For me, there was a period between 1980 and 1986 when Prince and his associates could do no wrong. Every track composed and produced during that time was a reflection of the divine wrapped in a mouth-watering groove. There was nothing like it. I doubt there ever will be. While Prince wrote the song and started recording it he asked for backup vocals from Wendy and Lisa. Then he gave the song to Andre and he kept Wendy and Lisa's backup vocals.Which was so cool.
