ALWAYS dielectric grease those wire ends BEFORE crimping! Heat shrink is nothing more then insulation and is great at hiding corrosion, it has nothing to do with waterproofing, as many "believe"!
Love how you make things look so simple and you give step by step information. Thank you for giving us unfortunate people that don’t have a whole lot of money to have some professionals to do this. You have a big heart. Thank you again.
I am in the shopping fr my first kayak. And you have given me alot of ideas to use on what ever fishing Kayak i buy. Just started watching your videos. Cant wait to do some DIY on what ever i get. Great job as usual
Very cool of you to do this giveaway T.J. and congrats again on 10k. Congrats on the win Fred! What a great package. Thanks again to John Wallace & AZ Kayak Guy for your donations. This install is awesome! I think I need this in my life. Ha
Very cool bro.... I should be Kayak Camping right now here in Missouri but, we have been having Tornado warnings all day with 3 on ground in the last hour within 150 miles; needless to say I stayed home haha. Keep up the vids bro.
Wow this video is so awesome and very informative I can't wait to do mine you are so important to everyone that watches your show I will be doing alot of your technical support on my kayak
Man TJ, you inspire to be awesome! I have been looking for ways to better cable management when working in a Kayak. Any way to get a vid on Tips and Tricks for cable management? If you already did this please let me know where its at. I am about to get out the tried and true, duck tape and bubble gum method :)
T.J, I have watched a few videos now and greatly appreciate your explanation in the DIY's. They will sure come in handy when I rig my new kayak. Do you have a DYI where you show how you stop items in the front hatch from making there way to the back. I see Greg Blanchard has an old fishing net it looks like to hold his stuff from going anywhere. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated
Kayak USA I sent an Email. I would love to repay you Kindness and I am going to donate my Last painting Bass Attack to you. You may keep it or put it up for your next giveaway.
First of all, thanks for doing this install on my yak. It’s freakin amazing. Second....I thought you said that I was gonna win because we rigged it that way. What a bummer.
Where do I need to haul my Kayaks to get installation from Baltimore. Need lights, fishfinder, underwater lights? Great video and very clean. Not a diy dude, but interested in process
Just found this video. Great info. I' m looking into getting the perception outlaw and was going to add the yak power system. My question is this. Could I get a second yak power specifically for the motor I get and use the yak power push button to turn the motor on and for speed control and reverse. Thanks for.any info.
Hey TJ, another great vid bud! I've looked through your kit and I'm looking for those little blue connectors "that you honestly don't know what they're called". Lol! I'm installing the exact same set-up with the trickle charger and I can't find those connectors. Can't quite tell what they are from the video. Thanks, brother!
No problem man, here’s a link to a good deal on a pack of them. Thanks for watching! www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MXILXKX/ref=as_li_qf_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=kayakusa-20&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B01MXILXKX&linkId=aff48bac221840edc52f3280fc525e3b
Hey T.J. Years late lol but I was wondering what were the connectors you used for the trickle charger? You had said you have used them all your life but didnt know what they were called lol. I have everything but a charger and was looking at setting it up the exact same way for when I'm done just plugging it into my wall.
Would you need to seal the battery connections so it doesn't short out and cause a fire? Just in case a wire or something causes a short or an unfortunate water leak.
Was watching your older video on install of a hook2 and battery box. How long does a battery like that power your hook and say charging a phone? And I'm assuming your charging up your battery before every trip?
I am looking to have connections for a fish finder, spotlight/nav lights, internal and external strip lights. If I were to buy this kit on yak power would it be able to accommodate all of these? I was also wondering if you had to purchase the strip lights and spot lights separately or if they came in a bundle? Thank you so much!
Do I need a fuse for each accessory I put on and for the on board charger do you just use a 2-1 spade connecter and splice on a female spade to replace the rings on the charger?
Man Great stuff!!! new to kayaks and about 30 days before i get my 1st fishing kayaks. I wanted to know are you located on the west coast or east? I'm looking for someone to do this same kinda install on my kayak/(bonafide ss107) with a fish finder, led lights, usb plug on the back right of standing post next to the chair
I know it’s a old vid but I just got the yak power button lights and panel switch system. The lights won’t come on plugged into the panel switch system. I hit the corresponding button to power them on and nothing but they will come on when directly wired to the battery if the negative is on positive and positive to negative on the battery. It’s weird, like they’re wired backwards or something? I’m wondering if I got some bad lights since everything else I plug into the ports on the panel switch system works. I’m using all yak power products and I got it cause it was supposed to easily be set up but 🤦♂️😂
Hey your shop is haunted. Go back to the battery holder part in the video and watch your Chalkline move by itself behind you. You also had mentioned your TV turned on by itself.
Lol, I really like this channels videos and still do, but after you pointed that chalk line out I lost my focus and sure enough, that sucker moved on its own. OK, now back to the video!
I just got the yak power system and purchased a Dakota lithium battery. The yak power thing I bought that has the 15 amp fuse built in has female connectors that are too small to fit on my battery. Has anyone's else had this problem. I think it has size f1 female connectors while the battery terminal male connectors are size f2. Thanks in advance!
Hey TJ good afternoon, how are you? I hope this email finds you well. I wrote to you a few months ago. I'm planning to buy a Hobie kayak pro angler 14 soon and I'm wondering how do you like it and how stable do you think it is. I just saw a video here on RUclips from another RUclipsr bad mouthing Hobie. I really don't like him too much. But it got me thinking and I'd like to have your honest opinion on it. As far as stability and value. I don't mind spending the money. I am a disabled vet like I told you back then and I'd like to get the safest kayak for my needs, I value your opinion. Stay safe out there brother and keep those videos coming. God bless
Question. I have a sea ghost 130 and bought the lowrance hook2 5. Did you like yours mounted on the rail or would you rather had it on center console. Thanks
every time I click on the links to see the kits you are putting together I get some health kit page pull up and can't get to your kits.. Is there another way to get there Thanks,
I have almost every item I need to start my first kayak build. I’ve learned a lot from your channel. I plan to do a series of my mods on my channel. Can’t wait to try your method of converting a trolling motor. Thanks for all the great videos. If you get a chance, swing over and sub. I’ll be doing that servers and most of what you see was learned from your channel. Thanks again

Those blue connectors I believe are called scotch locks.

did you ever look at the Yak-Power YP-RP8R 8 Circuit Bluetooth Enabled Switching Systems option does it come with the same plugs as the 5 switch ?

I really want to do the LED strips under the kayak that cause the water to glow around you looks sweet.
Couldn't do the rs117 could you? Ordered the kit, needing some help with ideas

kinda off topic, but could i use that same type of battery for a PWM switch module for a 30lb minn kota? I don't want a huge battery on board haha.
