What a fantastic trip down memory lane! The fusion of each genre including, country, 90’s pop, African beats and rap was a match made in HEAVEN! This will remain timeless and is a shining example Of what happens when such a fusion of differences comes together and creates MAGIC ❤

My friend was a Dj on Ibiza a couple of years back and I dared him once to put this on in a very commercial house club . He first refused but then ac couple of drinks in at around 2am he put it on. The crowd exploded, people were going mental. most of the people were not even born when this first came out but they were like in a trance..Thank you KLF for the music, a true classic.
Im pretty sure nobody in Ibiza at 2am gives a damn what you play. Everyone is drunk and drugged and busy having sex with someone who, in the morning will turn out to be a moose. The whole culture is a pile of 💩, music included.
Agreed and to get her to say "they drive an ice-cream van" was hilarious and brilliance having a baby and mixing them both up to make a great outcome 😀
From everything I've heard, there was a hell of lot of legit love and respect involved in them asking her. Reportedly, she didn't quite "get" the final product (who did?), but did recognize the tour-de-force of skill on display and had a good time doing it.
I didn't notice for a long time that when Tammy is shown singing in the video, all the fast scrolling text is listing all her achievements as a singer... and deservedly so!
I remembered this song because of Tammy Wynette. She was the 1st artist from country music to do a song of this magnitude with hip hop artists. I felt she should have been commended for that back then as well now.
Not even a fan of country, but ONLY a band like The KLF could make this work and it still seems flawless! They tied so many things together and were so delightfully weird, STILL not another band I could compare them to at the end of 2022!
It's 2023. I had totally forgotten this song even existed! If you listen to the radio anymore, even stations that play 80s/90s music NEVER play these kinds of songs. It's too bad.
It’s never on the radio as in 1992 they officially “deleted” their music catalogue by making it no longer available to license. It’s fairly recently appeared on streaming services so hopefully one day.
Wonderful arrangement. That twanging steel guitar is such a gorgeous touch. 10 year old me loved it, but 41 year old me also appreciates the subtle details. Pure magic.

I’m 46 and was still am a grunge girl but loved this song remember recording this on VHS at the time we had all types of music back then and music from each genre was amazing!! Now there’s hardly anything different in the charts it’s so manufactured it’s destroyed creativity it’s either rap or dance to pop!
I’m here in 2021. I was in 7th grade when this came out. 30 years later it still resonates and we need a powerful anthem like this more than ever. They’re justified and they’re ancient. That’s all.
Brilliant. Legend One of a kind. How we miss her. This song has stood the test of time, How on earth did they go up to a legend and encourage her to sing Moo Moo Land. But they did and this is the result, A truly memorable, outstanding video, that will remain in our hearts forever. Karen Levey
To be able to convince the legendary Tammy Wynette to sing in this transcendental version of Justified and Ancient is just mind blowing. My teenage self would wait by the radio all day long on the off chance this would be played.
Much props to this band giving this country music star much respect..My parents loved Country music...They were WOWED by this very last time Ms Tammy Wynette was put in pop music spotlight!!
Kudos to Tammy who didn't just stick with country style. This still sounds great all these years later, so do the other KLF tracks. I'm in my 40s and recently found out my uncle who is 64 is a KLF fan, that was kind of cool.
A,tribute to the utter brilliance of this track is that an old soul boy like me hears it by accident and then has to spend half a day researching it I was so hooked .... It is such a jamboree of juxtaposed sounds and lyrical idioms . .Only British eccentrics could pull this off .... Addicted .
There's a mobile Indian takeaway out of a converted ice cream van here in Sheffield. On the side is written 'They're justified and they're Asian and they drive an ice cream van'

