That was super helpful! Thank you so much :)
Just purchased Logitech M585/590 Multi Device Mouse and K780 Multi- Device Wireless Keyboard - Watched this video and found it super easy to follow and hands on set-up took no time to complete. Flow Control is Awemsome and will increase my productivity!! Great tutorial - to the point and detailed with NO BS or ad libbing!! AWESOME JOB!!!!
Glad you liked it! Logitech nailed it on this setup.
This is what I was looking for! Thanks HelpCloud!
No problem!
@@HelpCloud Hey... Mr Cloud? :) I have MX Keys and Master 3 mouse, but I having some problems with Flow, don't know if you could just help me for a second please.
I have up-to-date Logi Options installed on both computers (2 ethernet desktop PCs running from the same router). I don't know if this is normal or not, but in Logi Options, Flow can only be enabled with the mouse, _not_ the keyboard (Keys doesn't even show a Flow tab to select), is this right?
The keyboard only switches between computers if I push the relevant device key, it doesn't do it automatically, and the mouse only goes from one computer to the other (with Flow), not back again to the original. To go back I have to use the button on the bottom of the mouse. Do you have any ideas what might be the problem?
Awesome bro! I struggled to set up flow through the instructions provided by Logitech. The instructions you provided in your video was really clear and easy to follow! Thank you
Really! thanks Aaron! this video helped. searched a bunch of videos on youtube too! Thanks !!!!
Wow, you made this so easy for a non techie person like me. I was able to connect KEYS and MX 3 Mouse to work between two screens Mac and PC. Makes life easier.
Thank you so much.
You're welcome!!
GREAT HelpCloud !!!
Thanks for the video! Loving this for my workflow!
Same, I love the Flow software!
Dang I had no idea this feature existed. Have been on the fence about moving from Magic Mouse to Mx master for a while and this video pulled the trigger for me. Well done.
I'd already ordered them both before watching this video, and I was so pleased to find out about 'flow'. I am really impressed with just how fast they're able to switch between devices already but this is some serious QOL. I am mac to mac but I can imagine how good this must be for windows to mac. Awesome work logitech.
I think anyone used to work on dual+ monitors from one machine can understand how frustrating it is to then work on the same two monitors but with different machines and inputs.
When you get yours, you may want to try the new software, it has a face lift and worked better for me. Here is the new video
ruclips.net/video/lRZGvMDzCto/видео.html
Thank you. A colleague wanted to know how this worked and you explained it better than I would have done.
You're welcome!
Excellent video! I was able to set up my MX Keys and MX Master 3 on my Macbook Pro and Windows PC smoothly with your guidance. Thanks!
Glad it helped!!
Thanks for this video! I’m using the MX Master 3S on a Windows desktop and a laptop. I was switching manually before learning about the flow function. Now I have it enabled and it works great.
Thank you. This was more useful than searching through all of Logitech's pages and almost everywhere I looked for this type of information.
You're very welcome!!
This feature ROCKS!!! I was having a challenge with a new setup and this resolved my issues. Thanks
Awesome!
fantastic video! you're clear, informative, and helped me get what i was looking for. thanks!
Glad it helped!
@@HelpCloud how would you use flow of both systems have dual (or more monitors). .can i change the screens on flow to mirror my display settings in windows?
This absolutely bonkers. I use my desktop for my main schoolwork, and I use my mac for research and video editing.
One keyboard and mouse is absolutely insane for productivity, the seamless transition is amazing.,
I have loved the software. The new Options + (beta) should build on it more.
Yep. Clearly it implies that one has to have two monitors, and use only one at a time, but it's a great solution *now* that Microsoft decided to disable Remote Desktop in windows home.
Good video, thx! did you see any lag when using it on mac? I've tried some softwares to control 2 macs with my mac keyboard and mouse like ShareMouse and Synergy, but both have a huge lag when on the "client" machine, they say this just happens on macs over wi-fi, can you please share about your experience with the Logitech MX 3? thx
I havn't noticed a ton of lag on the Mac so far. It is instant. I have been eyeballing the MX 3(came out right after I snagged the 2s) I will post a video on that as soon as I have one.
This is for me the biggest advantage for Logitech. The mouse movement is not going through the wifi but it is using the unifying receiver/Bluetooth of the computer you are controlling.
I had to come back because listen when I say you have a new subbie for life. Listen after I purchased the Performance K850 combo and followed your video. I'm so happy!!! I really loved this tip.
Good video! If you have two macs, what is the main diff between this and universal control?
