- Harley Davidson are reported to have been hacked by a group that has stolen customer data. It is unclear what the intentions were of this hack. Was it to highlight some wrong doing by the company or how easy it was to steal private data from Harley Davidson. What will the company do now?

Until this current era of H-D Inc's attempt to out-tech the Gold Wing, historically the mechanics of the bike were considered primitive. Guess what? That was the draw to the brand for generations of buyers. Basic domestic-built transportation with two wheels and a motor and a gearbox. Dealer support if needed while on the road. Harley ownership was a fairly exclusive experience that only a portion of the population took part in and was fairly shunned by everybody else, which was fine by us. Harley-Davidson motorcycles today are merely caricatures of the greatness that once was. Today we witness short-term gain, long-term pain geared towards uninformed, non-riding stockholders who just see this thing as a company that makes vacuum cleaners. They are only interested in squeezing every dime out of the item at any cost, even if it dilutes the brand into its grave. The Motor Company's best days were when they had TWO engines and produced about 125k units per year. Final thought: The AMF era is looking way better today than the current business model. F Jochen

If this is true, Harley's best course of action would be to admit it and reassure their customers - but Harley may not even know about it or what has been 'stolen'. However it's pretty unlikely that any information that HD store about me would be of any use to someone trying to get money from me.

Hacked or sold my information?
This isn’t really new, worked for a dealership for the last year. The entire lead system was shut down and held hostage for a 2 month period.
They wouldn't let a hacker pass em.
I don't feel the same level of past enthusiasm when it comes to the 2025 HD launch. I feel the new stuff will be relating to the big tourers, of which, although I am generally interested to see, I have no interest in purchasing.
Identity theft .. They sell your info to those who apply for Credit Cards in your name. Or they try to make purchases with your Credit Card Numbers.
VW also hacked which is bigger news.
First, let me say that I really enjoy your content for the most part, and have for quite some time now. I primarily am a Honda rider here in the 🇺🇸USA, but I keep my eye on HD in hopes that they will get up to speed by producing a DCT motorcycle, thank you Honda for the Rebel CMX1100 DCT and Goldwing etc. But my question is, where demographically has the “Hack” happened?!? 66,000 is not an extremely large number in the grand scheme of HD sales across the globe! Did it happen in the UK or USA only, or is it more ride spread?!? Please elaborate, thank you so much. Happy New Year! 😎🇺🇸❤️✌️
