I would use Fram as long as it’s the Ultra Synthetic one. They are high quality made of synthetic fibers that trap more contaminants than the OEM filter. Cost more through at around $15. The basic Fram are crap though.
Thanks, by chance have you done a transmission fluid change/flush? Did it for my gs350 and wanted to do it for the lc500. Wonder if it’s similar, drain, verify how much drained out and fill with same amount.
I had my mechanic do a drain and fill and that’s pretty much the procedure they used. I do believe you have to have the trans fluid warmed to a certain temperature though.
I’m going to have this car soon. I’ll be back here when it’s time for an oil change! One thing, how do you know which way the Fram oil filter goes on? I changed mine on my GS350 with the letters up top at first but it wasn’t fitting right. I then turned it around and it seemed to click into place. I really hope I did it the right way. By the way, I’d recommend switching to Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5W-30. Much better oil than Mobil 1.
Vi,et people be flexing 100k car but they can’t pay for maintenance 🤣 . He probably didn’t even change the washer. Oem filter is 12 bucks 😆 fram filter is paper. The ratio on the car. He’s planning to change it again almost 2 gallon of oil at 1000 interval. He didn’t even bother buying a funnel just used a water bottle 😂 bro is using unleaded for sure
I would LOVE to own one of these LC500’s. Absolutely stunning car, and a BEAUTIFUL sounding naturally aspirated V8. I can NOT believe that he seriously put a Fram filter on a $100,000 Lexus! 😢 My Scion does not even get that type of treatment! Nothing but Toyota TRD filters for it. Dude should just give this Lexus to me, I would treat it FAR better! Lol
Thanks for the video. However, you used synthetic oil, which is wrong. The engine in the LC500 specifically calls for regular, non-synthetic oil. This is also what the Lexus dealer is required to use in this car!!!
You are wrong. The engine does not require synthetic oil - meaning you can put in regular oil just fine. However it is perfectly ok to put in synthetic oil. In fact, you definitely should. They are cleaner and perform better under high heat. There is no reason not to use synthetic other than it costs more. But not even by much.
Your talking about regular driving any high performance driving this car needs synthetic Toyota of Japan does know American regular oil sucks in Japan they only have high quality oil
Thank you, just bought a 2021 and now I know how to do it...
Thank for showing.. My dream car the Lexus LC 500
Same here
thanks for the video. I wouldn't use fram though, the filters are under $10 OEM.

What is the part number for OEM?
thanks for the video!
Where did you Jack the car up? On the side jack points or in the middle under the front?
He did it on the side it’s too low then placed safety in middle you can easily take those bolts out and only Jack when necessary
How much torque on the drain plug and oil filter housing ?
Very good 👍🏻

Most will think this vid ok, but as a commercial airline mechanic, this was painful to watch...lol.
You forgot the small o ring for the oil filter?
This type of housing does not have the small drain so there is no place for small o-ring.
Isn’t it 9.1 quarts not 8?

Farm oil filter on $100,000 car🤯 For that you should have just taken your car into Walmart for an oil change if you on a budget.