Great video bro! Straightforward and clear. Thanks for the help!
Glad it helped!!
This video is the best! Thank you! I looked at lots of videos when trying to set up my Logi Mx Key + Mouse. Nothing got me to 'flow' until this video. Shoot, I didn't even know it was 'flow' that I needed until this video. Logi should pay you make their 'how-to' vid. When technology works like this, it's top flight, top functionality.
Appreciate the feedback, I will be recreating a video when their new software is released. It is suppose to fix common issues with Mac.
Thank you! I couldn't figure out why the mouse would flow but the keyboard had to be switched manually. As you pointed out in your video I had to link the keyboard.
Glad I could help!
Hi . Thanks for the detailed video. Love the precise way of laying out the details. Have a question will the screen flow work ( copy and paste function) between a Mac and Windows PC if I only have the MX Master 3 mouse and not the keyboard.
Right click and copy, then right click on the other machine and paste!
thanks man, very helpful subbed
Glad it helped! Thanks for the sub!
Thanks for this, You only had to mention requiring downloading the software to get me through. Cheers from Australia.
You're welcome!!
very good introduction, thanks!
You bet!
Thank you, buddy, it helped a lot. Now I understand how it works
Hello, thanks for the video it was very helpful, I was able to set up both Mx Master 3 and MX Keys to my desktop pc and my macbook air, the problem I have is that sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, I don't know if it has anything to do with the Desktop being connected via LAN and the MBA being connected via WIFI , have you had any issues like this?
I have recently had issues, I notice most when the Mac goes to sleep. I wonder if it is something with Catalina.
Looking to potentially order the MX Master 3 and K380 keyboard. Once you connect the 2 or 3 computers/devices to the mouse and keyboard, is it as seamless as just moving your mouse between screens (or hitting control like in the video), or do you have to manually hit the button on either the keyboard or bottom of the Master 3 mouse to switch between screens?
If you have both the mouse and a keyboard, you can set it either with holding control or not.
Hi there!
Thanks for the great video. - Much appreciated. But have one question, So I just got the keyboard, following your video but do I have to have the Logitech MX 2 morse or above to enable flow? I have the MX Mouse 1 (I think it's the 1), but flow doesn't show up on the right. Both are connected to the same network, both have security elements ticked in Daemon and Options and both are connected to the two devices. But I don't see options at all on the right under devices.
So thought I would reach out and ask.
:)
You need at LEAST the Master 2s, even the Master 2 will not work. They introduced the Flow setup starting with Master 2s.
@@HelpCloud $%^& really? It won't work if you just have the keyboard. That is ridiculous! Grrrr.
Thanks though! I was just thinking that it could be because the mouse issue. Much appreciated.
Aaron, great video!
A quick question: does our MX Master 2S also make that "click" sound when you switch between computers? I think that's what I heard at 4:18.
I'm also using my 2S to work on a Windows PC and a MacBook Pro and that sound kind of annoys me but if there's no way to make switching silent, I'll probably get used to it with time.
Yes, that click noise is the electronic "clutch" in the scroll wheel. You may be able to turn that off by matching the settings of the scroll on both Mac & PC Logitech Options software.
@@HelpCloud I'll try that out. Thanks for the reply and for the suggestion.
Very informative video! I’ve set up Flow and the mouse moves between two MacBooks just fine - around 1s delay I would say. Not a big deal for me.
However, the copy and paste function does not work. I tried to copy and paste a docx file and it shows up on the other MacBook for one second and when I click on it, the file just disappears.
Also tried to copy and paste text, it doesn’t work at all.
I followed the troubleshooting steps on logi support and checked the firewall setting as well, everything seems to be set right but copy and paste just doesn’t work - any ideas how to fix?
In the logitech software you have the option enabled as well?
Hi Great tutorial!
I only got the MX master3 mouse, I found the mouse pointer won't cross to another computer before you log in your PC/MAC account. that's quite inconvenient, is there any sitting can change that?
I can do some testing, I would bet not as it sounds like a security thing on Apple's end.
thanks brother your the best i have one question ive searched everywhere. hoping you can answer. i have logetech options plus the beta when connected to mac does this over ride the mouse settings on the Mac?
Not that I know of!
Will this work for a desktop connected via ethernet and the laptop on wifi connection both connected through a router?
I am using my mouse between my personal and work laptops. I cant see the flow option! is there any reason for that? also, I am not able to download the logistics optional app on my work laptop. do I have to have it there in order to see the flow option?
super useful video man! Thanks, and I have a question btw, do you think the MAC version of mx master 2s/ 3 will work on windows?
