Wonderful video! Magnificent vintage motorcycles! You're a great gentlemen not to jump on and ride either the RD250 or the 1949 Enfield after they parked both them right there in front of you and left the motors running. Thank for the video!
When living in New York state. I was able to buy a magazine about classic motorcycles IN ENGLAND. Stories about " barn finds" or junk yards and the rebuilding of " bikes". Mostly " Brit" but some times other countries. Well, anyway, toward the back of the magazine were full page ads of classic motorcycles for sale. I would sit and have an issue of which bike would I prefer. Lol...never really settled on a bike.
The Magnificent Men on their Flying Machines. When l was a sixteen year old, my late uncle Chas took me to Newmarket. Chas was a war hero, a Marine Sargeant, real tough guy. I'd been to Newbury for an interview to be a Jockey 🏇 I was only 5ft 6ins but at the interview and they said l was going to grow to 5ft 11ins, so it was pointless. Three years later l was 5ft 10ins 😆 I don't miss falling off horses, bloody sore 😫 Anyway, I've been around your neck of the woods Taym , and it's beautiful.
Brilliant little video, some fantastic machines on show, had in days gone by ,350cc Yamaha RD 1970 model one of the first to come out, it was white with orange, beautiful machine.
I passed my test on a KH250 with Micron Expansion chambers, I then swapped it for an RD250 just like that one, put Microns on that too.. Plenty of blue smoke in the good old days! ☁☁☁
Great vlog and video Reminds me of my old BSA C11G 250 when I was a kid in south Wales Also had a couple of Bantams and a Francis Barnett and loved the 2 stroke bikes Regards from Florida

hi Taym i have emailed him today just to see i did mention your name so you can tell him you know who i am ! its only an enquiry for now as i may have a change you know what its like ... the vello thats nice and the RD 250 HAHAHA @@TAYM
Thanks TAYM. Love the video (as usual) again I am super jealous of the classic bikes and meets you lot seem to have. Nothing like that that I’ve seen over here sadly. Most of the “meets” here are usually Harley related and centered around drinking and riding in one way or another 🤦
Outstanding! That Yamaha RD250 livened up the proceedings like a rowdy teenager 😁😁. The Velocette is such a beauty! it was wonderful to see that old R.E. 350 too. I think that the Shotgun is perhaps a more practical bike than the Super Meteor as it is less of a cruiser configuration. It looks like the sort of bike that Harley Davidson should have made, at a similar price point.
Motorcycle Heaven! 🤩😍🥰 The Yamaha RD 250 would be just what an old Yamaha fan boy like me needs to let the neighbors know that I’m riding. 😁 At first glance I like the Shotgun more than the Super Meteor but I’d still wait for a Bullet or Classic. Timing is never on my side.
Morning Taym, the fuel tank & new fuel lines are back on Tims BMW now but poor weather conditions have prevented us test riding it so far. I've yet to fuel it up & check for leaks as its been a busy week in the workshop. Mostly been carrying out pdi's on the new arrivals so you have plenty to test ride ! I believe Tim plans on picking up the Matchless this Saturday, so you might bump into him ?
When I was a Junior in high school I was getting a new bike. I had been riding a BSA B30. Had a Hodaka gas tank, wouldn’t start with a kick(bump start everywhere, which was problematic in mud), 4 speed with no first gear and once the rear suspension compressed that was it! A hard tail! All my pals had 50s and 125s so at times I could roar by them. Saved up a summer’s money, $1000 or less and my 2 choices were the Vellocette Thruxton or an Ossa Pioneer (1971). Thank goodness I was smart enough to go for the Ossa but I see those Vellocttes and still have regrets. Thought of one more question regarding the 24 Tiger. Has anyone found the linked braking reduces fork dive?
Thanks BL 😁 yes, we always wonder about the choices we make 😁 but really, we generally make the right choice at the time 😁 now you mention it, I don’t recall any fork dive🤔 interesting 😁
Hiya Taym I’m interested in the model G listening to the engine on Tickover from the left side it appears to suddenly spike in noise ?? Could be just the camera mic ? He needs to set the A/ R lever lower pull it towards him more as that’s slack advance and tight retard . to see how good the mag is but I might call down and try it and check the details myself 😊😊 The garage needs to show proof of valuation for the plate… it’s a lot on top but I’m sure they have it ! I’m also interested also in the Velo Venom but will need to check that out too….. it’s a beauty We’ll see 😊😊 Phil
@@TAYM cheers Taym I may go down and have a ride soon and have a look around would be good anyway I mean, if he sells it in the mean time then he does and the Velocette, but I’d love to see it and ride it or both . I won’t leave it too long it’s about 120 miles from here but it would be worth it on a dry day hopefully in March 😊😊 I’ll do a video eh you may be there haha 😊😊
I find it fine 😁 the seat is not the best which is why I changed mine but I could have lived with it I suppose 😁 otherwise I could and do ride all day on it 😁 thanks Peter 😁
That Velocette Venom looked beautiful, certainly my favourite. What sort of money is it going for? Looks like a lot of money to me. Still fast enough for A and B roads. I think I'd pass on the RD250 as never liked 2strokes, overpriced in my opinion. I'm sure the market will drop in value for these bikes over the next few years (however I'm probably in the minority regarding 2 strokes).
Super Meteor has forward controls & Shotgun has mid controls & the rear seat actually opens up & has a compartment inside.Shotgun be better suited for the bad back brigade with it's mud controls.
