I don't anymore. I would get the tremors and extreme hunger when I used to drink though. I found myself eating anything sweet to settle it down. I was also pre-diabetic.

yes had really bad reactive hypoclocemia all my life finally worked out what it is. Trying keto now only been 2 weeks and struggling to get into ketosis. Did carnivore for a few months but did not completely cure it due to gluconeogenis so switching to higher fat ratio and ketovoir style. Wish these vids had been around years ago! Thank you

A friend of mine and myself were hangingout a while back. We stopped st Dunkin Donuts and she started showing symptoms like sweating, ordered like $15 worth of food and eventually collapsed in the place. Luckily he go back on his feet and I bought him a Gatorade

I did. Not diagnosed, I had no family doctor. I once told my symptoms to a doctor while at the emergency for a non-related problem. He discarded it completely, saying it was common!! Hum, waking in the middle of the night, shaking from hunger, collapsing on the kitchen floor before I could drink a glass of milk is normal ? Anyway, I knew even back then that sugar was the cause. Reducing sugar greatly reduced those episodes in frequency, except during my bout of veganism (2 years). Today, with meat and fat in my diet, it never happens.

My oldest son is in his early 20's and he has type 1 diabetes. But thank God for this piece of article ruclips.net/user/postUgkxVYhghKWmrUgXARZ_ydZTvmmcrw5L0I5i At first he thought he had the flu and was lying down on the bed for three days until his sister took him to the hospital. They took his blood and it was 600. What I do not understand is how he could have gotten it, since no one in the family has it. But he is winning the battle now. This is good stuff.

This entire time I’ve been blaming all of these symptoms on anxiety 😭 Noticed that when I drank a single half glass of wine I woke up shaking, thirsty, weak, throbbing headache, dizzy, like almost unresponsive and ready to faint. This was also happening with some foods and I couldn’t tell which ones triggered it so I stopped eating for like 3 weeks because I was so scared of feeling like that. Got blood work done in the middle of having all of these symptoms and my glucose was 57 mg/dL. Definitely will leave it to my doctor to diagnose me but I’m happy I saw this and have a better idea of what could be going on. Thanks for the information!!

Well I thought I was anxious as well, and when I was starting to feel dizzy and I was not able to concentrate the people were blaming me that I act like a child and I have to deal with my emotions. 4 years later I found out that is hypoglycemia. I feel the same after drinking, I was taking anxiety pills I did not know what is happening.

I'm hypoglycemic. I was dx with reactive hypoglycemia a few years ago after passing out on a subway train. I took a 5-hour glucose tolerance test and received my diagnosis. I still deal with some of those reactive hypoglycemia symptoms, including hunger, shakiness, and sleepiness after I eat certain foods, but it's gotten better now that I'm in the know. Knowledge is wealth.

I have been battling with hypoglycemic attacks for 2 decades. I have talked to my primary DR about them. He truly understands my meticulous nature and said I would find an answer for them before him. I love to chart food in take, calorie count, time of day. I have never looked at the relationship of carbs v. protein/fat in my diet. I definitely thinks that it is worth looking. I will concentrate on my carbs v fat/protein more closely. Thanks.

Felt it today, sudden hunger that I was rushing to reach something to eat, fast heart rate, shaky, and the feeling of passing out. I immediately drunk milk just to have something to put in my mouth. I did not eat very well in the past few days, because of the GERD. I was scared of eating anything. This morning, I just ate a little cereal and that's eat. Nothing for lunch. Around 2:30PM I started feeling funky. When I drunk milk, I felt a little better. I boiled eggs and ate some bread and drunk apple juice, now I am feeling a lot better. I will have to get my snacks ready from now on.

