I just made a 100 mile trip in my 89 LX at night. Had to run high beams, and still couldn't see worth a darn. Caleb, 2 years have passed now since you posted this, and I am curious how your LED's have held up?
My left head light looks for pot holes and my right looks for low branches lol, those look great
Hahahahah mine too!
Just installed these in My Son's '93 LX and ya ......they are bright, very happy so far
Was gonna swap out my 86 head lights until big rigs was bright flashing me. Stock glass squares AWESOME.
Absolutely a "Must" for the aero nose foxbody's! The 1st thing I do to them when I get one! Even did LED bulbs in my 97 F150 daily driver!
I've been watching too many of your videos. I bought a 90 fox coupe 3 weeks ago and this week I bought a 98 cobra. You gave me mustang fever. Lol
Was planning on changing every light on mine to LED as I put it back together.... Cant wait to see the end result!👍👍
The diff was amazing Joe! I can see!
@@FoxcastMedia I am soooo doing it then.... It was a thought before but I trust your input!😉👍
I had an ‘85 years ago. In Alabama there are deer everywhere. I replaced my fog lights with KC highlighters, and wired them into the high beams. It was a great fix back then.
My son just turned 15, and we are fixing up an ‘87 GT convertible. One of the first steps was to put LEDs all round, in and out.
i got original 83 headlights and they are nice af but i wouldn't mind some nice brighter ones
Might be good to revisit this 2 years later. I've heard plenty of horror stories about melted housings and stuff from LED headlights on cars not made for them.
Older led did but most modern ones have fans on them to help keep the bulb cooler and hopefully not melt housing I swap my truck to led headlights and have had them in the past 2 years and haven’t had any issues with melting
First mod i did to my current fox a year ago although i got Diode Dynamics HIDs(pricey). I need to do my tails and parking lights next. My interior is full blue leds too.
The difference was amazing, I need to do the tails next
Fairly impressive difference. The shop is looking great by the way.
Thanks Bro! video is 4 years old BUT Im buying these bulbs right now lol😃
Install a pair of relays. Use the original headlight wiring as a trigger wire for the relays. Run the high output side of the relay directly to the headlights. Problem solved. I did it years ago, now have a full 12 volts at the headlights instead of 8, very bright lights and no more burned out headlight switches since you are no longer pulling any amperage through it.
Damn good advice!
Nice
I should have scrolled down to see this before posting the same recommendation. Simple fix. and the new headlight bulbs are nearly as bright as LEDs and have proper focus and light distribution with the stock lens.
@@FoxcastMedia RIGHT!
I would really like to see how exactly you got the locking covers on, I don't seem to have enough room with the way they made the wires on the led bulbs
Caleb enjoy your videos however need to give you a heads up. Bought the LASFIT headlamps installed them, normal low beam setting is ok however, when in high beam my gages go crazy. Coolant temperature goes full hot, both turn indicators full on, and battery charge over 18 volts.
Replaced to my old lights everything returns to normal. Only electrical system modification on my car is upgraded 130 amp PA alternator. This message is meant to help you not knock your channel.
Holy whaaa! Thats totes going on my to do list. Never have too much light. But I didn’t hear any mention of checking the headlight aim. Tho I do admit to a cpl skips ahead. Anyway, its always a good idea when muckin with the lights. Just double check you’re not going to blast some Un expecting oncoming traffic with your new super bright lights. Cheers
Already have some on my 92 Lx. Awesome lights. Would help if I could adjust my headlights though.
I just bought leds for my truck and love them! I was thinking about putting them in my fox as well. Glad you made the video
Just put them on my wish list. I have PIAA bulbs in the headlights of my '88 GT but these LED bulbs are much brighter.
THANK you for the vid, Im going buy some today😏😎😎
Got mine yesterday, they look great!
If you like them I'll do them. Makes it simple and easy
Speaking of that marker light - mine has an issue as well. Turned out the bulb fused with the socket. I have to replace that portion of the harness now since I’m blowing the fuse.
