Christmas Lights Synchronized to Transiberian Orchestra Nutcracker Suite The Mad Russian. Turned this show from 7 years ago into my full time gig: www extremelightscapes.com
can you imagine being the neighbour next door and not having any lights up. Well done I absolutely love trans-Siberian orchestra.
Funny thing is that this video is 2 years old - both neighbors are now synchrnized into the light show this year - three hosues in a row of this Christmas light chaos - we love it!
They played this last night at their concert! It was the best concert I ever saw!
Music is broadcast via an FM transmitter. We now have a giant backlit sign telling passers by to tune the car radio to 107.3 FM. Neighbors love it. This video is from my 2006 display when it was just me - now we will have 4 housrs in a row synced up and one done wirelessly across the street!
I LOVE this version of the Nutcracker!!!!! It's typically so pretty and light and this just totally changed the whole thing!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!!
This was back in 2006. Lots has changed since then. The house is now synched with 3 others (neighbors including one across the street) and it's all LED, almost 2000 channels of animation. It turned into a full time job for me - Extreme Lightscapes (see link in description) - commercial Christmas decorating and synchronized Christmas light shows. So technically I guess you could say that Extreme Lightscapes does the lights now :)
They are strobe lights. We use special C9 Stobes that flash at random intervals to create that effect. You should see them this year - spread across 3 properties and placed up in 3 different trees. Also added DJ lighting this year.
I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN OBSESSED BY THIS ❤❤❤❤❤🎄🎅🏼
What a great show. Merry Christmas to all!
I know right? I get in the spirit as soon as it hits september until around early-mid jan. And im going to see TSO jan 3rd. cant wait!!!
Hi Santa,
I see ya waving. It aint every year one gets to see you like this. Great place 2 B. Done at the right time with no passerbys(except the vehicles).
This happens all the time in Miller Valley(Milwaukee) at the first brewery of beer. Awsome and it is to this song to
WOOO-HOOOO! Planning and planning and looking forward to opening night this year. We've got 3 houses in a row synced up this year - and a sponsor even. Fun times that will help us collect food and clothing for those who need it more than we do - payin' it forward.
You'll be happy to know that we've included Baby Jesus in the display this year. He gets a lot of time in the spotlight.
i love the nutcracker one of my fave classic songs for a french horn player
After years of hearing this song once, I finally found it again! xD
GREAT light display! I love it!! BRAVO! I do hope that I can do that someday to my home. I just love it! Merry Christmas!
I think that's supposed to be a video of santa putting presents under the tree. he bends down and gets up again. Love the car. Little did they know they'd be on youtube!
"the CREEPY ass thing in the window" that, my friend ... That is Santa Claus!
:)
Key items: Lights, special effects, light controllers (we have 5), projectors, FM Transmitter, Controller interface, software, extension cords (miles and miles of them), signage and most importantly time - for sequencing each song and creating each video. I spend about 100-120 hours each year on it. So about $18000 of time + maybe $6000 in actual wiring, lights, software and hardware.
Heck so have I - I built this thing 4 years ago. Our display this year has 4 houses syncedup and I've done some commercial installs that are mind blowing. Things have come a long way with animated lighting.
If that was me in the van I would've backed up! These are so amazing!
The music is broadcast via an FM transmitter that has about a 2 mile range. 107.4fm. I also keep a small boom box outside to play the music outside on the weekends. People can drive by and tune their car radios to 107.3fm to hear the music.
this is defintely the best christmas video
How cool to have Santa moving around.
Nice!
Love the Giant Santa video in the upper right window!
This video is now 4 years old. We now have the lights synchronized with 4 of the neighbors including one across the street!
My favorite questions/comments are about the electric bill. It gives me a chance to educate :) Since we control the power intensity sent to every bulb, the display only runs 4 hours per night and the lights are rarely if ever all on at the same time - we burn much less electricity that folks who put up 6 strands of C9's and leave them on all night.
LOL - this year all of those neighbors are part of the show. We have 4 houses synchronized including one across the street via wireless.
You do have a point. The audio was added to the video since I didn't have a way to record the audio out of the fm signal - so it's a little off in the video. And this video is 2 years old - this year's will be mind blowing!
