  • The 2024 Lexus LC500 Convertible ($129,186 starting in Canada, $106,550 starting in the US) is a comfortable GT cruiser, with a 5.0L V8 engine that bellows out a sonorous note and 471 horsepower as it climbs to its 7100 rpm redline. Best enjoyed with the top down, the LC500 Convertible makes a strong case for why it should be the GT car of choice. And given its price in comparison to some of its competition, the LC looks to provide some serious bang for your buck in the comfy GT category. Thomas and James are always happy to be behind the wheel of an LC500 - let’s see what they have to say! We hope you enjoy the episode. SUBSCRIBE!

      I've seen a couple of them too, and to me it just doesn't have the right stance. It looks boaty, like a big oversized thing. A lot of Japanese designs are guilty of this. For some reason they have very bad stances, never does the car justice on how nice they actually might be to drive.

      The AMG GTS is also my favourite car, but the LC500 would live until I’m dead and then some more! I mainly fell in love with this car based on its looks but even more in Gran Turismo 7, it sounds so great and actually handles very well with its weight granting it insane grip in high speed corners. Low speed corners also feel tight and a bit slippery with acceleration, there’s no understeer! It is just a game after all but if I can get an LC500 to drive just like it does in Gran Turismo 7, I’m set for life.

      I've owned a '21 LC500 convertible and now own a '24 bespoke LC500 convertible. I've also driven the RC-F and IS500 at Lexus' performance driving school, which is an excellent event for seat-time-per-dollar.
      You're absolutely right about the IS500. Such a great car and the price is unbelievable. The GS-F is better for a few reasons, probably not worth the extra price to most people. And the LC is a body kit and a valved exhaust. As with IS-F's, the IS500 will hold its value unbelievably well. I think these LC's will eventually appreciate and become collector's items, but the IS500 will always be the cheap way to get this amazing engine.

    • @hamsterbrigade
      @hamsterbrigade 7 месяцев назад +14

      The issue with the IS500 is the transmission. If it had the 10 speed in the LC500 I would have bought it. I owned an ISF before I test drove the IS500. I'm over the transmission, it makes the car feel lazy to me. I think the 10 speed in the LC, while not perfect(there are a few low speed scenarios it doesn't handle smoothly), it light years ahead in immediacy and box office.

The compliments are non stop, not to mention, it’s so rare, most people don’t even know what it is. This vehicle is basically your weekend morning meeting with the psychologist. Get in the seat, drive and the vehicle listens and gives the best advise through it tones, and leave feeling to tackle life with a smile and gratitude.