So true. I did keto for 3 years and I'm so glad I did, but it's not perfect for everyone, and I struggled with it myself. While I lost weight and cured some inflammation issues, I also had periods with symptoms of hypoglycemia or ketoacidosis. I was skipping breakfast everyday, but that just wasn't sustainable. The frustrating part is, all the big influencers always say the solution is MORE KETO, and yet that will put me into a spell of vertigo that will have me literally on my ass. Still waiting for the community to catch up and start speaking to the people like us, the outliers. I believe in low carb, but it's tough to manage it. Always looking for ways to improve the diet. Oh, another thing, I really don't digest fat well and that's an obvious problem.

God bless you, this has been the most informative video I’ve seen so far! I’ve been trying to do keto for a bit over 2 months now and even after cutting carbs, adding fats and protein I still struggle to even make it 3 HOURS between eating 😢. And even after the first hour I can’t think clearly and am in a bad mood. For some reason it’s actually gotten worse the last couple of weeks! I can go 12 hours by not eating after dinner, but that’s because I’m sleeping. So, if I could sleep all day I’d be good 😉. I need to learn how to feel good while reaching my goal of going longer without food. The type of food doesn’t seem to make much of a difference these days (although maybe it would be even worse with carbs...hard to imagine right now because it’s really bad without a lot of them).

I had hypoglycemia and was not aware. Then I started taking Berberine and ended up going into severe hypoglycemic shock. I stopped taking it, but less than 2 weeks later, I had another hypoglycemic episode (this one less severe). Mine was caused by an unhealthy low caloric deficit. I started eating more calories (not carbs so much- still under 20 a day for keto) and monitoring my blood glucose with a meter over two weeks. Days I was at or below my deficit amount, I had hypoglycemic blood glucose numbers 1/3 of the day. On days I ate more calories (still deficit but 10% instead of 35%) my blood sugar was low-normal and I felt better. I had blood work done at the dr and my a1c level was 3.6 from all the hypoglycemic days and episodes. She also found that my LDL was high, and my wbc, vitamin d, and ALC were severely low. Long story short, I am suffering from malnutrition. I cut my calories so much that my keto diet is unbalanced. Little fat, mostly fiber, and a bit of protein. I was eating low cal low carb keto snack foods to stay in and under my deficit. I cant belive I did this to myself. Im fixing my diet and buying more meat, fruit, and veggies and throwing out the keto snack food. Im done. Im also annoyed that my dr was so concerned with my LDL (209, very high) even though she said its from the unbalanced diet and genetic predisposition- told me no red meat or fat.... im not listening, but im not going overboard either. I had 0 red meat since 10 months ago when I started my deficit. I cut out so much fat, that I dont know how my LDL is so high. Im going to stop counting calories, and eat a balanced keto diet THEN have all the blood work redone in a few months.

Hi Miss Kait. Thank you for the video and the work that you do, in general. I am for anyone who means to support others in their wellness! I just wanted to share that I am diagnosed with Hypoglycemia and believe myself to be reactive. The question I had is tied into Glycation, the process of which is when damage is done to various proteins in the body from sugar molecules. Judging from the info in your video, I tend to think that Hypoglycemia has many moving parts but I'll ask anyway. Are people who do have the diagnosis of Hypoglycemia less susceptible to the ravages or degrees/effect of Glycation or AGe?

Great video! I actually how you did the sponsor section as well and will check it out. I IF daily 18-20 hrs and do low carbs. I was curious and checked out your video because I tend to always have low blood sugar levels. This week after dinner I was at 71 however it was my own fault. I am low carbs and IF when I got home from work I felt like having a white claw beverage and I’m sure that was a big part of it - alcohol before dinner. Thanks again for a great video

Hi Kait, you're great! I wanted to ask you please: I think I've developed hypoglycemic symptoms after several months of cutting carbs. I only ate sweet potatoes before and had fruit every once in a blue moon. Unfortunately, it was cold turkey cutting carbs which I think affected my blood sugar badly. How often should one add carbs to their meals to heal from hypoglycemia? (I'm also detoxing from mold if that helps bring more insight.) Any info would be super appreciated.🙏😊

Apparently I must have reactive hypoglycemia because I started the Keto diet 3 weeks ago and that's when it all started. I never realized how many carbs I was consuming until I started Keto. I had been programmed not to eat fat and my diet was very deficient in healthy fats. My body has been very reactive since I lowered my carb intake until I feel as though I'm going to pass out. The headaches and irritability have been so bad that all I can do is lay on the couch when I'm normally a very productive person. I have an appointment with my PCP this month to confirm it. Thank you for this video, it answered a lot of questions and I now understand what's going on with my body.