Oh well.
Nice! I may need to buy those for my 13 F150.
How did u lock your bulbs in place because the wire comming from the bulb prevents sliding the lock over it??
Just tried upgrading my 93LX with the same style LEDs with the wire from the side, and there is no way to get the black locking ring housing on the bulbs.
EDIT: Saw someone else mention they were able to twist off the front locking ring on the LED Bulb, so they can slip the housing on the bulb then put the locking ring back on the bulb. Checked mine and I can do it also. But will probably need to cut back on the length of the housing about 1/2"-3/4" or so to clear the wire.
You should do a 351w or 460 swap
I bought my 91 with them in already. But the previous owner glued the bulbs in the housings smh. So I need new head and marker lights now
Question. The black cover is supposed to lock the bulb into place. The led don't lock in. What did you do cause the wire on the side gets in the way with black cover?
I have the same problem too. Just tried upgrading my 93LX with the same style LEDs with the wire from the side, and there is no way to get the black locking ring housing on the bulbs.

Maybe an endurance video in about 6 months or so to see if they are still as great as they are now. The funny thing is that’s how bright my lights are on my Lincoln Aviator
The shop is looking nice👍🏼
This has nothing to do with the video but I really love that white Mustang
Going to try these out, ditching those 89 bulbs. Haha
Wow I was thinking about putting led in my mustang
100% recommend
aight. 6 month 1 year follow up video's I'm on the fence with LED bulbs. Please and thank you.
How did you get the black plastic retainer over that wire?? I had to grind off some plastic on my cobalt ss ... luckily the wire was on bottom. But the ballast was wider than retainer .. they don't think when they make these lights lol
Big difference
I literally wouldn't drive the car at night, couldn't see sh*t
Those work great
Man, I need these!
Great video!
Ahhh.... old cars... I miss the days where you can change a simple light bulb... nowadays...you gotta take off the bumper, unhook the washer fluid casing, the battery, ect 😄😄😄
Hahaha I have a 93 GT and I have the same problem with a light going out and coming back on after tapping it, did it in front of a cop one time to get out of a "fix it" ticket
Dope
Caleb, what white plastic piece are you talking about that you had to remove to fit the locking collar on? ... I can't figure it out. Please help if you can. Thank you!
🔔😎
You should have aimed toward the door.
They look good.
We can actually see an aim difference from high to low.🤔🤔
I’m a big advocate for staying original. I don’t feel like changing a head light bulb is a bad thing. It’s a safety thing
You are braver than me to drive your most valuable car at night. Props to you lol
High beams work?
Killer lites......👍
But are you blinding oncoming traffic? LED replacement bulbs almost always do.
Not that I am aware of, they are as bright now as my 2016 Mustang
not really, Aim them down a bit more then 904 bulbs if you are worried about that. I've been running them in a beater with yellow fogged over stock lights for about a year now and its 100 times better vision at night. I even held off on installing a replacement headlight kit I got for it.. only down side is the focus with high beams is off so it kind of make that useless and doesn't increase the beam distance, kind of just acts like a flood light on high beams. I haven't been flashed once. Just make sure to adjust the bulbs and check them at night before driving. most people blinding others just slap bulbs or kits in and never adjust the focus points so its in peoples eyes instead of on the road. Some of them you need to cut the collar down to fit bulbs or you can get the shorter replacements. The oems need trimming but most replacement headlight kits came with the shorter retainer rings.
@@nothanks5652 yellow fogged lenses disperse light unevenly. Fix that and your light pattern will improve immensely.
Great vid. I recently replaced my headlights and fog lights with leds. They do look great but I am now experiencing some kind of ground issue. When the lights are on for some time my temp gauge shoots up to the max then when they are turned off the temp gauge immediately goes back down into the normal range .Have you ever heard of this
happening?