I am SO Pleased that not one person has disliked the KLF & Miss Tammy as, it is one of the best music videos in the history of music videos. So good to see Tammy Wynette singing & enjoying herself. RIP Miss Tammy.
I'm 44. I'm from Central Europe. It was the defining band of my childhood and teenage years. My dear God, there were incredible beatings at school parties. And now, after all these years, incredible feelings still arise. Tears of happiness... Thank you.
Yes! We were mad about this song too! It was always played in the London bar mitzvah circuit in the early 90s and all the parties!
The KLF gave Tammy her final hit. Bless them. This song gave her international attention, and enabled her to tour across the world.
She toured around the world before this
Did she retire after making this record?
@@dc7827 No, but it was her last "hit".
@@eightiesaddictone9063 so she retired, right?
@@dc7827 No………………..she died………….
This needs a re release, no messing around with the track or anything, just a straight release. Kids of today won't know what hit them...Could be a summer hit.
Bring the beat back?
I agree. They need to rerelease it and switch up the volume. I love this song. The kids these days don't know what they're missing.
I have the cassette single to this big hit back in the day. You're right. Break it out again now.
@@PaulC39 Me too! The b side was funny.
@@s.c.9681 I like dance music and I had friends that were Into different music. My past friend Mike was into KLH so he turned me onto Justified and Ancient. Good beats and vocals. It was different than the normal pop music.
The world in 2021 needs the KLF.
Please come back Bill
no bro...justina biebera is ruling the charts now
Damn right. They stopped way to early
And the money they burned!!
the simps, libtards and blm spastics would not be able to handle klf
This song NEVER gets old!!
My mother heard this when I bought the single.... She had her personal opinions of my music. When she heard Tammy...she just nodded and jammed out. She knew her daughter was on the right track. Thank you mom....love you RIP
She has a fantastic voice. Effortless perfection. The Southern drawl makes it sound great.
I am still happy that Tammy actually did stand by the Jam!!!!
"Bring the beat back!!!!"
This still makes me smile like the first time I saw it on MTV.....
An extraordinary piece of music! Loved it then and love it even more in ‘24.
Probably the most unusual-but successful-duets ever. The KLF really shocked everyone when we all heard Tammy's voice come out. But it worked!
Whoever came up with a song which consisted of some country some rap some hip hop and some African music is a real genius. This song is absolutely fantastic it certainly deserved the worldwide hit it became. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ Love from the UK ♥️🙏👍
....from Liverpool England - home of innovative sounds
and don't forget some of that sweet Voodoo Chile riff
The 90's in a nutshell, some truly amazing music!
Proper geniuses 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
One of those minds Is Jimmy Cauty....Look at his other works....He is a genius...
Heard this when it debuted and it never gets old even decades later. I consider this one of Tammy’s greatest hits.
When I was a child I went absolutely CRAZY to this song, it made soooo happy!! I still get chills!!❤
In case you can't read the scrolling messages:
Miss Tammy Wynette. 25 years in the business. 11 consecutive No. 1 albums. 20 No. 1 singles. 5 times voted C.M.A. (Country Music Association) Female Vocalist of the Year. WOW!And iwas wandering who is that woman with this lovely voice!
Memories!!! Always loved this song. Getting Tammy Wynette to do this was a stroke of genius!!!
This really is incredible haha. House, hip-hop, industrial, synth, country, electronica, disco, all in one song
Only the KLF could achieve it and make it not suck for one bit
yes
music in liverpopl and manchester is top
You missed out rap.
"Fishing in the rivers of life" is a reference to Walden by Henry David Thoreau. So, mid 1800s literature is in that mashup list too ;)
BTW: The name KLF, Mu, and a ton of the imagery is a reference the Illuminatus Triology.
90's rocked, walking into clubs with this banger playing, great times
I honestly can't believe there's finally an official HD version of this video!
It's not hd
@@TheWendyExperience Oh it's happy days alright.
@@TheWendyExperience Yes it is. 1080p. Change your settings.
@@davidjgomm Its upconverted to 1080p from an obviously lower resolution (probably 576i or 480i) source, so not "true" HD. That being said, this still is the best quality you'll see on youtube and is a revelation compared to the previous unauthorized uploads.
@@Zooropa420 Strange how people claim 'this is HD' when it's obviously NOT. Pity KLF were not filmed on 35mm.
One of my favorite records of the early '90s. Big props to KLF for getting Tammy Wynette.
In an interview Tammy stated just before her death, she made more money from this collaboration than in her entire career. She said they gave her their "manual" how to be a popstar....and it worked ‼️ the KLF... legendary 👍
I STILL can’t believe they got Tammy Wynette for this song. What a delightful addition! I loved every single second of it.
I’m the end Tammy received ZERO MONEY from this collaboration her final husband got her to do. He did being the opportunist he was - when she passed he was the one to take her money, house, alienate her kids from their inheritance she wrote down in her wishes way before she passed.
@@lorimusiclover7292 I forgot about that. Very sad.
@@lorimusiclover7292 What!? That’ve very disturbing. Why doesn’t everyone know this..? Was this information “sealed” by the courts or just forgotten over time?
Anyone who can get country AND western legend Tammy Wynette to sing - They're jsutified and they're ancient and they drive an ice cream van - deserves respect.
One of my favourite lines ever! And Tammy makes driving wheel hand movements!
and the hustle to record it haha
It was meant to be Dolly Parton. True story.
@@davidbastin9870 I always thought they asked her because of her song 'Stand by your man'.
I'll make mine a 99!
What a fantastic trip down memory lane! The fusion of each genre including, country, 90’s pop, African beats and rap was a match made in HEAVEN! This will remain timeless and is a shining example
Of what happens when such a fusion of differences comes together and creates MAGIC ❤
Tammy was a country queen imagine my surprise to see her lying it down with KLF. What a way to use that beautiful voice. They all killed it !
Over here in my city, it is pandemic lockdown 2.0. For the past week, I've been losing track of days. I was depressed all day yesterday...even thinkin of the best way to end it all.
Im not suprised....
I wish we could buy the new compilation that’s appeared on streaming services en mass and send them back to No. 1
Im pretty sure nobody in Ibiza at 2am gives a damn what you play. Everyone is drunk and drugged and busy having sex with someone who, in the morning will turn out to be a moose. The whole culture is a pile of 💩, music included.
@@onesong2001 yeah one year we had an amazing Black lace night!! Followed by a Michael Jackson night. I couldn’t go due to the age restriction
Then next, the DJ played Rick Astley...
I love the quick scrolling of Queen Wynette's accolades including her multiple marriages , absolute music royalty with a legendary vocal performance .
This is one of the greatest songs ever, and this is not up for debate.

