Is it possible to copy and paste from Windows pc to android phone using the manual switch (1 to 2) without flow? And can the new mx mini do this?

    • @SkyPerspective
      @SkyPerspective  2 года назад

No copy and paste does not work from Windows to Android when I manually switch from (1 to 2) without Flow. Maybe I don't know how to do it, so happy for others to share their thoughts and experience.
Logitech Flow only works across Windows to Windows or Windows to Mac. I don't think Logitech Flow can work across to Android.

Hi SeedfulMusic, thanks for your question, making me realise I forgot to make that clear. This is my set-up:
Keyboard Device 1 connected to my PC via Keyboard dongle
Keyboard Device 2 connected to my laptop via Bluetooth
Mouse Device 1 connected to my PC via Mouse dongle
Mouse Device 2 connected to my laptop via Bluetooth.
Logitech flow would work even if all of them are connected via Bluetooth without the dongle because all the connections need to be set up prior to turning on Logitech Flow.
      Hope this helps.

Thank you! Did you have both machines connected to Logitech Flow both via Bluetooth? or did you have one via Bluetooth and the other via USB receiver? Getting started up at first enabling the Logitech Flow connectivity was my main struggle because although I had them paired up (1 and 2) they weren't being recognized when enabling Logitech Flow for the 1st time and would have to try changing from 1 and 2 pairing to 2 and 3 and so on. Great content as always!

My device 1 on both my keyboard and mouse are connected to my desktop via their usb receivers. Devices 2 connections are via Bluetooth to my laptop. My setup process is straight forward like you see in the video. It took like 5 to 10 seconds and it found the other computer. I delete the flow connection and re-setup multiple times while preparing for this video, and they always work and found the other computer quickly.
When you are setting it up, did you have both the logitech Flow applications opened up on both computers? Are both your keyboard and mouse sharing one unifying receiver, or are they connected via their own usb receiver?

@@SkyPerspective laptop 1 is connected via USB receiver and highlighted as "1" on the mouse. Laptop 2 is connected via Bluetooth (I always have to set this up each time and reset on the logitech options) and highlighted as "2" on the mouse. I have the logitech flow app opened simultaneously on both laptops, and when trying to enable Flow, I receive the connectivity issue, I then swap the Bluetooth pairing from laptop 2 from number "2" to "3", so that connection is now: laptop 1 = USB receiver (1) and laptop 2 = Bluetooth (3) and retry and then it would work, but I have to do this each time when enabling which is a hassle.

    • @SkyPerspective
      @SkyPerspective  2 года назад +1

Hi Julio, sounds like it could be laptop 2 Bluetooth connection issue. Did you try not using Logitech Flow and just manually switch between device 1 Laptop 1 and device 2 Laptop 2 on your mouse? Does that work?
The other thing you can try to narrow down the problem is swapping the devices. So Laptop 2 = USB device 1, Laptop 1 = Bluetooth device 2. After that if laptop 1 has the same symptoms of having to re-pair from device 2 to device 3 then we are sure it's software issue with Logitech Flow. Let me know how you go.

You don't need both the keyboard and mouse to see flow. If you just have a compatible mouse or just a compatible keyboard, then you should see the Flow option. The keyword here is compatible. Not all mouse and keyboard is compatible with Logitech Flow.

Hi Nite Owl, I am not familiar with Scanflow software, do you have a link to their website so I can take a look? Logitech Flow is designed for you to move your mouse from one computer to another computer by letting it switch connections automatically. From your description, if you are trying to drag a window from an external monitor to your MacBook, you should be able to see where the external display is located in your MacBook display setting. Is that what you are trying to do?