I am not sure. I would think it does and that the mac version is just a marketing gimmick.
Thanks for the neat tutorial, only one question though; So the pairing button at the bottom of the mouse is used only for pairing it with the devices and I don't have to press it every time I need to use the mouse with one of the paired devices?
Yes, and if it doesn't auto swap for any reason, you can press the button to manually swap devices.
@@HelpCloud Mehh. I'm also having the issue with auto swapping. For some reason, once I swap over from the Mac that has the BT connection it cannot swap back. So the only work around for me is to press the button manually and that to me defeats the purpose. Do you know if there are known fixes for this issue?
Hi, does duolink function work with mx key and mx master 3 combo?
Yup! MX Master 3 is part of the Flow family.
Great video. Definitely gonna pick one of these up.
Hope you enjoy it!
can you connect as a third monitor in the flow an android tablet for example? or to move into the tablet it is necessary to shift manually?
Hi, have you got a solution during this time please ?
Hi, my 2 computers are on 2 different wifi networks. Is there any way I can connect them with a cable and be able to use Flow?
super helpful video, thank you! i was wondering, whats that for a wooden monitor stand, do you have a link where to buy it? ^^
Many thanks. I had hoped that I could use my MX not only for my PC (which I already had set up) but also my Samsung TV (which would have been nice for RUclips searches on the TV but your note that "... the devices in question must be running the Logitech Low software..." clarified that ti couldn't be done. That saved me countless hours so again, thanks!
Glad I could help!!
Thanks! Im getting it soon :)
Hope you like it!
Helpful video. Is there a way to extend the screen so that there are 2 monitors for a PC and or Mac? Originally that's what I was looking for in an HDMI KVM switch but was told to check this out not sure if it does the same or if it's only the one screen for each option.
If you have multiple screens for each machine then you can set those up on a per computer basis. The Flow software just xfers the mouse/keyboard control between them.
HelpCloud thank you. I let it go & went with a more common sense approach and opened the other tabs & apps on the Mac. I was about to ruin the whole point to less equipment & the beauty of the sharing feature. Forrest for the trees. I was to caught up on dual screens I was about to miss it all
*THIS IS AMAZING.*
Thank ya!
I just installed a window computer with my Mac mini and uses one monitor. I have a Logitech mx5 mouse. Can I use flow to use the same mouse. Appreciate a mail as an answer
do you know if I can program a button to switch the channel? bc my work computer wont let me download logitech software.
You can't.
Thank you for the video!
Do you need both a mouse and keyboard for the file transfer? Or will the mouse suffice
is it possible to flow between ipad pro 2020 and windows with just mx master 3 mouse? I could not do that. Although I have a folio pro keyboard as well.
Flow does not support iOS as of right now.
If I have two computers and one of them has dual monitors, with the second computer (splitting the dual monitors, so three in a row but the middle is a laptop), can you get the orientation setup to understand that? Currently I have them set as if they were stacked one on top of each other.
No, the software is limited to understand just machines and not monitors plugged into said machines.
k580, pop keys and pop mouse are also compatible right?
Thanks for showing how it works! I also wanted to point out that you can right click on a Mac. either use the right mouse button or press control and then left click. If you are using a trackpad click with 2 fingers, or hold control then click.
Discovered this afterwards, thanks for the info!
how about the bluetooth/usb and channel 1, 2, 3 config on both computers ? I'm missing that part.
Each number is a device you can connect it to. Your connectivity options are USB, Bluetooth or 2.4 Wireless.
Hello, is there any limitation on a file size or you can move from 1 computer to another with any file size?
I haven't found a limit. Remember it is over wireless connection so large files will be really slow.
Sorry if this has been answered. Can you have two Logitech MX 3S mice. Connected to one laptop? At different times though, of course
I want to buy a spare one for the office like the one I have at home
I am interested in this product. However, my work tablet would not allow me to install software (nor would my work’s IT department ever do it). So, does the software have to be on all devices you want to flow from? Or can you install it on a personal device for configuration?
Can I use the flow mode ( with first version of the Logitech mx master ) ?
You can't, it does require Master 2s or higher.
Hi, this was a really helpful video. just one question. I notice that your monitor is an LG 34 and I assume you can do the split screen where you have 2 different devices plugged into and the monitor splits them. If you were to do that. Could you control your windows with the Logitech keyboard and then control the MacBook pro with the trackpad? so both cursors move on the Ultrawide as they are independent. Hope this makes sense hahaha
Yes you can! The screen being split acts as 2 different screens.
