Now that’s an accurate depiction of how it really feels when you drop the hammer and get it done. Pure excitement and energy every hunter should be able to feel through a screen; simply amazing.
I have hunted deer and elk in the 3rd and 4th seasons of Colorado all my life. If you haven’t dug out of the snow in 3rd season Colorado you really haven’t hunted it right. This film perfectly captured hunting Colorado in the 3rd season. Awesome film and a fantastic deer. Can’t wait for this year.
You Gents have mastered the art of capturing the reality of a late season mule deer hunt. Deepening snow, the fear of leaving your high centered rig until spring thaw, the burn of near frostbite on fingers and toes, the mental and physical fatigue that pushes you to call it quits and then miraculously... the worst hunt of your life becomes the best hunt of your life in a matter of seconds. Bravo Sirs! Bravo!
We try our best to capture the reality of these types of hunts and its these types of comments that make it all worth it! Thanks for watching and we're glad you enjoyed the film!
Outstanding example of the grueling elements and problems that can and do come up. Cold weather and its requirements. Excellent payoff. Excellent video. Reminded me of a buck I have on the wall that is not the biggest I've gotten, but the grueling effort it took to get the thing out of the canyon it died in will never be forgotten and every time I look at it I remember the cost.
Hunted 32 years in Colorado in this and it is pretty cool to see guys like goHunt come suffer in the trenches like we all have. Great video, hard cold work pays off. Congrats
After hearing the story about this hunt on the Big Hunt Guys podcast and the Rookie Year episode of the Backcountry Rookies podcast I had to rewatch this film 🎥 3 years later. What an absolutely incredible story of struggle followed by a sweet moment of success. I actually have 4 points for deer 🦌 and elk in Colorado now, but I believe that I will be doing the Wyoming rifle mule deer 🦌 and pronghorn hunt this fall followed by something in Colorado or Idaho next year. Congratulations on your biggest buck again Brady with that 204 in brute.
Randy is a gem! So you saying that is a huge compliment. Glad you enjoyed it! It's always great to have some fun while still trying to be serious and hunt hard.
When it’s down to the day before your last day,it’s time to consider doing a push aka drive. My hunting buddy and I know EXACTLY how that feels when you finally connect!!! It can be extremely emotional especially after you’ve been freezing for days & walking miles! That’s a HOG!!!
Uhg that super cold weather rifle scramble jackets are puffy gloves don't move clips don't unclip things break Velcro is extra loud. Miserable but grand adventure!!! Very cool
2018 was definitely a brutally cold 3rd season in Colorado but perseverance definitely paid off for you guys! Thanks for producing an amazing product and such great films.
OMG Brady, what a KILLER buck man!!! LOVE the adrenaline rush after the shot and confirmed kill. Seeing you and Chris hug and emotions flying wild. That's what it's all about right there baby! Got me stoked. Hoping my buddy and I draw 3rd season CO this fall. Like you said.....you just never know. That big buck could be the next one you see. Congrats on an amazing CO Mule deer buck!
At first I was thinking man stop complaining so much. I have to listen to myself complain enough when I’m hunting haha but that is the truth of how it is. Much respect for pushing through the cold. I have shot most of my trophies in bad weather. Great video!
Thank you! It was something else to walk up to that buck and see Brady's reaction and knowing how much it means to him with all the time he puts into finding mule deer.
Awesome hunt, boys! Man those sits are so tough when it's that cold. The worst is when your toes finally start to thaw out and you just know the next five or ten minutes are really gonna suck! Way to stick with it. you guys ended up with such a bruiser of a muley. Like you said, you won't ever forget that hunt and you'll be talking about it for years
Great video and hunt. Getting stuck in a snowstorm way up there is a real danger. That’s always sketchy. Can’t imagine doing this without a hot tent. Nice buck 👏
Great hunt and film. Loved it! I had a CO 3rd Season Mulie tag too and I can vouch it was cold and below zero! Well done. Keep the great hunt films coming!

I've been waiting for this video for awhile! Nice job in tough conditions! I would like to hunt with Brady sometime but I'm not sure I'd be tough enough!
Those hunts always stay with you. The easy ones never do. You guys will be laughing about beating that Chevy to death in the snow for years... Great buck man! The struggle is real!!!