Ouch... only 2 or 3 seconds into your video and I had to hit pause cuz I got a sudden pit in my stomach >_<
Okay, so it feels a bit late/pointless to ask you this since I already made the purchase of the MK850 just under 24 hours ago _("MK" meaning it's both the K850 _*_*Performance*_*_ keyboard and the M720 _*_*Triathlon*_*_ mouse sold together as a box-set)_ but I have a question I'd love for you to answer as it'd help clarify a few things for me _(depending on your answer, I might even cancel that shipment, get a refund for the purchase and then place separate orders for the K780 and the M720 - the keyboard+mouse combo that I was initially leaning towards actually getting before making a last minute judgement-call and switched to the MK850 setup)_
My question is this: Did you ever have / do you currently use another Logitech keyboard that you paired to the Unifying Reciever and/or Logi Options software?
At the very first second of this video we can clearly see one keyboard (K780) and 2 mice (M720 and MX Master 3) recognized by the Logi Options app. A second later you select the Triathlon mouse and... here's what made me hit pause and write this whole essay lol (sorry!) um... On the bottom right corner I see the "DuoLink" feature is available on your particular setup.
So what I'm trying to clarify is this: Was there ever a "higher-tier" Logitech keyboard (the K850, the MX Master Keys, -or... whatever other keyboards unlock this DuoLink feature - honestly, Logitech's documentation on this is quite terrible, I scoured their site for blog posts, knowledge-base help-articles, topical conversations and questions pertaining to this on the community forum, and plain old google searches too, for literally hours trying to figure out which keyboard models "unlock" this DuoLink "easter egg" on the M720 and MX mice- etc) that you registered on Logi Options as a companion to your Logitech mice, OR was the K780 the only Logitech keyboard you ever paired with them?
Based on one news post _(where they were actually announcing the MK850 combo, so it wasn't an article centered around DuoLink as a topic. That said, it was the earliest mention of that feature I could find, since apparently it was when they first introduced DuoLink - and according to the wording of the article - an feature that was exclusive to that particular keyboard+mouse combo)_ and 2 forum comments from Logitech support staff _(where I had to read between the lines. Mind you, I found waaaay more than 2 people asking this question, but most of their answers were cookie-cutter responses, i.e. useless and inapplicable. But out of that haystack on answers I found 2 needles which suggested that)_ the support for DuoLink isn't exclusive to the K850 and M720 anymore, the MX Master+Anywhere mice could now benefit from this too, and the MX Keys could also unlock it _(although - and again this isn't something that was explicitly said, I'm just reading between the lines of a non-helpful answer from 2 of the Logi support staff - the MX Keys Mini didn't support unlocking DuoLink on those mice like it's bigger full-sized keyboard counterpart could)_
Combing through ALL of that led me to conclude (perhaps mistakenly... hence why I'm asking you for clarification now lol) that "lower-tier" Logi keyboards that weren't "full-sized" simply won't unlock the M720 (or other MX mice as well, but I was going to buy the Triathlon regardless of which accompanying keyboard I ended up settling on) in the same way that "higher-end" Log keyboards could. From here, I did some simple math in my head like "okay... well if DuoLink is only available on keyboards that aren't "squished" and whose models #s are ≥ K850 all the way up to the "Master" MX keyboards.... and the number 780 happens to be < 850, plus despite the presence of a number-pad the layout of certain buttons seems rearranged and non-standard...two plus two is four, minus one that's three #QuickMaths okay guess I'm getting the MK850 combo since that's the bare-minimum baseline that DEFINITELY unlocks DuoLink in Logi Options"
But now, as I'm impatiently waiting for the shipment tracker to provide updates, when I decided to check out reviews of these products... I saw a screenshot of your Logi Options app within 00:03 seconds of this video showing a DuoLink enabled M720 paired to seemingly nothing more than the K780 showcased at 00:01 👀
    I. Kid. You. Not. when I say this: This is THE ONLY documentation I actually found so far suggesting that this was even possible.... and it's not even the actual or official device docs! It's a friggin RUclips video lol. I had to find out from YOU - not the literal hundred plus pages of Logitech content I manually scrolled through - that the K780 could possibly unlock DuoLink for these mice in Logi Options. SMH 🤦🏼‍♂️
So yeah, now I'm second guessing my purchase - I'd honestly rather go with the more compact K780 over the K850 since functionally they seem exactly the same now it's just their build that's different (not to mention, it comes with an attached device stand, that's an added bonus!).
The only thing stopping me from going through with that is the uncertainty - I'm unsure whether you own MX Keys or have a K850 lying around elsewhere in your house etc (or whatever other **undocumented** keyboards in between those that you may have once owned) and it's their past and/or present presence that's actually responsible for the DuoLink "easter egg" being available to your Triathlon mouse at 00:03
If you could kindly confirm whether or not the K780 is the only keyboard you own/ed and is responsible for the additional functionality unlocked in your M720 mouse, that'd be most appreciated #PleaseAndThankYou 🙏🏼😭
    P.S.
Seriously, I'm so so soooo very sorry for this essay, but I can't stress this enough, HUNDREDS of Logitech website pages couldn't give me the insight you just accidentally, purely coincidentally did. That's because - at least from what I've seen so far - Logitech support is H O R R E N D O U S L Y A B Y S M A L (nota bene: NOT talking about their hardware, their products are really well built for the markets they target. Likewise, I was pleasantly surprised by the vast customizability their software affords when paired with some of this hardware, like the "Flow" feature you demonstrate in this video, for instance. Nope, I want to be super crystal clear about where I'm squarely pointing the blame and why; I'm referring to the Logitech support staff... who seem incapable of doing anything more than copy/pasting non-answers, regardless of how many people ask the same questions -_-) and I absolutely refuse to spend even one more nanosecond on there after having waster countless hours and browser tabs on there already. So... as strange as this thesis-paper may look, it's cuz as of this moment I value your opinion as a user of both these products far more than their "copypasta"
So, once again, apologies for the essay, but now you know where I'm coming from, what a simple question it is I'm actually trying to have answered at the core of all this, and how many browser tabs I opened trying to get clarification from Logitech about this lol. It's ridiculous, I admit, but that's the situation - apparently, you're the only one who can **actually** give me a clear yes or no answer on this 😅
P.P.S. Just watched your video in it's entirety. I have only two further thoughts to add in conclusion.
    1. You are a very helpful human being, thanks for the demonstration and explanation 🙂👍🏼
    2. Logitech's support staff could probably use someone like you on their team lol 🤣😁

