- The Games made of Cardboard series has come to an end and what better way to say goodbye than 'FINAL DOOM made of Cardboard'
This marks an epic end to our journey which helps Celebrate DOOM's 30th anniversary,
This took three years to create and involved a significant investment of over £10,000, The entire production was accomplished within the confines of my shed, with the loving support of my dog, Wilson.
We both thank you for joining us over the years! it's been something very special.
Farewell, dear friends, as we close this chapter,
With gratitude and love, we embrace the hereafter.
Games made of cardboard, Doom's legacy I'll keep,
In my shed of dreams, forever etched deep. - Игры
You did a better short film than Hollywood doing a full length movie on DOOM, you were kind to the subject matter, you understood the world of DOOM and you used cardboard while all the cgi and props in Hollywood cant get it right. Take a bow and have a standing ovation on behalf of the DOOM community, Well Done 👍
What a wonderful thing to hear, thank you so much
the doom movie gets a bad rap to be honest I loved it best video game movie hands down besides the new smb movie
The DOOM movie was actually not too bad, they really tried with what they had, the fps scene was well done for the time.@@wjrmyop
Don't be to dellusional
remember the movie doom was made for DOOM 3. DOOM 3 was different from all other doom games. it fit that game perfectly, but it doesn't fit all the other DOOM 🤷♀
John Romero doesn't age, he just gets more regal looking.
I swear the John's are vampires
I physically yelled “No!” that the film was over! I’m blown away, the mix of originality and homages to the vintage art was so smooth.
thanks so much man!! really pleased you enjoyed it!!
i accidently read this comment before seeing the film. yeah, you're absolutely right, i too didn't realize it was already over.
@@BILLTHORPE bro make more of this doom cardboard stuff this is so sick!
Sorry mate its come to an end! will be doing a making of, also i have a large backlog of cardboard creations @@kok8346
А вы знали что автор этого шедевра, на создание всей этой постановки потратил 10000 фунтов стерлингов, получилось очень круто надеюсь ты это закончишь, желаю удачи
Tex sent me here. This is a love letter to classic DooM. Amazing work. Also, props on the sound design. It's pure ecstasy for audiophiles!!
Thanks buddy
The most badass bunny dad of all time
This is how it is done. Rip and tear.
The old skool midi. The face acting in the ammo bar. The same "walkman" I had back then. All of it. Nostalgia 101. Thank you sir. 🤘🏻😈👍🏻
It's a bit bittersweet to see this project come to an end. You had a very unique way of looking at games and turning them into these labor-of-love DIY projects. I'm glad that someone (who appears in this film) pointed me in your direction.
Amazingly well-done!
Cheers Sarg
Seriously?? No one commented on this guy, The je$u$ of brutal doom mod? What a disgrace
Must feel some type of way to see that the Jesus of Brutal DooM said that this was well done 😂 but for real though, this is really good
I am genuinely impressed. This shoestring budget, slapped together short film, is far more entertaining than something with a massive budget. You are one of the RUclips greats.
Duuuude, this is sick! I had to pause at 2:58 to see if you had indeed taken a leaf from the first Terminator film, and you did!! 'Phased Plasma Rifle in a 40 Watt Range.' DOPE!
Wow you got it!, I also added the terminator …ba boom, sound, there are a few more movie refs to spot
Loved how you finished this great film with both versions of Sandy City. It's beyond fan servicing fan film man LOVED IT!
Thanks man I heard its how Mick Gordon wanted Doom eternal to end, however it didn’t happen and his version of the song was scrapped, not here though
That was awesome this is a better live action doom film
Thanks man 👍
To say this is a masterpiece is an understatement. Bill, take a bow Sir! Your finest work; and your finest achievement so far. So proud of you mate 👏🏼
Thanks Dean, will have to link up soon!!!
