Thank you for sharing this. It was very helpful. Yes I would like to a vid on dying other items and using those pans to make markings. Hope you are feeling better. God bless.
Really interesting and helpful Diane! I've never coffee dyed paper in my life but you make me feel like I can do it because this process is so easy to follow. Thanks for doing this and yes I would like to see more!
Hi, Dianne, I was so happy to stumble upon this great video. I had not seen a method that one could use to dye papers when it is wintertime without spending a lot of time. I tried your method and had good success. So much faster. I did have to make sure to watch them closely at that temp. Got some interesting prints. Thanks so much! Penny
Funny thing, I was watching your original video on this yesterday, along with several others. 🤣 Glad you did it again. Great reminder! And you have my vote to do more videos for markings! Ty friend. Hugs - Chelley 🤎
Wonderful Tutorial Diane! I use cold coffee and lay in sheet by sheet But...I have never used a brush before~I certainly Will next batch I make! I like to completely cover front & back of each & every piece~your method takes care of this! I have an aversion to white paper~lol! I personally don't like white areas everywhere that aren't dyed! Your method covers best and is quick and easy! Thanks so much for sharing! 🥰❤👭
Thank you! Sometimes, if I'm in my craft room and need something coffee dyed, I will just brush it on and dry it with a heat gun. I am not a fan of white pages either.
One sheet at a time? Who has that kind of time? Yeowza. I do mine in handfuls/small stacks. The colored liquid (coffee, avocado dye, etc) finds its way through by way of pouring, tilting the pan and flipping the stacks once or twice.
Curious about leaving it in the pan for a week! I have a habit of not emptying the pan full of coffee after I’ve dyed a few sheets (I take mine out right away) and I’ve found that leaving a pan full of coffee for a few days starts to mold 😬 I know 100% my method of dyeing paper is not efficient at all lol (probably why I only do a few at a time 😅) but I get nervous I might ruin an entire stack of papers if I walk away and forgot about it because it will look like some sort of juvenile science experiment 😂
Haha, I totally get that lol. I haven't ever forgotten to take them out because I generally leave them somewhere that they're kind of in my way until I take them out. I actually like your idea of doing them a few at a time, but the coffee does mold
Love your video, I've been doing coffee dry , but I was wondering if there is a way to get out the coffee smell ? Otherwise I love how it looks, I do like how you are doing it, and will try it with many papers at a time, thank you!
Hi Ava! Sorry for my delay in responding. I've been out of town. I love the smell of the coffee, so I don't ever try to get rid of it but I have heard of some people adding cinammon to the coffee dye to help with the smell. Also, when I have an old book that doesn't smell great, I put it in a ziplock bag with some baking soda and put it in my freezer for a few days and that helps a lot to get smells out, so you could try that!
Oh thanks so much, yeah I don't really mind it either, I sent some coffee stain paper to my granddaughters, just wanted to let them know if they didn't like it, then they could do something to help with the smell 😁💗 your are so helpful too 👍💕
Great video ! So just to clarify - do you stack the paper in the oven or are they single sheets ? I’ve done tea dying before and it was one sheet and very time consuming !!! Thanks so much and I would love to see the different prints !
im planning on dyeing onion skin paper but i dont exactly have an oven, i wonder if this is ok to do and then leave them outside to dry? probably a stack of 200 sheets...
Hey friend ... sorry for my delay in responding. I've been out of the office for quite a few days and I'm playing catch up. YES! I would think allowing them to air dry, especially onion skin, because it's so thin ... would be the better way to allow them to dry. It shouldn't take them too awfully long either, because onion skin is so thin. Hope it works well for you, my friend
@@shawcraft1 Hey thanks for the response! I already tried this method with onion skin and it works! Though I only did 30-sheet stacks at a time (more than that and the stack of papers gets too wrinkly for my taste). I didn't even have to put them outside, I just placed them in my room, and they dried in just a day 😁I also used fountain pen ink instead of coffee since I've heard coffee-dyed papers can get smelly? I didn't want to risk it since I'm air drying the papers.
Haha! Not lazy, just have better things to do with your time. That's why I do it this way because I don't have a whole day to be in the kitchen dying things lol
I just try to take them out as gently as possible and I get most of them out without tearing them if I take my time. I have them tear too, but not all of them. I actually like the torn ones.
Oh, sometimes I rip it. But I just use the ripped pieces as tag or journal card backers. It's a bit tricky, but sometimes, I will just take the whole stack out of the pan and put it in front of a fan for a while before I start trying to take them apart. Sometimes, they still rip, but I don't mind because I can still use them.
Love Your Fast Way to do Coffee Dyed Paper!!
Thank You!!🥰🥰
You are so welcome! I hope you get to make some and they turn out beautifully!