Do both the mouse and keyboard need to be connected via Bluetooth or the unifying USB adapter on each computer? Trying to set up on 2 Macs but no luck.
Correct, we have seen issues with moving from one machine to the other if both are using Bluetooth. I have not found a work around yet.
Is there a way to enable flow into corsair software?
Good video. What if one of the computers is turned off. Will the mouse and keyboard connect to the one that is turned on?
Also, can the Mouse and or Keyboard turn on a PC remotely?
If the PC is turned off, the flow software does not work. So to answer your second question, no if the PC is off it can't turn it on remotely.
grate video, ez and simple explanation well done
Glad it helped!
Great video tutorial. Do you have any information about how these mice work with chrome books? Thanks again.
Since Flow doesn't work on Chromebooks, you will be able to use this mouse if the Chromebook has bluetooth but you won't be able to use Flow.
You're right, it works with my chronebook on bluetooth, I'm able to switch between it and my macbook but no flow. Too bad because it seems to be a great mouse otherwise. Hey logitech, show some love for chromebooks. Afterall, its the poor man's pc. Thanks again @@HelpCloud.
awesome stuff, thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Thanks, but I have a couple questions. I assume, if you're using the Unifying Device, you need one for each computer? Also, when you pair the the mouse or keyboard to both computers, are they doing it using the same device switch setting (1, 2 or 3), or is it #1 for computer 1 and #2 switch for computer 2?
You will either need a unifying device for each or one for one and the with bluetooth. You do want to pair them in order.
Hey there, I can't seem to make it work (cant find the Flow tab) with MX keys only (no mouse). Is it possible? Or I need to get a Flow compatible logitech mouse? Thanks!
You need to have a Flow compatible mouse.
Hi, which multidevice mouse and keyboard do you recommend for 2022?
I love my MX Master 3 & MX Keys.
Does flow work on iPad Pro? Is it possible to download the software to the latest version of IOS and use flow between iPad Pro and a Windows laptop? thanks
Flow is only supported on MacOS or Windows. Mobile OSs are not supported.
Great video! Thank you!!👍👍❤️❤️
Thank you too!
Am i suppose to do anything after enabling and linkin the keyboard? i cant seem to scroll to the next screen/monitor yet, even holding "control". HELP
What operating systems are you using?
is there a gaming version of this keyboard and mouse? i got a pc and mac
@HelpCloud.... do we need a Logitech options app on both the devices, even if I am not looking to use copy/paste feature between the devices?
Yes you need flow for it to function.
Thanks for your reply man, @@HelpCloud so just to be clear, I cannot do this right - Connect physical Bluetooth to one device and on second device set it up using the flow app or Bluetooth LE. Asking this as I have a Corp device which does not allow me to install any apps 😊
The app controls the flow from one machine to the next. You need flow in order to auto switch devices and/or transfer files.
I have the MK850 KB and M720 Triathlon Mouse. I have the Unifying device connected to a Mac Mini and both KB/Mouse working on it fine. I switch both of them to position #2 and paired them with a Windows 10 laptop, which also worked. Now I switch back to #1 and enabled Flow. It detected the Windows laptop and connected fine. Both mouse and KB recognized the name of the Windows laptop. I positioned the monitors side by side but moving the mouse to the edge is not transferring. What am I getting wrong?
Do you have the control option checked?
Quick question: my second device is my work computer and they do not allow me to have Logitech Flow installed. I have the MX Keys and I can switch pretty seamlessly between the two devices, but is it the same process with the mouse? Currently I have Bluetooth enabled on my personal PC and USB on my second computer so can I do the same with the mouse if I get the MX master 2 or 3? I don’t want to spend $60+ for it to not work since I can’t install the software on both devices
Just like your MX Keys, there is button on the bottom of the mouse that allows you to swap to 3 different devices. Master 2 does not support flow in case you are ever able to install it. Flow was introduced on the Master 2s and Master 3.
thank you! You helped me out.
Glad I could help!
can logitech flow work only with mx anywhere 3 ? i mean without the mx keys ..
I tried to link my keyboard to FLOW but the tab "Link Keybaord" always show "disable"; eventhough, my mice can move over two laptops by the flow function and logitech option program already found my MX KEYS. Any suggestion for this issue?
You need to set the "link keyboard" on the Primary computer & make sure it is programmed to both.
Hello, great video, however, I don't have compatible Logitech devices. I have a previous generation of Logitech keyboards MK550 and MK710. What are my other hardware or software options to control two laptops with one of them?
