      Sure, but to act like a different coach would drastically change this season is dishonest and cope. The Lakers are a mediocre team because their chemistry is terrible. LeBron never has a roster around him long enough to create chemistry. They just throw random role players around LeBron and hope it works. Doesn't help that LeBron doesn't at all play off the ball, stays stagnant and plays NO help defense. LeBron is only good when he can get to the hoop, and the rare nights his jump shot is going in. Their offense is too stagnant, the roles are defined well enough and they are going to underacheive because of it. Sure, get a new coach, but I promise it wouldn't change the prospects of a championship. Teams are WAY too good in the modern NBA to not have great chemistry and play team ball. It was how the Warriors were so dominant pre Durant, and its why the Nuggests are currently there. And OKC and the T'Wolves aren't far off. The way LeBron plays is so outdated. He can't help the team outside of going to the rim and hoping to catch a foul call, and a new coach isn't going to change that. Stop replacing half your roster every season and off season and maybe the offense would be more effective.

    • @YerpDerp17
      @YerpDerp17 7 месяцев назад +13

      And I think blaming Ham is just a easy way to deflect from their other issues, that are far more impactful. LeBron replaces half his roster every mid season and off season. They never get a chance to build legit chemistry. No ones roles are clearly defined, and their offense is stagnant. Doesn't help that LeBron lacks the ability to play off ball, where he usually just stands in the corner blowing on his hands. He is a streaky shooter, and is only impactful when he can drive to the rim and hope for a foul call. He whines every time he doesn't get a foul called, leaving his team a player short on the opposing fast break, and he doesn't help on defense at all. He just stands there, then making faces or pointing at everyone else when the team scores. Replacing Ham fixes none of that.
      So sure, blame Ham, but keep the same energy for the other reasons. Look at all the top teams, almost all of them outside of the Mavs have built their team over years, building legit chemistry. The era of just throwing random spot shooters and role players around 2 superstars is outdated. A team that plays actual team ball is always going to have the advantage.

      @@TheEverlast190 Facts!! I genuinely believe that the Lakers getting to the WCF, with Ham as Head Coach, may have been one of the worst things to have happened to the team (as weird as it sounds) because people started incorrectly attributing the team’s success to him. The man made 0 adjustments, and when he tried, they were all inconsequential.

    It's definitely coaching. Since the start of the season, the benching of Rui is a mystery when back in the last season, they went far to WCF with him but preferred to start Taurean Prince. Prince is better off the bench so why it took so much games to realize that Rui should be starting. Another thing, when they are making some runs when they are cutting deficits, Darvin Ham always took out the hottest player on the Lakers, then experiment some line ups and do some stupid small ball or 3 guard line up.

    • @kenlen8029
      @kenlen8029 7 месяцев назад

      I think Rui was being punished for not being a great rebounder and doing some not so high IQ things on the court (he's been better recently). I recall Ham back then talking about what they want him to do and how much they want him to improve in certain areas. Problem is he looked, and I think even mentioned being unsure what his role was anymore as he had lost all momentum from the previous season. Whole situation has been weird and it comes down to the coaching decisions at the end of the day.

      Tell me you don't understand basketball. lol Yikes. Nick Wright is teaching everyone to blindly look at stats without context and create your own narratives. The Lakers have NO chemistry. They rebuild the team every half season so it makes sense as to why they lack chemistry a lot of the top teams have. LeBron doesn't play help defense at all. He doesn't play off the ball, at all. He sits in the corner blowing on his hands. He is only effective when he can drive to the rim and generate fouls. When he doesn't get the calls he whines to the refs, forcing his team to be a man short on the opposing fast break. He is a streaky shooter, at best. So yes, LeBron can generate insane stats, but its at the expense of winning team basketball. It's why the offense is so much more efficient when he doesn't play. There is far more motion, and sharing the ball.
      Sure, change he coach. If you think that would make them any closer to a chip then you're delusional. The NBA talent is too good, and there are too many teams with legit chemistry to where you can't just throw random spot up shooters and role players around 2 superstars and expect to win. And replacing half your roster every half season or off season is only going to make it even more difficult. I just find it sort of spineless to put all the blame on Ham, as if there aren't other glaring issues on that team. All just to avoid being honest about LeBron and how he affects this team.