Yes, eating is a problem for many people for many different reasons but no one addresses how not eating leads to chronic low glucose and insulin, any info is always connected to diabetes, medications and carbohydrates. The more my levels lower, the nausea prevents me from eating. What should we be eating to raise these 2 levels quickly without eating a lot of food.

Thank you for this information. Based on your description I think I've been experiencing hypoglycemia. I experienced fainting, feeling clammy and sweating, lethargic along with nausea and feeling like I have to go to the bathroom. I experienced these symptoms several years ago. I'm also dealing with hypertension. However, within this week it started again and I'm not sure what I did to bring on feeling. I recently started walking/ light jogging which I haven't done since before the pandemic. Sometimes I start my day with a list of things to do and put off having breakfast. And before I know it the afternoon is about to end.
I would like to know, based on my outline whether I am hypoglycemic. And if so, how to correct this issue and change my behavior.

I was delighted when you talked about fasting. I fast purely for spiritual purposes but I’m glad to know that it also has the added benefit of preventing hypoglycemia (although I will experience it in the short term during the fast). The spiritual side to fasting is absolutely incredible and has been sorely ignored in the modern world of self-indulgence in my personal opinion.
Have I understood correctly? I am also hypoglycemic.
I dip Copenhagen and have cut back considerably and do not indulge during my fast as I feel this profanes it if that makes sense.
I am also an ectomorph but I recently put on 25 lbs due to a medication I take for schizophrenia.
All of this combined makes for a pretty stressful life, but I’m thankful that it has caused me to depend on the Lord. Stress may not be that bad after all. Those who have had lives the easiest might never reach dependence upon the Lord while those who have faced many stressors may develop dependence on the Lord from having it a little harder and turn to the Lord and the Holy Spirit for help.

I have extreme pain in my upper left abdomen and back (i suspect my pancreas). My pancreas isn't regulating my insulin well and I have symptoms of hypoglycemia (confirmed with a glucose meter). You recommend a high fat diet to help vs hypoglycemia. But a low fat diet is recommended to help with my pancreas problems. Which one should I do: high fat diet, or low fat diet?
Snacking often is recommended to help with my pancreas problems, yet you recommend fasting to help with hypoglycemia. Which one is best for me?
Is it possible that my pancreas pain is the root of the problem and that I have to do the opposite that your video suggests even if I have hypoglycemia?

I plan on going to the doctor but I also bought a glucose monitor to keep an eye on my blood sugar. What numebrs suggest hypoglycemia? Should I be testing my blood sugar levels 1 hour after a meal?

My glucose level averaged at 3.0 mmol/L. And so the doc put me on a six meal a day diet, and that was that. No other help at all. So, my brain began to shut down bit by bit. One of the first signs was that my pupils now took up to 2 hours to respond to a change in light intensity. Then later on, auto eye focus was no longer auto eye focus. I had to control it manually. After 8 years of this not receiving any effective help from my GP, nor the specialist I was sent to, I was well on my way to becoming a complete vegetable. I now could not even recognize all words as words, but had to read them letter by letter. My short term memory, on and off throughout the day, would shut down completely. I could not even spell my brothers name anymore. And the list of problems goes on and on. After the cause was found, it still took another 8 years for me to relearn things, although I never did relearn how to write, other than write my signature. And guess who found the cause. Yet, it was me, despite my condition. The doctors were 100% hopeless, if not outright evil.

