Hey Chris I love yer videos. Question: can a first timer successfully instal the yak power system? I don't have a kayak shop in montana. Have you experienced any issues with the connectors? Do you know if Garmin has the ability to interface with the system like Lowrance? Appreciate any knowledge!!
A first timer can install the system. It's pretty plug and play. No issues with the connectors but if you do have an issue Yak Power has great customer service based in Louisiana. Garmin can be run off the system on the switch but integration through Garmin UI is not a thing. Yet.
I’m interested in adding a go pro and had seen something about this having an adapter that brought power to the go pro and mounted on the flag. Is that true? You said to ask if we had any questions so I’m asking.
Yes. You will need something like the YoloTek camera pole. Connect a YakPower SAE adapter to that and plug it into an SAE extender that will run to the Yak Power controller.
Lithium ion. I have one battery that runs all accessories and one that runs just the trolling motor. You can get one for just accessories around 20ah (which is plenty) leave it in the hull and it won’t weigh more then 10 pounds.
@@mikecallahan8210 With high hopes, I actually ended up purchasing but was disappointed in the Base setup and have a concern that since the different sections are not connected then I might end up loosing one or more of them. With that being said, I do believe they are definitely an improvement over the older Yak version.
Nice video Chris, I need to save up for a Yak Power system, really like how they work.

Working on a licensing issue.
This is now out. Check it on the Yak Power website.

Whatever happened to the GoPro mounted on the 360 light idea?
Is that not a thing? This is my plan!
Working through licensing issues and royalties.
Is there any other option for a battery other than a big heavy battery you have to lug around?

Didn't even turn it on to show it in use ???????
Are we not looking to sell many of these haha....
Great light up until the o ring requirement... While on the lake it would be almost impossible to install.
He did say it wasn’t a requirement, just an option.