This is *phenomenal* - holy crap, dude! Please, *please* be proud of yourself. I'm spreading this as far and wide as I can. Romero and Tex cameos make me so happy. You've done amazing shit, mate. I hope you continue to create, even with this being the final hurrah of Games made of Cardboard. *What* a hurrah! Bravo, sir. Bravo.
Wonderful ending and glad to hear you were able to show this film at an expo! Good luck in your endeavors!
Now thats a real Doom movie
NOT directed by Zack Snyder
12:09 You did what Mick Gordon wanted and you didit better.Well done for all the video
Great work as always Bill! Happy Doom 30th Anniversary!
How could you leave the ending like that!! We need a part 2!! I am lost for words, OUTSTANDING is putting it lightly. “I heard about Daisy…I am sorry” 😂 3 years in the making it was well worth it 👏👏👏 Please do a continuation!
I am curious how you managed to get John Romero involved to do the intro.
And it's good to see fireteam whiskey still working, but these contracts are getting hellish.
Being a super fanboy 100% helped
@@BILLTHORPEthis style would make an interesting Wad for Doom. Graphicize the cardboard props and run them on the early I'd tech engine.
Who is John Romero?😂
@@KiiroiShinse The guy who made Dawn of the Dead obviously!!1111
@@KiiroiShinse The creator 🔥
Aww man, end of an era. I found you thanks to Tex and the BPL, fitting that they helped see it off for me. Hope you aren't done making Games made of CARDBOARD stuff, but have just bid adue to DOOM itself.
Regardless, hope things go well for you sir, fair travels and calm seas.
Thanks so much for watching, unfortunately, this is the end of the cardboard stuff, I feel if I carry on the quality may decrease, best leave on a high!
@@BILLTHORPE understandable, but sad, but that's not always a bad thing, looking forward to what you may do next. And if that's nothing, then yes, it was a hell of a way to go out!
I love how you can say "See you in hell" and not come off even slightly negatively.
You sir, have created a defined adaptation of Doom. It's sucks that we never got a faithful adaptation, but this is the closer thing we ever got, a faithful adaptation of Doom.
I would love to see your prop replica of the bfg 9000, cute dog by the way.
Incredible, every single shot is pure art. The effects, the sounds, the lighting, everything. Amazing work. I hope to see more from you as a movie director in the years to come. Congratulations.
I didn't know what to think this was supposed to be just from the name, but you did an awesome job, captured the feel and look spot on
Bro the Mick Gordon Sandy City at the end made my freakin day. This was amazing!!!
Fantastic Bill. I saw the premier at the play expo in Blackpool earlier this year. Great to see it again in all it's glory. You should be proud of what you have achieved. 🤘👍
Thank you so much Phil ❤
@@BILLTHORPEI wish you create doom 64 it'll be awesome 👍
Kudos! Kudos fo you!
This was so good, I would pay to see a feature length version. You stayed true to the original source material and made a short film many a director would envy.
congrats dude. and pay Wilson his bonus.
The fact you got Tex of the Black Pants Legion to do a cameo is priceless along with all the Easter eggs. Excellent work.
Thank you, how many easter eggs did you spot?
This popped up out of nowhere on my youtube main page feed and i am stunned. This is possibly the best fan film I've ever seen, better and more creative than an awful lot of AAA productions out there. Astounding.
Dude this is awesome. Can't even imagine the amount of work u put in here. Good job!
I can’t believe this only has 42,000 views, when I clicked on it I expected it to have millions. This is insanely cool
Thank you very much
Rip and Tear forever Bill! The years we've spent following your work has been an engaging and masterful look into cardboard epic-ness!
Thanks guys you’ve been here since the beginning, ❤❤❤
How did I miss this??!! AMAZING! I dread to think how many weeks/months this took you. Definitely deserves more views.
Thank you so much!!