Love the santa in the window Im putting one in my display next year. :)
it's not a TV, it's him making sure everything goes how it should on the computers and he's using a flashlight so the room light doesn't disrupt the show.
SANTA'S IN THE TOP WINDOW OMG!! lol
nice music to it too. i was laughing my butt off with the car.
awesome! so many years have gone and I still found this rather entertaining!
this is sooo cool. i have to refer this to my ballet-obsessed friend! My bro played this in the car and i instantly fell in LOVE WITH IT> STUPID CAR
Only on weekends. We have a jam box outside that we turn on and tune o 107.3fm to play the music. The rest of the time people can pull up in their cars and turn their car stereo to 107.3fm to hear the music. Broadcast through our fm transmitter.
1441 Providence Blvd. Aubrey, TX - just north of Dallas and to the east of Denton. The 2007 light show starts this friday night!
omg this is awesomeeee :] i love how as soon when the car leaves the light go all fast and crazyy lol.
we used to do this for christmas to, but we ran out of time. When that Van pulled away I was like "DUDE REVERSE YOUR ABOUT TO MISS THE BEST PART!!!!" lol
"WTF is in that window in the upper corner?" That's what I keep asking myself each time I look at that window. This is awesome though!!!
k i think this guy should get the award for most kickass christmas house ever and if someone can top any of what this dude from ohio does i would love to see it
1:56 in the window reminds of that part in Forrest Gump: "Yeah, sir, you might want to send a maintenance man over to that office across the way. The lights are off, and they must be looking for a fuse box, 'cause them flashlights, they keeping me awake. "
Yeah - you have to keep in mind the context; this was created back when nobody much knew what a synchronized light show was. Using only 1 controller. Things have come a very very very long way. Today the display has almost 3,000 channels of animation and a couple of houses synched together. And we are designing and building commercial displays with 15,000-50,000 channels.
Acttually - it's REALLY hard to tell what that is in these videos, but it's a virtual santa being rear projected into the window... it's the hit of the show when you see it live!
ive seen santa before, he was jammed in our chimney, so i pried him out and we had a few beers...hes a good guy, and boy can he throw em back!
I think someone needs to produce a Dvd of ALL the best Christmas lights displays to music and sell it to the public, and let all the proceeds go to the Homeless and soup kitchens nation wide. If I had the equipment to do it, I would.
LOVE the random cars that drive by :)
You've outdone the mighty Clark Griswold!!
A man came into my parents shop in 2006 or 2007 and showed me and my mom this video lol. Been trying to find it for a while. Good memories
I remebre dancing to this when I was a lilttle kid! haha good times good times
wow, it took me a while to figure out it was santa in the window :P, this is incredible!
If that was supposed to be Santa in the window, it was a very unique idea. It really looked like Santa.
I can never say enough Great things about my friends THE BLUE MAN GROUP they never stop
inventing and creating illusions that is so fantastic way above and beyond any mind travels I could ever put myself through, and I
have been proforming for 20 years and I get such blocks that I see GENIUSES MINDS FOLLOWING When they give a show
that car must have been so scared. I like how it went crazy as soon as he drove off. lol
I love how the car gets in the way haha xD
lol someone in my neighborhood does this too and the santa in the window is priceless
LUV IT!!! The Santa in the Window is a hell of an idea. But next time, ask the neighbors across the street if you can record it from the roof of their house, so the stupid cars don't get in the way. LOL.
This has to be the "BEST" idea ever......
Car at 0:54 : Hey cool its a light show!. Lets watch for a couple of minutes, 10 minutes later. *Leaves*
House:MUWHAHAHA HES GONE TIME TO UNLEASH MY REAL POWERRRRR *flashy lights*
Great job. Upon first look, I thought this show was in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn, NY. Great Texas style here. Merry Christmas to all.
I was thinking the same thing! You know you guys aren't the only ones watching this!!!
Usually the audio is broadcast over a small FM transmitter so you can tune it in on your car radio while riding by. Otherwise the neighbors most likely would get tired of it pretty quick.
that is by far the most bad ass thing on youtube
LOL that car left right when it got to the best part. XD
We do wizards as well - so does just abut everyone who does synchronized light shows. So if you're comparing to Carson's video from a few years ago - keep viewing!
