Love your papers!Years ago I used coffee to dye my papers & I found that over the years they got moldy & smelled So bad that I had to throw out a whole reem of dyed paper. I'm glad I didn't use these papers in projects that I sold. I now use brown liquid water color paint that comes in a bottle.I add water to it to dilute it for lighter colors,I add a tinY bit of red when I want to make it look like tea dyed, also I Add green for a tint of green. one drop or smudge with a brush or I dip a toothpick in the color or roll it on a inkpad.
Thank you for your input. I like coffee but I don’t like a smell of it on papers. We live in a dry climate but with swamp coolers running a lot in summer papers start to smell like they’re moldy. Better to use dye to be safe.
I lay my wet papers on counted cross stitch plastic, cover with a second sheet of plastic canvas, add a weight and wait. The plastic wicks some of the liquid color and leaves behind a grid pattern on the paper. The wicked color can be reactivated with water and the plastic canvas becomes a stamp.
Will you do another video, a short one, to show us the results after these papers are dry? I'd love to see the results. I don't have any re-inkers, but now you've got me thinking ... thanks for sharing, & hugs from Ireland.
I wish there was something higher than a thumbs up that I could give you and your video! I'm very new to paper crafting but I've been watching many and I mean a whole bunch of you videos! I loved your dyed papers but figured I was a few years away from trying. Now I know, I'm only a shopping trip away!!! Thanks for sharing! Stay safe and healthy!
This is a great idea for me. Standing next to the oven watching the things dry get too hard on my body. This is such an easier way to get what I want and so much more at half the cost. Thank you so much and I did subscribe to your channel.
This is a game changer for me! I’ve never had coffee dyed paper because I just didn’t have the space to lay out a bunch of sheets to dry. Thank you so much for this! ❤️
Elsa Cisneros Hi! You don’t need a lot of space! I stack my papers like she is showing here....I place a sheet, spray it, put on a stencil, spray again, put on another sheet and so on until I have a big stack. I let them dry overnight, the next day I carefully peel off the dried top layers until I get to the wetter ones below, then let those dry more and so on. Easy peasy.
Cindy Henry - thanks! I had only seen a few videos about tea dying paper and they all involved immersing the paper and spreading them out to dry. It never occurred to me that there could be a different way since I’ve never done it before. I’m anxious to try it!😊
Oh thank you so much! I’m not able to dye paper the other way so this is perfect for me. I appreciate it so much. God bless and have a wonderful evening. 😊
Are you (mainly) using copy paper? Oh......you just answered me in the video! This is a great technique. I do not have the space for the other methods I have seen. This is do-able. Thanks again for teaching simpler, yet beautiful ways to create.
Thanks for the helpful info. I tried it out but I only had oxide re-inkers in walnut stain and wilted violet. It took them a day and a half to dry because it's been a wet and rainy few days. The walnut stained paper turned out to be quite pale but the purple one is quite vivid. I'd never have thought to try this out, so thank you for sharing your paper dying tips. 😁
This is a really neat idea, this way you can have any color you want for your papers. Love using the dollies, they are so pretty. Love the clean up from the hands. Thank you for sharing.
Oh gosh Edith....I've been dying my paper since this morning using a spray bottle until a light bulb went off & said "you dummy, you got a brush you can use in the file cabinet"! I did, so I went back to town in making more colors. I love this idea on doing it. But I do put mine in the oven for 10 mins or so &VOILA, my very own colored paper.....Be safe & TYFS for sure
Alicia Acosta I love it. I could dye papers like this for hours. Using different items to lay between to see what effect I get. I have to watch my time or I will be at it half a day before I know it. Lol.
Thank you DO MUCH for sharing this. I have mobility issues & going back & forth & to the oven / ironing is a huge ordeal for me. This does the trick perfectly !🤗💯👍🌟🌈☮️
I love to us tattered angels mist spray it’s so beautiful with the shimmer that comes off of it and I just take my heat gun to dry my paper and it has that crinkly sound that I love to hear 😃
Thank you for showing us dyeing paper. I make my own alcohol inks, I just purchased colored sharpies to make some different color inks so your timing was perfect. Thank you!
Beth Tobin wow that is brilliant. You should share this with some of the ladies on here that have said they don’t have reinkers. This would be great for them.
Ms. E - this is such a great idea. I cannot wait to try this. Thank you very much for sharing your tips, tricks, and most of all your talent with us. God bless from Iowa!
thank you thank you thank you! Guess what I did today, lol. Wonderful technique, I've been putting it off because dipping is so messy and time consuming.
Good day! I never understood why people dye with coffee or tea immersing paper in a water /coffee/tea solution when colouring paper is so much easier your (my ) way. I always thought there was a „scrapbooking police“ who demanded your paper to be dyed with natural ingredients (🫣🥴) Why not use my “old” watercolors? Or my food colors? Works great, no harm done to paper or food! And all the colors you can imagine. No fancy and expensive tools and materials needed. I don’t even have those inks. But I have pigments from former Projekts. And I have tons of old make up brushes I don’t use anymore. Here I can vary in brush strokes as well (does that make sense?) I even use a foam paint roller for this. Great work. Thank you for sharing.
I can't wait to try this and it's very easy...thanks Edith. I used paper towel to clean when I use my oxide ink and it stains the paper towel I let it dry and I have some pretty stain paper towel.
Thanks so much! This video just popped up, and it's right on time for me! I have an order of pastel ink refills coming in the mail tomorrow from Stampin-up!
Try hand sanitiser to remove the ink from your hands. Thank you for this video, it'll save me covering my kitchen bench with paper drying on old tea towels.
This is the second time I’ve seen you dye papers, the other time was watercolors. I’ve now dyed papers different hues of yellow to tan with watercolor, flicked metallic gold ink on them, for a bee journal. Thank you so much for the inspiration! Now, I’ll have to try the mica, too!
Ooo, fun. I have the ink pads but not the refills, I think I'll order some now. Thank you for showing us this and thank whoever spoke up and asked for it.
Thank you for this. I tie dye also and if I have dyes left over I have to tip them out as they don't last very long. I have been dying my papers with these dyes before I throw them out. I thought I was a bit dopey doing this but you have confirmed to me that anything goes. I love your colours and as one person asked can you pls show us the dried result? I don't like the smell of coffee when I open my box of papers. Thank you again.
Oh my gosh! I thank you so so so much for this video! I am going to be doing this right away! I mean like NOW. This is awesome! Hugs and blessings to you!
I loved your idea, it's definitely something I would try, also you could do something similar with tea, I collect used tea bags and rub them over my paper to dye them and it makes it quick to dry and also you can put stencils down and dab them over it , x
Hi, do you happen to have a video on how to dye paper with strawberries, blueberries and other fruits? Did you also mention avocado on another video? If not, can you please do a tutorial? I would very much appreciate your guidance. THANK YOU!!!! 😊❤️🍓🍓🍓
Omgosh! Such a simple technique! Thank you so much for doing this! I need to get some re-inkers so I can try this! TFS Looking forward to your next video!

