I'm a reasonably talented guitarist (george winters, embryonic journey, for ex.) and came across this as a shortcut to figuring out this tune. Just wanted to say this is probably the most effective guitar lesson I've ever seen on line. Talented player, singer and communicator. Thanks for the inspiration!

Shame Llama I'm now 7 minutes in and it's still excellent. I'm quite a novice and I've found it frustrating with some videos having to squint to see what pattern the right hand is picking. The light in this video makes it easy to see, but more so the verbal and text description of the pattern makes it pretty damn near impossible to not learn this given sufficient practice.

Learning this ""fingerpicking technique ...the seven note cadence has taken over one month....I'm just starting to get the groove to apply it to the song...I figure it will take me one more month to get reasonably good at it...I did this at the expense of everything else.. I would mute the strings so I would not bother anyone else.. play the pattern endlessly on my guitar...The bottom line is this.....In one more month I will have separated myself from one million guitar players who just strum chords.....My point is this... there are no short cuts.. It's a lot of hard work...A LEARNING BONUS...You will be forced to learn the E shape bar chord for the F...I am a student of Swift under another name...DONOVAN was a great stylist as a finger picker...His Colors was a classic back in the 60's...I know I played it back then...but couldn't finger pick it to my regrets...No one to teach me.. Acoustically Donovan, Dylan and Baez were giants in this genre... "I'm glad I went back playing.. So much more I want to learn.