Wow ! ❤
for real?
Absolute stroke of GENIUS to get Tammy. This was risky but came together so well. So unique. Outstanding.
Agreed and to get her to say "they drive an ice-cream van" was hilarious and brilliance having a baby and mixing them both up to make a great outcome 😀
Having Miss Tammy Wynette is wonderful in so many ways. "Stand by your man" is one of my karaoke songs. Love her.
From everything I've heard, there was a hell of lot of legit love and respect involved in them asking her. Reportedly, she didn't quite "get" the final product (who did?), but did recognize the tour-de-force of skill on display and had a good time doing it.
@@travcollier Apparently she couldn't sing it the way the KLF wanted her to and they had to rework the song around her vocals.
But it was a "mistake" as it was mix-up , it was Dolly Parton they where thinking of :-)
I didn't notice for a long time that when Tammy is shown singing in the video, all the fast scrolling text is listing all her achievements as a singer... and deservedly so!
I remembered this song because of Tammy Wynette. She was the 1st artist from country music to do a song of this magnitude with hip hop artists. I felt she should have been commended for that back then as well now.

@@thebagfather4633 yes me too 🥰
Not even a fan of country, but ONLY a band like The KLF could make this work and it still seems flawless!
Ladies and gentleman’s the KLF have re-entered the building...

Nothing but ❤️ for Tammy,,,my favorite country singer,,her amazing voice always brings tears to my eyes.
Even my dearly departed Grandmother (on mother's side) LOVED this song. Think of you always Audrey.
Fishin' in the river of life since 1991, and still going strong, the track still rocks.
Wonderful arrangement. That twanging steel guitar is such a gorgeous touch. 10 year old me loved it, but 41 year old me also appreciates the subtle details. Pure magic.
The absolute pinnacle of whatever genre this is. An absolute banger. JUSTIFIED…
Thank you Jim and Bill. Chaos should not be forgotten.
If there was ever a more bizarre and awesome music collaboration, it was this……genius
Wear headphones. There is a lot going on here.
I am a metal head at heart .. but I surrender to the *call* .. "All Bound for Mu Mu Land" ..
It is inevitable. One of the greatest and most insane songs ever recorded. Hats of to the geniuses that made this.
Cheers from Metal Land 🍺

I know the feeling, man. And I just discovered grunge that year too.
+Peter Grant: It all goes back to the blues.
Ditto, this song is timeless and has a very special place in my collection
I’m 46 and was still am a grunge girl but loved this song remember recording this on VHS at the time we had all types of music back then and music from each genre was amazing!! Now there’s hardly anything different in the charts it’s so manufactured it’s destroyed creativity it’s either rap or dance to pop!
Fantastic track a true classic. It still feels fresh as ever years later. I love KLF.
I’m here in 2021. I was in 7th grade when this came out. 30 years later it still resonates and we need a powerful anthem like this more than ever. They’re justified and they’re ancient. That’s all.
Genius, simply genius! KLF forever 🙏💙🎸
KLF and Tammy Wynette wer3 a good collaboration. This song is timeless. Future generations need to keep this song alive.
Back in the early 90’s, if you walked into Oaktree, Merry Go Round, Sivermans, Coda, Jeans West, Wild Pair you heard Klf
Brilliant. Legend One of a kind. How we miss her. This song has stood the test of time, How on earth did they go up to a legend and encourage her to sing Moo Moo Land. But they did and this is the result, A truly memorable, outstanding video, that will remain in our hearts forever. Karen Levey
Great song, never seems to age, fantastic contribution from Tammy Wynette.
To be able to convince the legendary Tammy Wynette to sing in this transcendental version of Justified and Ancient is just mind blowing. My teenage self would wait by the radio all day long on the off chance this would be played.
The early 90's energy is unstoppable!
We made nothing out of it
I strongly agree with both comments Best decade but at what cost because there’s nothing like that anymore.
Much props to this band giving this country music star much respect..My parents loved Country music...They were WOWED by this very last time Ms Tammy Wynette was put in pop music spotlight!!
Tammy Wynette had an incredibly beautiful and strong voice. Forever missed.
Kudos to Tammy who didn't just stick with country style. This still sounds great all these years later, so do the other KLF tracks. I'm in my 40s and recently found out my uncle who is 64 is a KLF fan, that was kind of cool.
