I have no regret for purchasing the Surface 3 (4gb + 128gb). It's versatile, and a great tablet computer with Office. Also, there is no junk software, and with windows 10 works just fine.... I cannot wait to upgrade my current laptop for the Surface Book (second model) next year...
Why does everyone bitch that Microsoft doesn't include the type cover? Apple, Samsung, and everyone else do not include them, and no one says a Damn thing. Even without a keyboard, the surface does more than any other tablet, even with a keyboard.
+skraggybones Thank goodness they don't lump the keyboard in with the Surface 3. This means I'm able to pay less for the S3. It allows me to choose whether I want to be a keyboard user or a pen user. After 2 months I don't miss the keyboard. I use the on screen handwriting with the surface pen. But of course I am a big OneNote user as well as a EBook annotator. What would be cool is if they would sell a very cheap non keyboard that magnetically clips on as a screen protector when transporting your S3.
I use my keyboard constantly and love it. Everyone has their preference. I love my Surface 3. Once I downloaded all the updated it's very fast. If you shop around you can find a good price for the keyboard ( I got the red one). I love how it lights up and is so easy to type with. No complaints here!

Got lucky they were out of the original pens so I got the Surface Pen V3. Came with extra tips. Love this tablet. Also has the 2 year warranty and W10. Again, thanks for the video.

The virtual split keyboard works for my needs. Missing the cover use/feel however. Overall minor quirks only. Cortana has to be the most intuitive personal assistant ever!
I need a tablet purely for doing digital drawings/sketches. I'm an architecture student. Do you think I should get the Surface 3 128gb model or The base model of SP4 (core M3)? I already have a macbook pro for heavier apps btw. Are there any differences on the pen between those two? Is the Surface 3 even worth buying anymore?

Do you think this is a product of the RAM (which was 2GB on that generation) or the processor? Do you think the 2GB Surface 3 could handle casting better, or should I go for the 4GB version? Mainly I am casting one note or PowerPoint with annotations as I cast.
I would get the larger. I didn't do a lot of streaming with the surface but I did run into random lag here and there while doing different resource intensive tasks

He has a macbook air that he never even touches anymore - he loves his surface 3. as far as how long you can use it, it should be good to use for at least 3 years before you really notice anything (wouldn't be surprised if you got 5).

TBH I would look into the surface PRO 3 because the i3 4gb ram and 128 gb storage is just 540 dollars and is a 30 percent more powerful than the smaller 3. also the purple keyboard is just 40 dollars and it already comes with a pen.