Instead of Christmas being one day, we could make it a festival over a couple of months.
Thank you. I really enjoyed the show.
not at all. the neighbors on both sides of me have joined the fun this year and we're decorating them all and syncing them with video as well. The folks across the street love it. We have cool neighbors that are just as crazy as we are.
wonderful, stunning.
The minivan is so hilarious for some reason.
that is the coolest thing ive ever seen
lol at the van stopping, he just missed the good part. This setup is amazing!
hah! I did this with my house for two year snow! ppl come by and they love it! I sent it to the local news haha!
its the movie, there is a TSO movie to all their christmas music about a runaway girl and this dream she has...and this is the ending scene and they are showing it on the tv in the window.
Absolutely - that was at Disney - an amazing and inspirational event of grand proportions! I'd do something of that scale too if I owned a theme park!
they are really talented with lights. I cant help but imagine what it would be like to be living next to that house. BLINK BLINK BLINK FLASH BLINK.... yyeahhh..
AWSOME! Love the rock tone to it!
Very nice job! Especially for 16 channels!!! I am running 16 also but I have about a 1/3 of the space. Must be nice to have such a large area to work!
Keep it up!!!
Whitey
@TinkerBritty it is a haligram of santa thats why it is blueish and white and it was dancing to the music and it would disappear and come back
no real increase - maybe $20. That costs MUCH more than our show. We control all the power sent to the controllers. Every strand of lights can be set to a particular intensity. So we control how much energy is used - versus a big fat couple strands of C9's on the roof that are just plugged in and fired up at 100% all night long.
If you start Dark Side of the Moon at exactly 0:04, it synchronizes perfectly. Scary!
Nice touch with Santa in the window!
well it's official...Christmas is now badass
LOL Funny thing is that this year BOTH of my neighbors are synched up to my show as well - one big show with 3 houses in a row, S-WEEET!
I was about to say 'What's that going on in the window?' Then I looked, and I saw it. Santa-bot.
XDDDD For some reason, I find this really funny. Just imagine living next to that.
"Oh, there goes the neighbor's lights again."
XD
those people that parked in front of the house are like "What the fuck is going on?" LMAO!
Dear Sky, no they don't have speakers. These people who do this sort of stuff broadcast the music through a radio frequency, AM or FM, not sure which. Anyway, they usually have a sign out front mentioning the frequency so you can tune it in on your own car, house or portable radio and watch the house as the music plays. It's all programed through a computer. Crazy stuff!
If you've ever been to a modern Drive-In movie theater where you tune your radio to hear the move, it's much the same thing.
My neighbor has a bipolar disorder and she hates multicolored flashing lights, and she is always a problem to us. After watching this video, I know what next years lights are going to look like. :)
Thanks - I just use your standard plastic c9 light clips. The kinda slide under the edge of the shingles or can be clipped to the outside of the gutters. I also use double-sided tape and sticky-backed mini clips around the windows, balcony etc.
the neighbours were probably thinking 'what the hell is going on over there!?!?!'
the santa scared me i didnt know what the heck was moving around in the window but when i looked closed i saw a beard and santa hat xD
that inovative having the raidio thing. also its cool that the neighbors are cool with it,you now have 4 houses you should put the video up off all them together later this year that would be really awsome.
Wow! Nice Display, we had done the same thing last year. Just a tip, use LED lights because they are energy efficient, they're brighter than standard lights, they last for like 10 years, and if one light on a strand goes out the whole thing won't go out.
Next door neighbor: hey Joe want to see my light display bet it's better than yours
Guy in video: sure one sec
Lights go on
Ooos and ahhs
Guy in video: CRAP lost power again
*Gets a seizure* That was awesome!
i bet its hard to sleep if theres any rooms behind those windows on the second floor lol... had a guy at the end of my street who used to do this with all sorts of songs and used the radio station to play the songs on too. he stopped doing it tho, was very awesome to see Carol of the Bells or anything by TSO on the sync
@kkazer16 it's an actual box you can buy and program using computer software that, I believe, comes with the box. You hook all your lights into the box and however your program it. that's what it'll do.
i just jammed to this song
The person in the van just gets all freaked out and drives away slowly
