  • Heard of Spadeadam? Do you know what goes on there? There's some fun stuff to be found, and you can find it in MSFS! I take the Indiafoxtecho MB-339 for a full flight from Newcastle to Edinburgh. The MB-339 is available for PC and Xbox. I include a quick start tutorial (less than 2 mins); basic low-level techniques; brief POI tour of Newcastle & Edinburgh; real VFR chart usage; GPS route available to download (eventually!); fly the famous Moffat Valley and a SoFly Weather Preset Pro demo at the end. All in one video! Crazy! Chapters are available to skip to the highlights (but don't miss the tips & tricks along the way!).

Really cool to watch you fly over familiar turf (I'm from Newcastle) I'm off on the sick for 2 months so tomorrow I'll have a go at this route. And the place Hawik is pronounced like Hoyk. I must add my Grandma told me that a while ago and not sure if its a joke. She seemend fairly serious haha

@@cgaviator Thank you Sir. I had a little go at the route. I mainly went looking for Spadeadam after flying over the Angel of The North. I couldn’t find Spadeadam. I was literally on top of it hence why I couldn’t see it. I then went looking for College Valley. There’s some WW2 plane wrecks around there and an RAF memorial. I will deffo have a go at your full route

That was very fun, especially RAF Spadeadam. It is surprising to see the detail that the simulator includes. For me, that's a good chunk of the appeal. I can indulge my love of geography and explore the planet in a way that I cannot do in real life. I don't know if I'll physically make it back to the UK again, but I fly there in the sim frequently. Your videos are inspiring. I'm going to have to watch this again and try it myself.

Entertaining video. I really enjoyed the mix of aviation, sightseeing, and RAF history. UK is a great setting for this sort of flying.
Incidentally just stumbled upon ridge rolls in the DCS L-39 last night south of Kobuleti during a detour from the range to the mountains after failing to figure out bombs setup. I was working on consistent roll-in to a 30 degree dive on the abandoned airfield, so I'll have to try that little trick you showed up at Spadeadam.
These videos have definitely exposed me to a part of aviation I never knew much about, and it's ideal for flight sims. I'll give this route a try this week.

This has been on my "to watch" list for a while, I'm glad I managed to find time for it. Great to see the Big To Small technique. As for low levels, "Be still my beating heart" - even a couple hundred feet difference and the apparent speed seems incredible. External low flying for footage is risky but under the Tyne bridge is really showing off your skill. Here's a non-UK low level route for you: Spangdahlem to Koblenz, follow Der Lorelei sirens down the Rhine to Mainz, east to Frankfurt and continue to Fulda. OHMS airmail delivery of a B61 at Eisenach (sorry Wartburg castle). RTB any route westward (although sometimes I deviate to Seigen and follow the valley north to Kromback because I like their wheatbeer). Just east of Bonn are a pair of castles. Then any route home but down the Rhine to Remagen (and its WWII significant bridge) to Koblenz. F/A-18 has enough gas low-level. I've done it with Hawk and Macci, but on unlimited fuel (cheat) while exploring, so would have to try again with drop tanks and limited fuel back on. And for my homeland, anywhere in the South Island of New Zealand is pretty good. Christchurch to Farlie is flat but then to Tekapo, Pukaki and then south to Wanaka and Queenstown mixes glacial and river valleys.

It's always a pleasure watching your videos. Feels like flying the real thing, the scenery in MSFS is so damn well done. I wish some of those module developer companies would bring out an RAF SEPECAT Jaguar GR.1 in the camouflage of the Gulf War. You see them so seldom in any flight, SIM actually never saw any for FSX, Prepar3D or MSFS 2020... It's such a beautiful jet.

Hard to believe the performance of that jet given the tiny, tiny intakes. They look like they were made to a different scale from the rest of the aircraft. Awesome :-) I hope you were booked into 20 Tango! My first 100ft trip in the Tornado was flown down the Moffat Valley. As we exited heading west towards a laydown target at 500 kts we passed over the A74 trunk road at (video 21:21) and I looked right, almost into the cab of a truck! I thought to myself, how can this be legal, but it was :-) Sorry to the truck driver for the surprise. Here is a link to a Tornado GR1 video making a simulated attack from N to S into Spadeadam EW range. About half way through you can hear the crew chaffing and the Radar Warning alerting them to various engagements from the ground.

A YT video (ruclips.net/video/Prnthv4uxeE/видео.html) shows a couple of Eurofighters flying from RAF Conningsby, around the Mach Loop, through the Lake District and then returning to base. In the Lake District, they fly: Lake Windermere - Little Langdale - Eskdale - Wast Water - Buttermere - Crummock Water. Low is the way to go,I get bored at altitude, flew from EGLF to Valley in the 339 and got bored at 3000' very quickly so did most of the run @ 200'.I have those weather presets and also have presets by DNBOF (flightsim.to),two main differences are with the latter you have the facility to glide with thermals and if you park a light aircraft and crank up the preset to around hurricane force,it will toss the G A around like a cork. This will not happen with the former..........................