I do the same using watered down acrylic paint. I dry mine in the oven as short of space👍😊
I also use watered down acrylic paint. But I just lay them out in the yard to dry.
Love this way of dying paper. So much easier. Thanks for sharing.

Pamela Henry yes that one goes up tomorrow. And you can use just about anything that will color. Even food coloring.
I wish there was something higher than a thumbs up that I could give you and your video! I'm very new to paper crafting but I've been watching many and I mean a whole bunch of you videos! Great inspiration. I’m going to try this ♥️😊🐈❤️
Miss E.,
Thank you for this tutorial. I hate to coffee dye. Big smelly mess and frequently disappointing. This works everytime.
This is a great idea for me. Standing next to the oven watching the things dry get too hard on my body. This is such an easier way to get what I want and so much more at half the cost. Thank you so much and I did subscribe to your channel.

Oh thank you so much! I’m not able to dye paper the other way so this is perfect for me. I appreciate it so much. God bless and have a wonderful evening. 😊
Miss E, What a GREAT technique for making dyed paper. So cool!!! I too like colored dye paper other than coffee or tea stained paper. TYSMFS!!!❤
This is a great technique, I can’t wait to try it! I also like dying coffee filters.
I dry my used coffee filters and use the brewed coffee for dying
Are you (mainly) using copy paper? Oh......you just answered me in the video! This is a great technique. I do not have the space for the other methods I have seen. This is do-able. Thanks again for teaching simpler, yet beautiful ways to create.

Loved this video!
I add vanilla to my coffee mixture. The papers smell nice.
Awesome idea!
Keep it up u can do it! I believe in u!
Splendid idea using the distress re-inkers. All I need now is plenty of space to dry all the different colours. 😁🤭
Michelle Brooks I leave mine stacked together and just place the bag on my floor under my ceiling fan. They dry in just a little while.
Thanks for the helpful info. I tried it out but I only had oxide re-inkers in walnut stain and wilted violet. It took them a day and a half to dry because it's been a wet and rainy few days. Alicia Acosta I love it. I could dye papers like this for hours. Using different items to lay between to see what effect I get. I have to watch my time or I will be at it half a day before I know it. Lol.

Thank You, This beats a bucket anyday !
Omg, I dyed paper this morning with Strawberries and it turned out beautiful!
Holley Downs: STRAWBERRIES? How? Did you boiled them or heat them? I bet they made the house smell good too.
Holley Downs I have used them too! Makes beautiful pages. Red apple pealing boiled makes beautiful pages as well.
How many pages of paper stacked up at a time? Like this way. I’ll try it. Thank you
That mustard paper reminds me of summer time, I would use it in a bee journal, you have some very pretty papers
Helen Evans great idea!
Great idea! Thank you!!!

What a great idea. Thank you for sharing x
Great way to do this when really limited in space. Thanks for sharing.
So much fun! Love the different colors. I would even add drips to mine. Wonder if the drips would show up after dried. Thank you.
Susan Schultheis yes they do. I have added drips and splatters and they look great!
Thank you for sharing 🌻 I missed how you dry them. I enjoyed listening to you 😊🌼
She puts them in front of her fan in her craft room. 😊
I leave them stacked on the paper and put them under my ceiling fan. They dry in no time.

Hey Eve! Teal and coral are my favorite colors too! Your papers are going to be great! TFS Hugs!
I really like the idea of doing several colours and smaller amounts. And using my reinkers is a great idea!
