Thanks for sharing how you do..👍😀 I tried one day to put my paper in a box with strong tea. I then took one paper up at a time and lay them on my table in my garden in a sunny day. I then lay my table cloth, plastic dollie , over the wet paper and in no time, few minutes the paper where dried and had a beautiful image on them. It was a bit strange watching you in your back yard dyeing paper in what must have been summer. Here I am in northern Ontario in minus 26 degree ice and snow thinking about dyeing paper. 😂
I know this was 3 yrs ago, but it popped up on youtube. It was very helpful. I cant find the plastic doilies, either, and bought a cheapo tablecloth on temu. I got some doilies in a vintage batch from ebay made from polyester not cotton and cut those apart, and it kinda worked. I didnt spray them, though. So ill try your method when i get my temu order. Perfect - and similar to what I do only I put mine on Dollar Tree cookie sheets and other pans that have designs on the bottom. I have heard you mention tub dying and I really thought you just put a bunch of paper in a tub of coffee and let the coffee evaporate! LOL! I don't know if that was my overactive imagination or what! LOL! My dearly beloved reminded me of that imagination of mine this morning when I told him that I had dreamed that he had taken my nice glass top stove and replaced it with an old 1940's stove with awful burners that needed a lot of cleanin! LOL!
Kathleen Roush You actually can put a lot of papers in a bath of coffee, that’s what I do with the tub method. Put enough coffee in and put the papers in one by one to really soak them and then leave them until u like the color. Remove the access water and let them dry by heating or in the sun in the tub.
Gosh I had all my mom's old plastic doilies she use to use with her baking from the 70's and I think I threw them all away many years ago because they were in pieces.............AHHHH! I had no idea I would want them for this in the future!!!!! Can these be done with fabric or paper doilies??? Thanks Gayle. :)
You could try. I’ve had trouble with the paper sticking together without the plastic doilies in between. But I do think it would be worth a try to do three or four layers and see what happens. ❤️

I -enjoyed seeing Jimmie Joe? What breed is he? I am new to tea or coffee dying papers. I did some this past evening. I probably did it a very strange way -put the paper in a cookie sheet with sides and made tea and coffee in large glass measuring pitchers and poured it in the cookie sheet so it covered the paper. I dried them on parchment paper in the oven. They'll do the trick for a getting started project. My sister and I are going camping Sunday in her RV. When we camp we craft late in the evening until early morning. In the day, we are known to roam to different towns and if there are craft stores or thrift stores we do some shopping. She usually comes up with the ideas, but this time I am the main one. It will most likely be like the blind leading the blind. I've watched many, many junk journal videos, but haven't made one thing yet. I have printed off many digital ephemeras.

Mine are cut to fit the tub. I got them at a garage sale. 😁❤️

Just until they are dry. I peel them up layers by layer as they dry. Where I live, it can take up to three days for the whole tub to dry. ❤️