I am suffering from reactive hypoglycemia since I got pregnant. I used to have insulin resistance and was following a keto diet, the doctors put me on Metformin and when I started the second trimester on my pregnancy I started to suffer all of these symptoms you described. I did a test and I was diagnosed with Gestational diabetes. Then I started using a CGM and discovered that my sugar all night and after 2 hours of eating was dropping to 45-50. I was feeling terrible. I went in for monitoring in a hospital and the doctors gave me a glucose injection, it was horrible, my heart was racing, my sugar spiked in 5 min... Now the only solution they gave me is to eat every 2 hours and be sure to add carbs. I do eat my carbs last as I read a book called Glucose revolution in which I got the tip. I am trapped in the vicious cycle you explained, eating from 6 am to 10 pm, last meals I'm not even hungry (I used to fast 16 hours, I was eating twice a day) but I do it for my baby, I force the meal into my body, it has been working as my sugar now is stable 70-120, haven't had any crashes lately but I really hope I could go back to eating how I liked and what I liked after the baby is born. I have read that ketones are not good for the baby so I'm not following any keto diet at the moment, but I'd appreciate if I could get more information on how to address the root cause for hypoglycemia during pregnancy. Thank you for the video, very informative

Had high protine snacks 6 times a day. Cut out sugar...basically I had a digestion problem. My problems started back when i was 11 and needed antibiotics for strep throat. I developed candida, leaky gut, IBS. My gallbladder was removed when i was 25 just after having my second child ( I have now 5). I now struggle eating animal products and animal fat. I have been able to fast and thus discovered which foods my body is having a problem with as i reintroduced them. Anyone out there with similar experiences? Would love to exchange stories.

Yesss!! Lisa, basically same thing here, but then what I realized is that when they had me fast, I always made sure I ate a buffet of food before bed overstuffing myself, & scheduled the earliest blood testing possible, so this is why my blood levels were low but not low enough to "qualify" in a sense. 🤦🙄😩 I did it that way just because I knew for a fact that I wouldn't be able to last that many hours while awake without eating, because I would start getting weak & shaky & probably throw up, but I had forgotten that me being IN that condition is the time that I actually SHOULD have them test my blood (instead of just overstuffing myself & sleeping through the "weak" phase. Lol. BUT, I saw a doctor once say that you really need to fast for longer then the amount they had told me (I forgot how many hours they suggested though I think it was like 12-13 or something?), but basically then go gt your blood levels tested whileee you are having the negative symptoms. I'm not a doctor or anything lol but I totally get you & have had the struggle too, so I hope this helps them get it figured out for you! 😊

Good evening, Kait. I started keto and IF about a week ago and I started to have one of the symptoms hypothermia which is I feel like I’ll almost faint and it never ever happened to me before and I am a bit concerned tbh, I cut all refined sugars 3 weeks before going keto but I didn’t cut other sources of carbs, like rice, oats, fruits, buckwheat, potatoes, bread and after 3 weeks of no refined sugar I went keto overnight and I’ve been eating carbs all my life and I am 34 but I am not new to if at all, like I’ve done 120, 72, 48, 36 and other fasts and never had problems with fainting, well in the end of 120 hours which I stopped my fast immediately so do you think it’s because I went too fast too soon? Today was so bad that I ate an apple because I was really scared. Should I go gradually maybe? And btw I do eat lots of grass fed meet and poultry cooked in grass fed butter or mct oil with organic pasteurized eggs also cooked in butter and mct oil and veggies with each meal, also organic so if you could share your opinion about my situation, I would greatly appreciate that. Thank you!

I used to smoke weed (emphasis on used to) and anytime I would smoke on an empty stomach or "wake and bake" I fainted from my blood sugar dropping. My friends would have to bring me back to life with food. I've fainted so many times in this same manner. To the point where I would refuse to smoke at a function or with friends if I hadn't eaten anything recently. But I cannot find anything on the internet that mentions this correlation. I know SO many people who smoke on an empty stomach and function just fine. Another family member with hypoglycemia experiences the fainting as well. Anyone else?