Thank you sweet friend! tfw and God bless you doll
Thanks for the video! Would have been nice to see the end result.
I would love to see how you make the markings on the paper. Great video!
Thank you! Will do!

You can do it! It's so easy this way!
I live in the South, so I'll be drying mine outside. It's too hot for the oven, but I love your technique. I'm doing it ... this week. Thanks!
Thank you! I'm in the South too, so when it's Summer here I dry mine outside ... I totally agree it's way too hot for the oven!
I forgot you could do it that way. Ty for showing it again
This is quick and easy! I would love to see your other ideas of coffee dyeing! 👍💗☕

Wonderful! I'm so glad you found the video. Yes! You have to watch closely at that temp or you'll start a fire, lol. tfw!!
Thank you for sharing.
I need some more coffee dyed paper but haven't wanted to do it. I put two pieces on a cookie sheet at a time. It takes awhile. This is a great idea.
This is great!! I was just trying to make some of these today and was wondering if there was a faster way. Perfect timing thank you!
You're so welcome! tfw
Good morning Diane!
Fabulous idea I love it, I might try it with file folders. Thanks for the video, hope you have a awesome weekend. Take care!
Thank you! You too! tfw

This tutorial was so helpful Diane!! TFS!! Big Hugs & Blessings!!❤️🥰
Great way to do this. So much easier!! TFS.
Great video; I would move to see how you get the markings on them and the big splotches!
Will do!

Yes!!!! Nobody has time to stand in the kitchen all day, lol. I'm right there with ya!
Will definitely try this method, looks easy to do. I would love more ideas from you. Thanks.
More to come! tfw
Nice maybe this way will work better for me thanks for the video
It's my pleasure! Hopefully, it makes it easier for you

Cuánto tiempo se deja secar? Gracias desde España
I usually let it dry for a day or so ... I spread it out around my house or if it's nice, I put it outside to dry
Your So talented!!!!
Aw, thank you Aunt Yvonne. It's good to hear from you!

I stack them on top of each other and put them in the oven! Makes the drying time so much faster! tfw
@@shawcraft1 thank you
How does it look when dried?
It looks great! You have some dark pages, some light pages and you really get a good variety of colors

I'm going to make some up and leave it to dry while I've still got some. Is that laze or what?! 🙃☕📜 HUGS! 🤗

Every time I have tried to coffee dye paper when I take them out of the pan to put them on the parchment they tear what am I doIng wrong?
I just try to take them out as gently as possible and I get most of them out without tearing them if I take my time. I have them tear too, but not all of them. I actually like the torn ones.
does this paper not tear on you because it so thin.....
Not usually, you just have to be careful with it. You may tear a piece or 2 here or there, but for the most part it does pretty well.
How do you not rip it? I have tried so many times as the paper rips every time no matter how careful I am.
Oh, sometimes I rip it. But I just use the ripped pieces as tag or journal card backers. It's a bit tricky, but sometimes, I will just take the whole stack out of the pan and put it in front of a fan for a while before I start trying to take them apart.
