Thank you so much! This first release is really going for non-metal genres as well: Funk Rock ~ Red Hot Chili Peppers. Rap Rock ~ Rage Against The Machine. Pop Punk ~ Paramore Riot and so on but yes it's leaning more toward aggressive drum sounds. The awesome thing about this platform is that we can make anything mix-and-matchable within ML Drums and there's more to come hopefully soon!

One thing i think ML Drums should have is a feature to pan cymbals
It makes me laugh how something this good sounding and dead-simple comes out just at the right time, as i started searching for a suitable drum pluging for a project that i'm about to start. Instant buy after hearing it. Thank you.
A sub-kick mic might be a cool addition in the future, that's about the only thing i can't think of right now. That, and additional low tunings for toms. 👌
Oh yeah, and some kind of "power meter" would be just great for the MIDI tab, so you could audition the different hit velocities with mouse clicks too. Personally i like being able to see the each velocity level in numbers, too, it helps with programming drums.

Are the kit pieces in the free version just as detailed (number of velocity layers, number of round robins) as the paid Essentials kit pieces?

Oh most definitely.. pretty much all demos we've made on this channel during the past 2 years or so are some form of ML Drums in beta. 😉
absolutely love that there are no system requirements listed but there ARE system requirements. doesn't run on MacOS 10.13
Ever so sorry for the inconvenience, we're looking into the possibility of improving our compatibility with future updates, but for now it requires MacOS 10.15 or later.

I'm looking for an inexpensive alternative to easy drummer or IK Modo drums to use with my Roland TD17 Kit as a controller. would this work OK? Are they zone assignable for rimshots, open/closed, edge crown hits my 3 zone ride cymbal, etc.?
Hi, ML D is a nice art work I just got the essentials though I don't know anything at all about recording nor mixing, much less playing drums, I'm more a vocalist and guitarist. Could you tell me how to snare rim... or how can I find it in the MIDI menu please?
The snare rimshots will be the harder hits of the main snare articulation, there's no dedicated snare rim articulation.

How to install & Paste License
Copy the license code from your order email into the Shop tab of the plugin and it should unlock for you!

Thank you! They're processed enough to be usable without post-processing, while also raw enough that you can add additional processing in post fairly easily. Hope this helps you out!

They are! You can use these with no post-processing applied and still get killer results!

Our release video is the Post-Grunge preset without any post processing. It is using the higher pitched snare from Essentials. Very mix ready!

How do they work with electronic drums?
Should just be able to enable your E-Kit in the settings tab, then hit the MIDI learn button next to each hit and follow up by hitting the corresponding hit on your E-Kit. Once you've done that for all kit pieces, save your MIDI preset and you should be good to go!

It sounds really great!:) Even though I'm not a drummer I'm kinda missing 3rd rack tom.:( :D I'm so used to it.:D And have second crash on left side would be great too (and 2nd kick and maybe ride on left too...:D), but that's just me.:D Maybe in the future.:D But one thing that maybe would be better is different background. I don't know why but it feels little bit wierd to me. But hey, sound is much more important and that is top notch.:) Keep the great work guys!:)

I bought an upgrade but I not able to insert the license code.
If your license code is invalid, it's likely that your request key in the plugin doesn't match the request key in your shop tab. Just shoot us an email through the contact form on our site with the correct request key from the shop tab and we'll have you sorted out with a new license soon after!

Sounds though like the snare only has the round center hits, and does not come with any rimshots, which is a shame :/ other than that, sounds good!
The loudest snare hits are rimshots by nature - thanks for asking about it though, it's something we can talk about for sure!

how install key?
Copy your unique request key from the Shop tab onto our website, checkout and you'll receive a License Key. Paste that license key back into the shop tab and it'll unlock for you!

Basics are okay but the lack of control on the individual cymbals REALLY hurts this

Sorry about that, it's currently incompatible with MacOS versions prior to 10.15, but we're looking into the possibility of amending this in the future.
