An absolute bowling genius. I’m an Englishman and I’ve loved watching this man. Even watching him destroying English batsmen you have to be in absolute awe of him. RIP mate

Shane was my favourite, but it's funny because for me I'm Aussie and as a kid I quickly realised that in sport the English were the enemy, but anytime I saw Freddie Flintoff come on, I started cheering and getting excited and my family were like "why are you so happy? if he goes good that means we might lose" and I didn't care, I loved watching Freddie. The same way many English people view Shane, I view Freddie, I wish he was Aussie.
      Rest in Peace Shane.

I'm an Aussie and I love them both. When Flintoff went to Brett Lee at the end of the second test in 2005 it was a mark of respect and sportsmanship. That was one of the best games I have ever watched and Australia lost. In fact every time I went to the Oval and watched the Ashes Australia lost. Yes I was there on that Monday and was in tears when Richie Benaud walked across the ground. I think it was his last commentating in England. Shane was loved in England and the Aussies love Fred.

What an amazing series that was. People had said England would never win the Ashes again. An ancient contest seemed moribund. And then came 2005. Freddie and Warney, Vaughan v Ponting, Grievous Bodily Harmison, Jones and Hoggard swinging it round corners, Trescothick smashing it all over the place, Strauss bamboozled by Warne but finally working him out, KP's big shots, big personality and big hair, Ashley Giles the wheelie bin and king of spain holding his nerve to hit the winning runs, and always tantalisingly in the balance till the final session of the final day. RIP Shane, gone but never forgotten.

I know our cricketing family around the world have been in shock & shattered over his passing, the exact same when Phil Hughes passed & we as a world cricketing family came mourned together. But in Straya it's like we arel family. We in Straya get to know our sportsmen & women & it's like we know them really well. I suppose us not having a big population of 24/25 million people helps in that way so us getting to know our sporting heroes & every other Aussie celeb...even the news reader we get to know him like he's the next door neighbour 🥰💖❤️💖🥰

Warnies right, people think sledging is rude, crude and aggressive. A genuinely great sledger can do it any way. I’ve always found that the best sledgers are the ones who are creative, the goal is to break concentration not hurt someone. The 3 best ones I’ve have were
    1. We were bowling and the last session the guy was hanging on for dead life, playing no shots at all. After 15 overs he nicked the ball and it was a really difficult catch and our guy dropped it. I called out from cover
“Cmon mate you’d have caught it if it was herpes”
Everyone laughed for a couple minutes and later 2 balls later he was gone.
    2. I got hit in the face with a cricket ball after an ordinary catch attempt that made everyone laugh. So I bandaged a badly cut nose and lips and came back out and started chirping away, but because my face was covered I just made noises like Kenny from SouthPark. Which again proved to be extremely distracting for the batter and we got a couple out after long stares at me.
3 in a game of footy, I packed in for a scrum at prop, as I’ve gone down I said
“Oh your hair smells nice, what’s your care routine?”
As he started talking back I broke from the scrum slapped the hand of the halfback and he dropped the ball and I dove on it, completely reversing the outcome of the scrum.
Not once was I abusive or even swear. The crudest one was on a team mate and was entirely to break concentration of a batsmans