A program called "Synergy" is going to be your best bet
symless.com/synergy
That's crazy helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
hello i have a dual monitor set up next to each other, my right side is windows, then i have a macbook pro connected to the external monitor on the left, if i open the macbook pro will it recognize the macbook pro screen at the bottom and will it all flow on all three screens? or is flow just for 2 screens next to each other ? id gladly appreciate it! thank you!
Flow detects the computers and not individual monitors. You will want to orient the flow software to match the may the machines are setup.
HelpCloud thank you, I figured it out 👍
hello HelpCloud, i cant get flow enabled on either of my machines, i have done everything the app suggests and yet i cant get flow enabled. i am using a windows laptop and a macbook pro. what am i missing here?
Are they both on the SAME network?
Bro literally just changed my life. 🙏
Awesome! Glad I could help!
Excellent video and very helpful for anyone using Logitech mouse and keyboards
Appreciate it!
how about flow between macbook and ipad?
Hi, I have the M720 triathalon and for some reason when I go to the flow tab in Logi Options it doesnt show that way. It has a button at the bottom that say "Enable" but when I click on it and it doesnt work (I followed all the required steps other than enabling), it fails and says I need to enable...after clicking the enable button lol what do I do?
Try the options+ software. This is their new software that has been re-engineered.
www.logitech.com/en-us/software/logi-options-plus.html
That's pretty sick
thanks for the help!
No problem!!
Great video, thank you. Wondering if someone can help with an issue. I have paired my MX3 mouse to both my Macbook Air and Mac mini. Flow is enabled on both. They are talking to each other as if I change settings in flow on one it shows up on the other. I can then scroll across from the Macbook Air to the Mac Mini, but not the other way around. both are using Samsung 4k monitors. both are slightly underscanned. I have tried changing the orientation of each machine to try off every edge of the Mac Mini but it just wont transfer across. Any thoughts anyone? Ta
Good timing, we just released a new video using the Options Plus software, try that out and let me know how it goes.
ruclips.net/video/lRZGvMDzCto/видео.html
Thanks, this is so damn excellent!
You bet!
Here’s where I am confused. I have an mx master 3s and mx mech. Two bolt receivers (one for mouse one for KB). After pairing with the first PC, I have to remove both receivers and plug them into the 2nd PC. Then I remove one of them and put it back in the first pc? Can it be either one? Can you manage the receivers in the software?
You can't manage the receivers in the options software, you can open up the unifying software to manage them.
this is awesome! the keyboard as well is brilliant. logitech rocks!
Couldn't agree more!
If I have an MX mouse, (MX Master 2) but a wired keyboard (K740) will the Keyboard still follow the mouse between devices (ala MouseWithoutBorders)?
It will not, also I don't believe the Master 2 is compatible unless it is the Master 2s.
Hi, I hope you can answer some questions for me? when pairing the mouse to 3 computers, pair the first one computer using the unifying receiver and using channel one, the second computer on channel two via Bluetooth, and the third computer on channel 3 via Bluetooth, is this correct? You can't pair all 3 computers to the mouse using the Unifying Receiver?? Thanks for any help you give to help me understand this section of pairing in Flow setup!
You can do a few configurations. You can do what you have done. You can also connect 3 USB receiver if you have 3 of them. You can also just pair to the one receiver and move the USB to each machine, this method of course defeats the need for Flow.
i got 2 computers. is their a way i can use my keyboard and mouse on my first computer and have the 2nd computer mimic everything i do( such as movments and keypresses).
i dont want sharing i just want to have 2nd pc mimic exactly what i press and move mouse. Possible?
Not with this software.
Hello all. Just wondering if the flow technology works between a MacBook Pro and iPad Air? I’ve been trying it out but seems like iPad Air does not support flow technology as Logi options can’t be installed....
It does not as the Flow does not support iOS.
Love that purple wallpaper. Can I ask where did you download it from?
I honestly can't remember. I know I downloaded off an ultrawide site then loaded into photoshop to change the hue
what I mean is if we press 2 on the mx keys kb, it should automatically switch the mouse as well to the 2nd laptop instead of manually pressing the button on the bottom of the mouse . ..as both the keboard and the mx 3 mouse are both master series. cant we configure the mouse and keyboard in logitech options software somewhere so that when you click the button on the keyboard it automatically sync the mousealong with the mx keys keboard - configration > Can you please research that and advise. I think it can be done as these 2 are both MX series. Its the flow circuti bru. It can be done. ...
