appreciate little things like auto-gain matching with one dial compression. Looks like you have the makings of a winner here. We'll see as I go further down this rabbit hole. One thing before I skate, I don't see any information on youtube yet on setting up multi-output. I've tried by selecting the 9 (stereo) option as opposed to stereo, but it makes no difference. Im sure there's something Im missing. Any direction there would be great.

    • @mlsoundlab
      @mlsoundlab  2 года назад +1

      Thank you so much for the interest Nate! Judging by the 9(stereo) option you're receiving, I assume you're on Logic Pro? If so, open up the Mixer tab, and hit the + button on the ML Drums channel to create new tracks. They'll all be pre-routed, you just have to name them accordingly (as you see them in the Mixer tab of ML Drums). If that doesn't solve it for you, let me know!

      Reaper should automatically prompt you to create new channels for each of the outputs, which you'll then see in the Mixer window. If not, you should be able to manually enable the outputs in the routing tab in the top-right corner of the plugin window (note: it's in Reaper's UI, just outside of the ML Drums UI). Plugin sounds great! But when I plug in my Carlsbro Okto A, half the pads don’t trigger anything. Mainly the two toms and ride.
    Im not good at this, how do I set that up?
    Didnt have to do it before, since EZdrummer always had it set right away.

      Open up the MIDI tab, then hit the record button next to the kit pieces that aren't working, followed by the relevant pieces on your kit. It should assign them from there, so you can then save it as your MIDI map. Let us know if that doesn't work for you though, we'll happily help you out some more!

    • @mlsoundlab

      Thanks for mentioning it! Unfortunately due to the nature of the kits having different pieces, the mapping will never line up perfectly, so grooves may have to be adjusted for the kit. That said, please let us know which kit pieces in particular aren't triggering properly and I'll see if we need to update the mapping!

    How do I open it as a stand alone? I can get it to run through Presonus but not as a stand alone. I hope I'm asking the question correctly. But yeah I can get the app to open and I can hit the drums, but no sequencer or map. Do I have to download one? Sorry for the dumb questions but I'm slowly getting away from my tascam, or I would like to send my beats to my tascam. One or the other. Lol. Hey Jeff! There's no pre-loaded beats in the standalone ML Drums, you'll need to use something external to trigger it, such as a MIDI controller or E-Kit. The only way for ML Drums to read readymade beats is using MIDI patterns in your DAW.
