  • A great dance R&B song from the mid 80's. I don't know if this guy is related to Prince, but sure sounds like his music.

Yes he could. He even said as much on a record “Take This Beat”
      Take this beat
      I don’t mind
      I got plenty others
      And they so fine
He also did a special sample project that he wanted to sell for 700 bucks. It was made for Hip Hop producers and that cost was the only thing they ever had to pay. No permissions would be required and no royalties would ever need to be paid.
If was a 7 CD set and it was chocked full of material. It never got released.

+Felecia Grasty Yes. and even Prince is still in the background after he gave the song to Andre.

While Prince wrote the song and started recording it he asked for backup vocals from Wendy and Lisa. Then he gave the song to Andre and he kept Wendy and Lisa's backup vocals.Which was so cool.

Prince, Wendy and Lisa did the original - they kept Wendy and Lisa background vocals

very very talented writer of music that he simply gave away to other artists and they simply came -up because of this. The man just loved music and for me as a fan it's a life time worth being alive today to have witnessed a human being talented as prince make such incredible music decade after decade and still be current with his music audience just show how ahead of his time he was truly will be missed

I remember watching BET for HOURS waiting for this video. I loved Andre just like I loved the Time, Sheila, Dez Dickerson's Group (remember Modernaire?), V6, A6 --- all of them. For me, there was a period between 1980 and 1986 when Prince and his associates could do no wrong. Every track composed and produced during that time was a reflection of the divine wrapped in a mouth-watering groove. There was nothing like it. I doubt there ever will be. Thank you Prince, for sharing your God-given gifts with all of us.