Took 3 years, building, painting, editing , shooting, was so much work on your own
This ended up being absolutely amazing! I remember when I first saw your posts in the Doom FB group, I was like tf is this dude on about. Then the more posts I saw, the project started to take shape in my imagination too and now seeing it come to fruition is amazing. I love this. Huge congrats, man!
Thank you so much, I am sure you were not the only person thinking WTF??
Thanks for spending your time and resources to entertain us. Much luck onto your next endeavors.
That’s kind to say thanks
I'll be honest, I only clicked at first to see if that was actually John Romero. It's so cool to see him still support DOOM after all these years by being willing to help out with fan projects like this. He seems like such a cool guy and I hope to see him work with and do more to come.
AMAZING MATE! I’ve been watching your stuff for a long time and it’s great to see how far you have come!
Wow awsome job man!! Brings back memories. Good job on including the cassette player in the movie. My gen can relate to the fast forwarding to find a good song.
My God… how did I miss this? Incredible.❤ You hit all the right notes. My heart is screaming for a sequel.
This is better than any movie DOOM has ever had, Good job. 👍
I love how at minute 2:56, the plasma rifle says on it "40 WATT range" classic throwback
Tex brought me here. Screw the algorithm and hats off to you sir.
AHHHHHH, WE need you to make a mini series please, like NOW. This is better than anything I have ever seen.
How does this have so few views? Such care taken to create this, great job!
This was an amazing homage to DOOM and you made it look freaking awesome, I also hope you gave that bestest boy some treats after filming.
Bravo my friend, well done...too bad this is the end.
Wilson was awarded the golden dog bowl of treats for his work on set, thanks for watching
@@BILLTHORPE my pleasure
You are a GENIUS and one of the greatest Doom fans alive.
The visual and sound effects is absolutely stunning. The plot is spot on. Video editing is dialed in. This is a masterpiece! I'm sure the sequel to this is saving Wilson. Wilson is a cute sweet dog btw.
By far the best Doom related thing I've ever seen, it puts the 2 films to shame. Thank you for the tears of joy, lol
Looking forward to the sequel! Loved the use of miniatures and green screens! Be super proud of what you've created! Love that someone has made a Doom Film that actually follows through with the source material! ❤️
Thanks so much, if it takes 50k views by the end of 2024 I’ll get back to work, I am exhausted at the moment, was 3 years worth of work
@@BILLTHORPE I don't mind waiting! If it takes 5 years, so be it! You deserve the rest!
Absolutely Incredible. This is an amazing way to end the project. Rip and Tear.
Thanks you very much!!!
Followed you throughout this process. Really happy to see the final thing. Great job dude, love this
this is just awesome! this is exactly what happens when the artist is allowed to do his work without a producer telling them what to do. Excellent work!
loved it, big fan of the intermission/map sequence with tunes!!!! pretty awesome
Thanks a ton!
This surely must go down as one of the towering achievements of this endlessly devoted fandom. Congratulations. ❤
That’s very kind to say mate, thank you
This was amazing, and also great to see it has one of the creators blessing
Thank you so much!
this needs to be published on netflix
Simply incredible!! You've done such an amazing job!!
Thanks so much
I want so much more of this, this was AMAZING!
2:56 - Terminator's request in the 40 watt range, hahahah nice nod!!
i want to see more this was awesome! loved the 90s walkman doom track goings on 😂 beautiful work 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you!! 😁
if this stands as the games made of cardboard magnum opus then im subbing here and now to see what else you might make in the future as Glorious doesnt even begin to describe this production
Wow! Amazing! Watching this gives u the same feel as playing the game. Makes me wanna go play some doom now. Doom music/soundtrack is so underrated… awesome selection of sound tracks as well. Congrats mate. You should be proud.
Bill, you're amazing! I can't wait to watch your other films/videos!
Stunning! Absolutely stunning.
Thank so much🥹
You can play the classic first-person shooter, Doom, on pretty much any device with some processing power. Turns out you don't even need processing power anymore. This guy got Doom running on a cardboard box.
