- Need to edit faster? Me too. I wish I knew these customization hacks for the Logitech MX Master mouse, but I spent two years not getting the most out of my mouse. I didn't realize what potential I had not unlocked until recently. I want to be sure you're getting the top speeds you can from this super customizable mouse. I'm using on a daily basis the grandma of these models (Logitech Performance MX) for more than 13 years already and it is still working fantastic :). Only changed the battery once - a standard AA (Ni-MH) battery. Compared to the newer models the main differences are there is not side scroll wheel (there is one more button instead) and the absence of the gesture options. But the available customization options and shortcuts were more than enough for me anyways. Everything else is the same including the customization of different shortcuts for different applications. So if you are still able to find it somewhere used it will be a great deal. Those things were build to last - 13 years and still counting, with more than 10 hours per day heavy editing work. Not sure if this applies to the newer versions though... Nowadays they don't make things to last long, as companies' strategies shifted to making more profit... Only time will tell ;)

Now we’re talking :) Good walkthrough :) I usually keep a piece of paper pinned next to my screen with all customizations for the first couple of weeks after doing a customized setup, both to remind me I’ve set them up and what they are, having 5-6 sets of customizations spread over resolve, ableton live, photoshop +++ quickly gets out of hand :)

Just got a new mouse last week. Trying to figure out best way to customize buttons….playing with a few ideas but no sure what I like yet. I use davinci resolve for editing. Hoping to speed up my editing once I optimize the custom buttons.

@@FellowFilmmaker this could go back and forth for a while, but the gratitude is mine. Sure now it is the master3 I have, but pretty similar enough for me to be so happy you came up on my recommendations. Luckily for me it is much less than 2 years, but things like mapping the forward and back buttons to trim edits is awesome, the multiple gesture mapping, which I really don't think I would have gotten to without someone such as yourself is awesome for someone that doesn't really want to have two hands on the keyboard. Of course I will now sub and hopefully catch up with some more of your content that I am sure is going to be just informative and another good a watch. Thank you again for your time and effort. Did they get rid of the "go to website" option? I dont see it in my app (note I have the MX3, not sure if it matters)
Does the shortcuts work on a different computer. if it does not have the Logitech app.
if i set up all the shortcuts in my personal laptop(not app specific) and i want to use them in my work laptop which does not allow external apps like the Logitech app. will this work?
i wish it could recognize if you are in the color tab or the editing tab and use differetn shortcuts... would love to zoom in and out by hold pressing the top wheel but in color tab i need it to copy paste grades ... anyways im happy just got it yesterday ... lots o thigs to learn

How do you get the logiteck options apt.
I just bought the MX Master 3 and it doesn’t even have the zoom using scroll wheel option. And the horizontal scroll with the thumb wheel barely works.
Can't believe i never, ever, did those costume things!!! I have the mx2 for years and I was just using the basic - one function- per key.
Well I hope you get to customize it soon! Really is quite powerful
The only thing missing is a MX Master for lefty... I know, i already asked 4 times directly to logitec and they redirect to the ambidex ones... and skip the problem. So they doesn't care about left mouse at all.
I agree, a left-handed one would make sense for those who need/want it. But I imagine for profit in their case, it would not be all that great of a choice.

I didn’t know this was possible !! 😮😮 I was hesitant about getting the magic mouse cuz I don’t like the ergonomics, but I wanted yo have gestures for Mac Os.

Honestly the 2s is fine, but I do have the 3s now and it's been pretty good ( a few features missing tho, which is too bad)
Zoom in out actually works in Davinci but in a strange way: assign a keyboard shortcut to thumb button like opt+w (nothing) then it works thumb + wheel zoom in out in davinci. I try this without keyboard shortcut assignment then it doesn't work, simple does nothing.
Hi! I work a lot with image processing in Photoshop, and I have a lot of tendinitis, which affects me a lot. It is possible in Logitech MX Master 3s, to fix and disable a tool,
so that it is not continuously "pressing or clicking". Do I need Logitech keyboard-MX Key support ? Thank you.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but if you're asking if you can have it where you don't press or click for certain gestures or shortcuts you set up, then I'm not aware that is possible. Otherwise it's just a basic mouse at that point if you choose not to use the buttons.

