To the point! It's the first time in so long I was able to watch a Tech video without having to skip at all! Thank you for making this video with so much worth per word.
Just bought the 'PC' version for my Mac Mini M2 in white and used the bolt connector to the Mini's USB-A port to benefit from higher poling rates than over bluetooth and to leave bluetooth bandwidth free for other things. Oh...and saved 20 bucks in doing so. Thanks for the video!
Planning to do the same with my M1 Mac Studio. Saw that Bestbuy has the windows version on sale. I like the darker colors on the windows mouse vs the mac version.
Hey, thank for doing these videos. You are probably the only one who clearly said 3S and 3S for Mac were identical, except for packaging and the dongle. However, there were so many comments on youtube about bluetooth issues with mac, and the 3S being not compatible with Mac OS, and I couldn't find any information about 3S compatibility with old Macs. My very first MX, a while back, was tracking so erratically on my macs and I ended up giving it to the 'windows guys' in our office! Today I went ahead and purchased an MX3S (Not the 'for mac' version) and paired it with a late 2012 iMac running Catalina and 2015 MBP running Monterey just via bluetooth. So far so good! Silky smooth mouse tracking, and the logi options + app, on top of all the fancy customisations, allows dragging content from one computer to the other when both the computers have the app installed and on the same network; bit of a moot situation for the macs because of the availability of airdrop, but would be awesome on windows I guess! Thought this might help others like me and hence the long comment!

In the packaging of the Master MX 3S for Mac, you get a usb-c to usb-a converter. Its a little tab that goes on the end, its about 1cm in length so its very compact. It means there is no difference in cables between these two devices unless you want both usb-c to usb-c and a usb-c to usb-a.

I'm sure someone with common sense at Logitech asked them to ship with a USB-C to USB-A adapter (like $1 add-on) and include the LogiBolt dongle and a USB-C cable in ONE model with no variance other than the color. Having two separate products to produce surely outweighs the "benefit" of having a "Mac specific" version of packaging... DUMB!!!

Test both on Mac bro.
I can't find the app for some reason any guidance on how to get the app for the mouse?
Logitech claims they have optimised Bluetooth performance on a Mac with a for Mac version. Is that true? I tried a regular 3S and it is awesome over Bolt receiver but I feel lag over Bluetooth. Is it any better on Bluetooth with a for Mac version?
Source? Is that news new?
@@danisani222 actually it’s on their website on the “For Mac” version’s page
Amazing video, explains everything. Thanks!
Do I get both if I have both Mac and PC or just the MX 3S with the dongle? What are the MX3S limitations when it comes to Mac?
Thanks! Good review, all to the point!
Deciding factors cannot be based on usb cables. I would decide based on color
Why make a "Mac" version that does not work with Mac at the login screen after restart? It only works after login!!!!
What Polling Rate do you get in macOS with the Logitech Master 3S for Mac?
Do you have the answer?
@@rayden7803It depends. With macOS Ventura I got around 95. But with Sonoma it got worse, around 70.
@@Erik.Lundberg it’s a shame they advertise it as a ‘mac’ mouse without optimal support
Anyone .... does the horizontal scroll button work well and smooth on a Mac ... mine is nothing like the horizontal functiono with an Apple mouse ... I inadvertantly picked up the "non-mac" version ... was getting ready to take it back because the horizontal scrool is not working smoothly at all ... but it seems there's really no idffference in the MX 3s. versions except for the dongle and color scheme ... any input would be greatly appreciated ......
around 1 min mark... r u very sure the mac one can only connect via bluetooth? im sure it could connect to the usb dongle if u had one from another mouse or bought it seperatley... surely... ?
straight to the point man!
Is the MX Master 3s for Mac compatible with the Apple Magic Keyboard with Touch ID? And is it compatible with the Logitech MX Keys Mini keyboard?
Is there a speed difference between bluetooth and dongle?
In my experience the dongle is a bit faster, it’s also more stable and connects instantly but the Bluetooth is still on par with any other Bluetooth mouse
@@womp6338 Thanks for your honest answer 🌸
Is the bluetooth poll rate is only 90hz for mx master and mx anywhere? That will cuase cursor to look laggy on screen on high refresh rate screens will it not? Can you test that please?
Good video. straight to the point!
Great video! Straight to the point.
Love how the "for Mac" mouse can't connect to Bolt but still has Bolt logo underneath
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽(golf clap worthy) thank you for answering all my questions. Great video.
I just ordered Graphite (Black) one, let’s see
Still no grey color for MX keys mini for Mac
@@kova_tech I bought a space gray trackpad a year ago that I was planning to use with it, which is still unused but lost its warranty. I guess I'll just have to buy a white one and move on.
@@abdullahdeshmukh99 White one will get discolored soon from your fingers (because it is not a high-quality Apple product :)
Connection speed MX Master with mac by bluetooth are terrible(
Thank you for the video, I appreciate your efforts...
That said this was a completely STUPID marketing plan by Logitech and clearly has caused nothing but confusion among their would be potential consumers that were, like myself, interested in this mouse but had to spend time researching the differences just because their own website / marketing is not clear at all on what, if any differences there really are.
DUMB!!!
Thank you for that comment, I couldn't agree more. I have a MacBook personally for private use and windows laptop for office use and I was trying to figure out which one of those two to get. I am so upset. Now with this video and this comment section I finally figured out that there is pretty much no difference in use. I hate Logitech for this shit. I invested hours in scrolling and google-ing through the internet for this....
@@HrBeeR hey, I've got the same setup as you do, so, if you have bought this mouse so far, could you please tell if it's okay to buy the regular one for both Windows and Mac usage?)
@@MONROTE Hi mate, so I have actually bought the Windows-Version (both Mouse and Keyboard) and it works flawless with Mac. In my opinion, there is no need to buy the Mac-Version. Btw. I am super happy with the mouse! horizontal scrolling is awesome, I use it so much!

Oh huge thanks! I thought of moving from a regular MX3 to a Mac MX3 version. Now I wont )). Huge huge huge thanks!!!!!
Nicely done!
Mac version colors are just better imho, which is why that's what I'm getting.
They should include a USB-C dongle in the box for the Mac one.
Just bought Logitech Master MX3 for Mac.
Thanks for the Video!
Just ordered a regular one (by mistake) and will be using it with my Mac. The customer support said it shouldn’t be a problem. This video is reassuring as well. Fingers crossed.
did it work for apple and mac?
@@donjuco242 yes it does work. But honestly I think I should have bought the Magic Mouse. The gestures are not the same
@@anishtiwari6197 I have the magic mouse. and it tends to loose connectivity looking forward for this mouse instead. thanks for the reply
Does the max version work on a kvm switch ?
Yeah this is just dumb. I have a mac and bought the normal version because of the bolt connector. It's alot better connection then the bluetooth one. And the usb cable i had plenty lying around.
and when say "better" we must say "more secure" instead, because of a LOT of freezes of the mouse during have file operations on external disks via usb hubs. and the bolt does not fix this still.
Thank you!
great video man!
Thanks!!! 👍👍