✌️✌️✌️✌️
That is SO cool! I love the references from every game!
Imagine Hollywood created Doom movie along these lines. It would be awesome. Great job!
I love how you managed to pay homage to all eras of Doom. You had classic weapons, music, sound effects and textures followed by bits and pieces of Mick's amazing soundtrack from 2016 and Eternal. Then to cap it off, the use of the Doom 3 portal effect was perfect. And of course "Crash - Q3" as a call sign. Very clever
Thank you so much, did you spot any movie refs too??
The FPS scene of the Hollywood flick was so good, this reminds me of that.
This just popped up in my feed, commuting to please the algorithm, and bc you had Tex. Love that guy, and by extension, anything he's involved with.
What a nice mix of all doom games! Absolutely awesome!
If Doom 1 and 2 were remade as movies with the newer games giving the atmosphere and half the OST with 16 bit goodness as the setting.
Thanks for watching
2:41 And then the DOOM Slayer died when he realized he put shells with spent primers into his trusty super shotgun.
Real talk though, I appreciate the effort and skill that went into creating this.
Very nice work. When the cassette gets flipped in the beginning I got a rush as a kid that grew up in the 80's I will always have Doom burned into my brain.
More fun than mainstream media. You can tell there is passion in this.
Just now getting around to watching this. Damn fine work man, and getting Tex in on it was the cherry on top lol.
Very well done 🤘👍😁. I love that very creative fans are able to make movies like this. Sure as hell beats the studio films by a long shot
Brilliant. I hope DOOM Cardboard edition becomes canon, because it's far better than the Hollywierd instalments. H/t to BPL for directing me here
It's an awesome game movie I've ever seen on RUclips recently. This is much better than other low-quality doom-related movies presented by a few stupid filmmakers. Why didn't many OTTs in the US produce a perfect Doom movie or series like this? I need to respect this movie creator.
That doggie looks menacing!!😍😍😍😍
Interesting way to tell a story, I like the elements you used, the whole there's more than one doom guy marine and the Daisy narrative I think expands the feeling of just a demon killer nicely...them guns were top notch too🎉
This was awesome! as a life long fan of the 1 2 and Final Dooms , I appreciate this work of art!
thank you very much
You even included the lore of Doomguy avenging his dead bunny 😂
Only 16k views? This deserves a lot more than that. Good job.
Thanks buddy
Finally got around to watching, and wow dude, absolutely amazing work! Im so going to miss watching your cardboard videos, but damn what a good final video to leave on. Like always it was dripping with passion and you can feel the heart in it. Loving your art work thus far too, and im really excited to read your Doom comic when its ready 😄 keep up the great work Bill! 👍
(Also hella cool you got Romero to join you for that intro!)
Wow, even PSX Doom/Doom 64 was repped in this! You're a true fan!
This is unironically better than either of the licensed Doom movies
Man... THIS SHIT IS WAS VERY GOOD! Oh god my english is bad but watching this was fun also i like the plot and side characters (Dog was the best for sure!) I like moment with auto map and music player i think this short film was one of the best gift for doom and doom community its sad it so underrated anyways bro i wish u will become really more popular and uh... THANK YOU FOR THIS MASTERPIECE! (Yeah im sorry again for my english)
Dog is the best part in anything, glad you like Wilson, your English is fine, thanks so much for watching
This needs to be put into production… absolutely amazing
wooooow, 👀👀👀 this is the art, very, very nice work, keep it up.👍👍👍🙋🙋🙋🤗🤗🤗
Too awesome! Incredible job!
The things you could do with a higher budget would be absolutely insane bro, huge props to you for making this masterpiece!
Pretty cool. Love it and need some more of this
This was a really great short film. You got really good talent for filmmaking too.
That was sick, an amazing job you've done there 👏🏼 😊
Cheers old bean
Amazing! The amount of time and effort it must have taken must be enormous! Excellent
