Thing about this guitar is that is sounds totally different in every video I watch. Guess I’ll just have to go try one out in person and get a true taste.

You are right! I owned several Taylor and this 224 is one of them. It is not one of the most expensive one, but I can assure you it sounds awesome and the playability is just great. But as I say, it´s a Taylor and their minimum level is so high you won´t be dissapointed whatever Taylor guitar you choose. Maaaaan...Taylorf should pay me for saying this

I’ve had this guitar for a few years and it’s lovely. It is extremely playable and has a very nice tone I would definitely recommend it. However, I do find myself wanting another guitar just so I can have something with a more traditional guitar sound, so something solid wood with spruce top. I think this guitar sounds best with fingerstyle and softer playing.

The Mexican Taylor factory are doing better quality control that the USA Gibson factory.
I have this guitar and it suprises me every time I open the case. It stays in tune well and sounds better than others in its price range. When I was guitar shopping, I had a budget double what this guitar cost, this guitar chose me.

Richies would be a $8,000 k24 that bastard hahah I played a k24 the other day and that was a mistake. Now all Taylor's don't add up to that beaut k24 but the 224 is a GREAT gig guitar flashy easy to play at a fairly decent price. I just can't justify a laminate back and sides and the price point of these. Just my .2!