can you customize it for a specific website? such as when im on youtube i want th e side wheel to scrub the video but when im on other webpages i want it to change tabs
I don't believe so. You can customize it for a chrome or any other application type situation, but I don't see where you could do that for just a webpage. I could be wrong, but that's what I know so far

That's the standard American English pronunciation. It's called a glottal 'T.' See also: certain, satin, cotton, kitten, etc.
Can you use push of wheel to be Copy swipe right or Past scroll left as example?
oh yeah, you def can :D I do stuff like that alot. I use the scroll wheel for deleting stuff

Just bought it but there is no way to make it work with Da Vinci, it doesn't appear in the software list and there is no way to find it.

It does work, so maybe you need to restart or update software
1:52 - Open web page ... did this get removed or something? I can't find it anywhere. I'm using an MX Masters 3 on Windows 10 with logi options ver. 1.24.2581
Yeah ive been tryin to get Logitech to do something bout that one. I bought the mx3 recently and was surprised to find several features missing with the new logi options+ program.
They havent resolved it yet and said the best thing to do was to submit forms requesting the feature.

edit: is it possible in any way to use the last version it was available? Im guessing not since logitech requires to be tethered to your pc 24/7 to use the product...... I love the mouse I hate the required intrusion
Sadly the MX3 doesn't work with the old version of options...
And you should be able to use the mouse wirelessly with bluetooth...
If you don't like how the MX3 is treating you, I prefer the MX master 2s which you can still buy and use with the old options program that has all the features I've shown
@@FellowFilmmaker I'm not that worried I can make a shortcut through chrome then open file shortcut.. I just don't understand Logitech's software team they are an embarrassment well, at least the app development teams. None o their software is up to par for the size of their company and the amount of time they have been a top industry name
I like to use my stream deck for shortcuts as well for where the mouse can't do what I want :D I think between the two it gets done what I need to.
But I agree, it is sad they don't put more effort into the features

Mine randomly microdisconnects all the time. It's so frustrating watching my mouse lag and flutter around only to tell me it's not connected, even though its still moving
That is no fun, I had an issue like that once on an older computer (I think the bluetooth was going out)
Fantastic video. Surprising how few videos there are with people showing their productivity tips. Plenty of videos telling you how loud each of the 3 Logitech keyboard types are though :)
I've been tried to personalized this mouse and certain things just doesn't work and do not understand. :(

What’s the diff between 2s and 3?
Main difference is they moved the side buttons a little down so they are easier to reach with your thumb. Slight shift really. Otherwise, they are nearly the same. :D
I didn't know the thumb rest was a button! I guess I never pressed that hard
all of this is very cool, I own my mx master for 3 years and have never thought about this seriously. I do have 1 question though. How do you set the DPI of this mouse to an actual consistent setting? It was possible by counting increments in options, not anymore in options+

_ Recently, from the Logitech support pages, older versions of Logitech Options, which allowed the use of mice and keyboards on older operating systems, were deleted. This program allows you to use the full potential of these devices by setting additional buttons, rollers, and gestures to suit your needs.
_ Eg for macOS from Apple, Logitech Options cannot be downloaded for older systems below macOS v 10.14. In the case of Windows, the situation is better, the support for W7 has been canceled.
_ What can users of older Apple computers do? Lots of people have bought expensive Logitech mice and keyboards and use them with old computers. Many of them are professionals, who therefore use old computers and old systems - because they have very expensive programs installed there that serve them for up to 10 years. They appreciated Logitech equipment for its durability, reliability and the ability to adapt to their work style. The problem is, you can't set up these Logitech devices without dedicated proprietary software.
_ Logitech, which creates itself as a world leader - does not care about its customers.

Oh yeah, the gesture button... the most awkwardly placed, stiff, annoying button made for tiny hands, requiring an customization app which begs you to set up an account all the time, which then functions pretty much like spyware.
I suppose I've gotten a bit used to it myself, but I'm sure other sized hands have struggles