@@GOHUNT I don't doubt that a bit. I could hear it revving like a formula 1 car out there!!! We got stuck in Colorado like 25 years ago with chains on all four tires in 4WD. That mud is unreal. Had to chop down junipers and throw them in the ruts. Then rev it up and go as far as we could, go back and get the junipers and repeat. Like it was yesterday.....
I shot me a dandy buck in Colorado in the 3rd season last year also. Boy you ain't kidding, it was frickin cold. We were hiking in in -14 degrees a couple mornings. Soooo worth it.
yes the hardship of 3rd season I know it well. It's also the time to kill mega bucks if you can hack the cold and snow. One thing I will point out that most people don't realize about big mature mule deer is, that are sight sensitive. What that means is if they see you they will disappear, no matter the range. Big bucks dont even like you with in 1/2 mile of sight. So remember this when your skyline up on the ridge looking for them. Keep back drops in shade or better yet view from behind cover. Never ever skyline your profile because if the canyon had a big buck and he saw you, he will not let you see him. Big mature 30" bucks are sight sensitive. It is the number one mistake I see hunters make over and over again. Watch your scent, lower your voice, and stay out of sight you will see big bruisers. Great hunt it almost lets you see the real hardships of late 3rd season in Colorado's high country !!!!
Awesome hunt fellas, I like hunting in the snow especially muzzleloader season. But I only get to hunt around the house not trek through some western landscape. I would love to go with my bro on an early October OTC rifle mule deer hunt, but I doubt I can even afford that right now. Would be an awesome dream adventure and something to share with my brother. I currently have an old model 10 Savage in .270 Win with a wood stock and I know it can get the job done especially on deer, but I am looking for a .284 or .30 caliber with a composite stock and a all weather set up. Since you guys are Browning fans, I have been really eyeing their A-Bolt 3 Western Hunter in either .308, .30-06, or .300 Win Mag (wish there was a Win Short Mag to be different since my Dad and other bro have the standard .300 Win Mag) for around that $550 price point since I can't afford the Hell's Canyon Speed or Long Range in that $1,000-$1,300 range. Congrats Brady on another stud muley, kind of hard to believe after seeing pics of your other bucks that this one is the biggest you have taken (love the sticker on the right side) and I am sure it was in a unit that was less than 3 points too. I bought my first elk and mule deer pref point in CO this year, hopefully next year or year after that I will be able to go.
Can't wait to hear how you enjoy your Colorado hunt. Nothing like the thrill of a hard-earned mountain experience. Best of luck this year, bud! - Brady
@@GOHUNT well thanks Brady, my brother and Dad already bought their hunting licenses and deer tags for an OTC rifle hunt for mule deer (potentially a black bear since one can use their deer tag for those). I am hopeful to go, since I have been saving all my vacation to go. I will definitely let you know how it goes regardless. Next year is either Colorado for mule deer or elk or with my uncle and two cousins to Wyoming for pronghorn and maybe open country mule deer if we can get tags in close enough units. Looking forward to what you and the GoHunt crew get into this fall.
Most folks from the south who try and come hunt out west clearly lack basic marksmanship. They think they need some ultra mag rifle when a 308 or 270 will do fine. Also they are just crappy shots as well
@@anthonymartinez4780 I can promise you folks from the South don't have a monopoly on that. Ever hunted around jokers from Pennsylvania or Wisconsin? Or, hell even Nebraska for that matter. We hunt northwest Nebraska every year for the past 20 and it NEVER ceases to amaze me. And, like you said, they think the bigger the gun, the better the shot. LOL
@@tommyhunter1817 lol I'll give you that. I just have a particular dislike for Texans in general. Had a group of them shooting elk on the edge of private property and since they would get bad hits the elk lived long enough to get onto private property. Since the landowner was out of state at the time they continued to poach. Thankfully we found out and I called my buddy with cpw and we got those fuckers into a big bind. I dislike people who has zero respect for wildlife and the resources that we as sportsman have a responsibility to protect for future generations

It is cool to go back and watch these again had no idea neville has now only a hand full of mulue hunts now
Anyone else re-watching this after hearing the podcast with Cam Hanes? Love the struggle fest and even better when it comes together.