Hi Joel. I am so sorry I missed your comment a month ago. I am making a new video and there is a section I mentioned about this Logitech Flow video I made earlier, that's why I came back to this video and then realised I missed your comment.
Your "essay" comment is so articulative and at the same time hilarious - "copypasta" I had a good laugh. 😂
So to answer your question, the only other keyboard that I have connected to this laptop's Logitech Option application together with my Logitech M720 mouse is the Logitech K380 keyboard. I am not a fan of duolink, hence haven't activated it.
So how is your MK850? Did you return it eventually? My story about the MK850 is this. There was a period of time when I was hunting for a second keyboard with a number pad I ended up almost buying the MK850 because of it comes with M720 triathlon mouse. What stopped me from getting it is the keyboard. I tried typing on it at the shop and no, the key travel is too high (or thick) for me, slowing my typing speed down. This is when I compared to my K780. I ended up buying the Dell KM7120W which doesn't have a mouse as good as M720, but for the half price I got it, I am not complaining. This is the video: ruclips.net/video/bAhnjzFe5y4/видео.html
I hope I answered your question, if not, please feel free to ask me again and I can test out the duolink for you, or I might even make a video on it.
Thanks for your kind words and appreciating my videos. I enjoy making videos to share my personal tech gear and knowledge to all of you. And you are right, I started this channel with the aim to help 10 people, not confident that my video will be good enough to help anyone. Two years later, I am still enjoying making all these videos. It's audiences like yourself that keeps me going. A big thank you for taking your time comment on this video, and my deepest apologies for missing your message.