Check that the engine itself is not actually getting hotter. I doubt it is. Sounds like a ground issue, where the headlights are not getting grounded to the chassis, but somehow through the engine and causing current flow through the engine. The temp sensor in these cars are single-wire and gets it return current path through the engine block, so any different current flow through there will cause the gauge to change.
What I hit piece do you have to take off ?
I can't stand oem lighting in any vehicle, I always change every bulb out with led's. You should swap out your brake light bulbs/reverse lights next.
I bought a set a month ago and couldnt figure out which way to clock them. Couldn't get them to pattern right.
EVERYBODY with these old ass cars, among whom I proudly count myself, should clean or replace ALL your ground wires/clean contact surface, new spider washers. Then if not bright enough, install relays. Mine turned white with the stock sealed beams. Thanks to Jasen R. Ross on the FB foxbody page(not an ad, just a good resource of an aerospace electronics technician)
Check voltage at the bulb with bright lights and engine running. Should be 13.4v.
Use relays.
HB1 (9004) Correct ? I tried to purchase from eBay but says bulbs are not compatible with my 88 GT
I got these lights for my fox but they are no brighter than the previous LED's. Any ideas to make em brighter ?
Merica 💪🏽
I also find the rear stopping tail lights aren't bright enough I would like to upgrade those but do you know where I can find these Red LED bulbs for my fox
I am not sure if they make those in LED, link above to their website if you want to check
www.superbrightleds.com/vehicle/1990-ford-mustang-vehicle-led-lights?make=28&model=1204&year=1990
a year later how are the led still working
Don't bother. I've installed two different kits on my fox. A $100 kit from AM and the $30 one off Amazon. Both had the same issue. The low beams are better than halogens no doubt, but the high beams on the LEDs do nothing. The beam pattern changes, fox head light housings are simply not designed to be used with LEDs. I stuck with halogens and installed a discreet light bar.
I had that trouble. Bright but blow light everywhere. Junk.
Just crappy made LEDs
These might be better.
9004 bulbs.
Wtf. I just bought these for my fox because of your video and they dont fit at all. The black housing that twists to keep it in place wont fit because the wire is on the side.
Did you figure out how to make them fit? Same issue here
@@sasukeschidorilv3 they advised me to cut the black piece so the wire clears..
Anthony Frank who is they?
@@These_Geez lasfit
@@anthony8194 hope you figured out your issue. You need to unscrew white part near the bulb that seats to headlight housing. Then slide black ring over it .. then screw on white piece again
cool
How do you get the plastic bulb retainer to go over the cable and fan motor on those bulbs??
Elvis Hernandez I have the same problem. Have you figured this out? I really don’t want to have to cut the housing.
@@mike_nagle yea the bulbs i got are not the the exact ones in this vid, on mine i can actually twist off the plastic rim piece near bulb so ican fit the bulb retainer over it
Elvis can you share the part# of your leds because I can’t get the retainer to slip over the wire harness?
I have the issue where my amber lights come on when I press my lights half a click on the headlight switch. Any solutions ?
I have replaced the headlight switch.
is there a high beam with these or just low beam only?
He flashed them in the garage.
Can anyone tell me what the LED conversion be for a 1985 Mustang with the entire headlight... not just the bulb? Thanks in advance.

Commenters.
Pay attention to the video.
Try to listen.
That marker light is giving me ocd lmao
2 star review so it might be not good
I loved em! Seeing is good! lol
These led lights suck. Both of my cars they lasted 3 weeks before they went out.
Discount code ? Lol
I will get after them, see If I can get a code
Cool thx man love the channel keep it up, can you guys do a push rod engine wit a turbo setup
Promo spot $$$$$$$$$
LED lights do not belong in a stock fox body halogen headlight housing. All they do is scatter the light and blind oncoming traffic. The housing was not designed for them. If you want to do it right then get a retrofit housing kit like this,,,,, not cheap www.theretrofitsource.com/complete-retrofit-kits/universal-kits/bixenon-morimoto-mini-h1-stage-3.html
