Here is south Jersey, we bump the OB in and out of reverse to keep us at the right speed over structure. Your boat is perfectly set up to do just that.

What length is his boat? In NYS waters, where he is? With respect to PFDs? Whatever month you pick. He is in NYS waters.
I wear a PFD when I’m by myself, as usual always alone, especially in the spring in ridiculous ocean sea conditions that want to throw me off the boat, mighty North Atlantic Ocean, NYS waters. 25ft boat. But even if thrown off the boat no PFD can get back on, 65 years old, senior citizen. I don’t want to drown, no such thing as rouge waves, just idiots with beer in hand on July 4 weekend all three days. Cases of it. Every last one of them BWI automatically, every one. Don’t give a shet about getting caught not wearing one, Just saying. Just jump off your boat full clothes no PFD, see what happens, cold as shet water. Guess how far I’m from JS. Guess how long you have time to do anything before you are froze up and drown. JS is out there fishing, are others BWI? Cases of beer on boat. Fishing and beer. One beer in hand is ? And the boating club members driving like car nuts passing like car nuts. Wish I was future east. Lesson learned?

That bluefish can cut right thru the big porgies, in one bite, we used to catch for the livewell, first, then run to the Montauk lighthouse vicinity there of across the rips. In one bite half up, still alive sent it right back down dripping blood and live to get to the bottom thru blues for bass. That one looked a bit dead though, a lot dead. In one bite now. Teeth plenty. No sandpaper bass teeth. Always on top of the bass. Yeh what happened to blue fish? Prepared and cooked correctly, tasted fine to me, only on grill outdoor, smaller the better, white meat. Well ….
Only penn I ever bought was a clash and it does that sticky drag thing also get a shimano come to the dark side

Great video like always, i fish the sound off city island , alot of small 14-15 inch black same with the sea bass but big porgies we catch them as big 15 to 17 inches, im hunting to find those keepers , any suggestions ill appreciate it thanks

The black fish season last year was epic compared to this year! Seems to take for ever to get them to bite and when they do it doesn’t last very long! Maybe just me but after watching this vid I see even Skinner is having issues with the Tog.

The right reel is an evict 3000, but I have an older penn slammer 3000 on there.

Why are the porgy blackfish jigs never in stock
Have tried/tested any of the off-brand lines, like Hercules etc? Can't be that many manufacturers of this stuff, curious who makes what for whom.
I'm so picky about line. Hard to beat X9 and also Seaguar Smackdown. I only want 8-strand braids, except fishing very rocky areas for stripers, then it's Spiderwire Stealth.

John, what is the proper etiquette when blackfishing? How close is too close for another boat to anchor up next to me? I swear some are so close that I can share my lunch with them.
That's too close. I wanted to get on a spot that was taken a couple of days ago and I wouldn't go within 200 feet. It's not just etiquette. It's counter-productive to move in close to a tog boat that's been fishing because they have the bite built under their boat. You want to build your own bite.

He did is you go 2 - 3 years back he shows how too find boulders on Google earth I believe he also did it for the boat too

I noticed no surf fishing videos in a little bit, how’s it been up on the north shore surf? Where I’ve been on the south shore it’s been a pretty slow start this fall, very hit or miss. Seems like this past new moon pushed it in the right direction, had a few keeper size bass to about 30 33 inches and a few decent size weakfish in the past few days but man something still seems kinda off
