You do know that the Pet Shop Boys wrote this song for Eighth Wonder, and later recorded a better version of it for themselves.
Their superior version is on their 1988 'Introspective' album. It's worth listening to, to compare it with this version here. You'll find the PSB's own version of this song better. It's deeper and darker too.

I'm Not Scared" is a song by Patsy Kensit's British pop band Eighth Wonder, released in February 1988 as the first single from their debut album, Fearless (1988). It achieved success in France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and the UK, where it was a top-10 hit. Written by the Pet Shop Boys, the original version contains several words in French. "J'ai pas peur" is the French adaptation of "I'm Not Scared" and is included as the B-side to the 7-inch and 12-inch singles. The 12-inch "disco mix" combines the two versions into one long mix. Pet Shop Boys also released their own version of the song, with Neil Tennant vocals, on the album Introspective (1988)

I actually think this is one of the simplest but most stylish, brilliant music videos I've ever seen. I love her hair, her style, the car, the dogs, the setting, the lighting and the song itself is one of my favourite 80s songs. Just wonderful.
Patsy Kensit was this time so sexy. No need to write like Christy Turlington and Kate Moss. But the style of the guys completly in black by Hugo Boss or Lagerfeld
with the amazing white dogs. It's not possible to top. Even Kanye West can forget it.

I have said so many times that I bought my first single with my own money in 1975. Music is my life but the years 1996 -2006 are the best years I have experienced today we are in 2022. I just see more and more bad music and rap music takes over more and more.

Her look is ahead of it's time. Remember, this was videos in late 1987. Her look and style is groundbreaking for the time.

This was a real classic song written by the Pet Shop Boys who had produced this with Phil Harding (the producer with Stock Aitken Waterman). The synthesizers in this are just simply mesmerizing. I recall when it had finally cracked the UK top 40 in early March 1988 that I went out brought the 12 inch the next day

It's half way between the elegance of the 70s and the sexiness of the 90s. You still had some sort of melody, the way people sang was interesting, then you have the sweet electronic beats that would give birth to all sorts of electro genres afterwords. Most eras have their merit, but yes the 80s were special. The fashion however sucked!

Eighth Wonder did this before pet shop boys, apparently. I argued, with my son, that the pet shop boys recorded this first and eighth wonder covered it but I was wrong. He proved it. Glad to know I was half right though, considering they wrote it, I wasn't entirely wrong. well, that's what i'm going with anyway!

I know I'm biased but the boys doing this (especially live) always adds their magic touch by taking their own work from brilliant to complete genius.
