As a person who has owned two LC500's -- the second a bespoke '24 convertible in this ultrasonic blue / caramel color scheme, it's beautiful -- I've always wondered who buys this car in hybrid spec. "I want the most beautiful car Lexus has ever built...but without the 2nd best sounding engine Lexus has ever put in a car"? Less than 1% (3 / 371) of LC's in the pipeline right now are hybrids. 82% are convertibles, which can't be hybrids due to the folding top and hybrid battery using the same space. A bespoke LC500H is truly a unicorn. A weird unicorn that would probably sit on the lot for 6 months before selling, but still a unicorn.
I don't suppose that car body could be put on a 68 Camaro frame after a little tweaking. 😁 Absolutely beautiful car inside and out, but I'd never own something I couldn't maintain 100 % by myself. It sure looks like a fun car.
@@simon_969 some dealers order bespoke cars for their inventory, but this is a press fleet car so I think this was just corporate showing what they could do. The shame of this specific example is that the main reason most people get a bespoke car is to include some of the cosmetic options that Lexus puts on the Inspiration Edition cars. Like black trim and the IE wheels, neither of which this car has.
I'm happy for you that Lexus and Mercedes send you superb sports cars from time to time. You get to drive them and we get to watch a great car review, if we don't get to drive them. Maybe Porsche US will notice one day that you're one of the best YT car channel. 🙏
Love those pants! I also really like the LC500, but the V8. I totally agree with you about the value of the V8 in 10 years. I also wish the twin turbo was actually produced.
That interior is a place one would want to live in 247, gorgeous!! Not often I am impressed with a luxury car, but this one ticks the boxes. Because of how understated and classy it is, along with such nice quality. Thanks for the review Sarah, I enjoyed this one!
Beyond all the tech, engine and performance specs, this is probably the most aesthetically beautiful production car on the market. The design is truly stunning and will stand up for a very long time. Thanks for a super review as always, Sarah!
The V8 model that came with the candy apple/red wine paint job looks astounding in real life. It looks so 21st century spacey on the street. Very very nice car.
Finally a car that scores up to up to you, so fine. All the looks and great flavor. If I didn't need space for a walker, I'd be all over it. Thank you Sarah for being an awesome reviewer, touching the things that truly matter.
What a beast. As you were under the car, seeing all the engineering, all I could think of is the complexity...and why insurance companies are using complexity to justify insurance increases. It's becoming harder to repair. That interior is amazing. Well done Sarah. Be well.

This is the GT I'd buy regardless of how much my budget was. Gorgeous, impeccably built, and you can still get a NA V8 (for at least a little while longer).
It's not sold here in the U.S. (yet), but the MG Cyberster is gorgeous, and I think it starts for the equivalent of about $50k, and it's electric. Probably my top dream car right now. Bring it to the U.S. MG!
You are 100% right. The V8 version will for sure go up in value cause they won't make a lot anymore. Even the rumor LFA will not have a V8. The most likely formula will be V6 turbo plus 2 electric motors front and rear. That's it.
Saw two v8 LC500’s yesterday in, MN. Enjoying my SC430 and anticipating my search for a nice one owner LC500 once my mortgage is gone in a few years, the SC430 will remain in the line up too. Another person I cross paths with in the community has a Ferrari collection and his daily driver is his SC430. I really can’t imagine buying the hybrid, still a beautiful car but the V8 is the heart of the artful beauty that the car is.
Yes the glorious Lexus V-8 engine note is addictive. But the hybrid would be nice to live with when you are stuck in LA traffic, or parking at Whole Foods, or sneaking out the back. Seeing as the convertible is V-8 only, the potential future unicorn value of the hybrid coupe may be a factor. Maybe.
Great vids! These are one of my fave production cars. I have said for years the only luxury brand I would own was Lexus and this is the best of the brand.
High performance cars get bad gas mileage with in-town driving doing errands so a hybrid version raises the overall gas mileage. A pluggable allows you to drive around during the day, stay within the max battery range, and fill up your car only once every two to three months!
Greetings from Scotland! Damn, that's heavy for a coupe! Nearly as heavy as my Bimmer 740d G11. That said, it's pretty quick 0-60 but heavy on fuel which makes sense.

I think I’d love this powertrain. Had a V8 LC500, and though it sounds nice at times, it’s not amazing fast and the 10 speed can be clunky rough. This is odd but a fun hybrid combo. Great review, and great to see one of these in the press fleet!
Great video, amazing engineering the only thing I do not like is that the front end looks like a hover vacuum, hour glass, black widow, so if you can get past that poison pill then it's great!
well done... finally somebody with some common sense. Every reviewer of any Lexus has always slagged off the touch pad setup they used, but it is superior and safer than a glossy , finger print accumulating touchscreen. Bastardising that beautiful sweeping centre console that the LC used to have, now with an impractical touchscreen, was a crime. And can you imagine that glossy touchscreen in the convertible? Unuseable.
Agree absolutely. Using a touchscreen on the move, especially on a less than perfect surface, is at best frustrating, at worst bloody dangerous. I understand with some research and effort the functions may be set up to be voice-controlled. If so, it doesn't matter which type you've got.
4,400 lb 2 door Coupe !?!?! Damnnnnnnnnn................ That weighs more than my 2020 BMW M550 with a twin turbo V8 inside. Interior is gorgeous on the Lexus!

An all black Nissan 370z sport coupe 6MT with a Fast Intentions dual x-pipe cat back exhaust, Stillen Gen 3 long tube intake and a dyno tune. Add gloss black forged magnesium wheels, with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 (240) tires for a car weight of about 3266 lbs and peak crankshaft hp of about 387. All of this is done for considerably less than half the price of that car, which carries much more weight and produces less horsepower.

I own this car in Japan. Of course, everyone's living situation is different, but I frequently go to my vacation home, so the massive fuel tank (over 80 liters) is very reassuring. I think Japanese drivers who enjoy this car buy it exactly for that reason. It might seem strange to seek economy in a luxury car, but even if the mirrors or aero parts get scratched, they can be fixed in a day, which is very beneficial for peace of mind. Once you experience that, it's hard to find a reason to drive any other coupe here😇

The LC 500 is definitely a car that looks better in real life than on film . The colour makes a pretty big difference too .
The phoenix yellow this car comes in is absolutely beautiful.
How does the green look? It seems almost camo green in pictures, but would be my preference
