Thank you, Gayle. The notebook is a neat and fascinating example of dyeing inexpensive notebooks and using them in leather covers. A million thanks. They make ideal gifts. Keep up with your selfless service.

A hint that I use, cause I'm too impatient, I spray or mist my pages. By using this method, I get different shades of color. But I love how you get the lines & circles. Because I spray, I can use different stencils to give patterns. I also Kool aid dyed so I add more than one color to my pages. Hope this helps someone with ideas for their next paper dyeing day.

Mary how do you use stencils? Cuz i’m used to using the oven. So you dry them on a table and when you do that, do the stencils go on the table first then your coffee paper?

Great video. I have a cat that has to be on the table while I’m crafting. He also loves coffee. We discovered this because he would get on the counter and take the little grate out of the drip tray of the coffee maker and lick the coffee that had dried in the drip tray. Well, when I started journal making I started coffee dying paper and lace. I couldn’t keep the cat out of my stuff. I was constantly finding him in my craft room licking the lace and paper! I had to switch to tea. Thanks for sharing your tips!

Cecilia my cat is the same. About all things. If I sit at my working table in seconds he’s over my notebook, or my bills... if I’m having lunch his on the counter watching me... but never eats anything. Just wants to be near me. Love it. He’s Siamese and my best friend! Only thing I have to hide are the CABLES!!! iPhone, MacBook, Kindle. All destroyed several times. ❣️

Fernanda Christensen Gama Mine is the same about everything too. Not just crafting. My husband tries to work and the cat wants to get on the keyboard of his laptop. Sleeping at night he has to be cheek to cheek but his whiskers tickle my face. 😂

Great video, I’d never thought of using different ‘gridded’ trays to get those great effects. One other thing I have done is after following your process, when the paper is on your cookie sheet and wet sprinkle a very few grains of the instant coffee - preferably on the wettest areas then leave it a minute before putting in the oven. The grains partially dissolve & leave ‘age spots’. Once dried brush the undissolved coffee off and you’re ready to go.

Joy Beasley Thank you!! I’ve wondered how people got that effect. 👏

Thanks! You have me looking at pans and trays differently. I had my own coffee dying going while I was watching and needed more pans. Lesson I learned: a cupcake pan gives the paper really nice circles and if you lay the paper out in the bottom of the roaster pan (like the one you are using to hold the coffee), you end up with great arches dyed into your paper.

I have used hardware cloth, which is metal, comes in 1/4 in. Squares and also 1/2 in. Holes. Works really well. Also have Rit dyed papers, that is always fun. Love your videos 😍

I watched this vid awhile ago but today I’m reviewing because there is a pan of coffee on my counter with papers soaking. I was just checking to remember your process. Thank you much. ✌️🇨🇦❤️🙏

Such an informative video! I am a newbie to junk journaling & this is one of the best I have seen. I'll be on the lookout for some unique pans! Thank you so much for sharing!
