    ...so glad that the Formby legend still lives on. Steven Sproat is a (more than) fine ukelele player and Skinner leads an army of Formby enthusiasts! I live just over the road from Warrington Cemetery where the great man...

    Absolutely fantastic! My first uke book tutor book was by Steven and it was a great start. I'm getting my own Dallas B back from being restored this weekend. Can't wait!

    thanks kim ..its a Gibson UB3..made in late 1920s.

    Andy Eastwood website usually has some good vintage
    uke banjos like Gibson etc

    Yes it's GCEA standard tuning (I've never been keen
    on high tunings as ukes are already naturally 'high'
    in sound)

    Just love George Formby lyrics the best of entertainment with out being offensive a bit risque but just love it a true entertaining performer

    Not quite as fast, if you listen to the recording of Leaning on a Lamp Post, but pretty near. Just puts Formby's talent into perspective.

    hi steve.Ive played u.banjo since 1967!im now 54(ouch)Love your playing,been told by many im no slouch either!Just wish i lived further up north.Love to join in with the formby fans.In ref to the frank skinner show,which kind of uke are you using.Mine was made in 67,has Dick Barrie on it.One thing i do know is the neck is too narrow,time i invested in a new one!Best of luck.
